In honor of the late Tupacâs 45th birthday, a trailer was released for his upcoming biopic âAll Eyez on Meâ. Although the trailer is only a minute long it gives a great look into how in depth the film goes into his career highs and personal struggles. His motherâs, the late Afeni Shakur, voice narrates throughout the trailer. The film is expected to be released November 11, 2016.
Today is Kendrick Lamarâs birthday and it is ironic that he shares his day in the same week as some his biggest musical influences. Heâs honored those before him taking notes but has taken the music world over by storm. In his debut album, âgood kid m.A.A.d cityâ, K.Dot told a story that flowed throughout that album which was something that many hip-hop artists were not doing anymore. He kept the audience intrigued listening to hear if he was going to get the dominos for his mom or how he was going to make it across town. Kendrick let the world know that he was here stay and conquer whoever in his feature verse on âControlâ. He revealed that he could successfully bring different forms of music into hip-hop that the streets could still rock with in his sophomore album âTo Pimp a Butterflyâ. The Compton native is a man of his words wise beyond his years that resemble the late Tupac.Â
Kendrick has mentioned in interviews before that he once had a dream with 2Pac who told him âDonât let music die.â Well Pac, music is now in the right hands, Happy Birthday K.Dot! Dashradio.com
Check out our Dash Radio blog for a list of some of Kendrickâs best performances:

This performance had Kendrick jamming out with Imagine Dragons during a mashup of both their hit songs. Performing with the rock group showed that Kendrick was a master of music and could make a banger hit with anyone to get the crowd bouncing.

Pretty much anytime Kendrick performs âm.A.A.d cityâ is live as can be. This time he was in the 6Â performing to a sold out crowd whose hands waved up-and- down in the air during the hyped beat drop.

Kendrickâs 2016 Grammy performance brought awareness to injustice in the justice system. He walked out in a chain gang to perform âThe Blacker The Berryâ with eyes darker getting lost into the performance to show the pain that those feel while incarcerated. Towards the end he jammed out to his motivating hit âAlrightâ to exclaim that through music that the sun will shine eventually.

At the 2013 BET AWARDS K.Dot linked up with the soulful queen Erykah Badu for his performance of âBitch Donât Kill My Vibeâ. Sitting on a makeshift porch step , Badu sang the chorus to a pensive Kendrick and we couldnât help but feel the vibe they were trying not to kill.

A young Kendrick was knighted into the West Coast family by those a part of it. The Game, Snoop Dogg and Kurupt all in a ceremony way on stage passed the torch to the young Compton prince that brought him to tears.

Happy Birthday to the iconic artist, Tupac Shakur! 2Pac pushed through all barriers put upon him and exceled in various forms of art. He was an outspoken advocate for peace on streets and equality given to all. His words for change made so much sense it appeared he was far beyond his time. Being a man for the people didnât shy him away from throwing one hell of a gangsta party. Tupac left behind an enormous catalog of music touching on various subjects like teen pregnancy, friendships, racial injustice, motherly love and much more. He was not afraid to push the envelope in his music and his talent, especially in acting. Tupac could embody any personality from a nice mailman trying to make money the right way to a mischievous young man losing his way to gain respect in the streets. He is one of the greatest artists of all time and has sold over 75 million albums worldwide. 2pac had the unique capability to be able to be poetic while being a gangster rapper at the same time. His music, lyrics, and poems still speak volumes till this day and there truly will never be anyone like Tupac.
In honor of his 45th birthday Dash Radioâs #NativeRhymes will be playing Tupac all day long and a interview with Greg Kading (the LAPD officer who investigated the Pac and Biggie murders) at 3pm PT.Â
Below are list of some of his greatest hits:
10.Hit âEm Up- At the height of the East/West Coast battle Tupac did not have any remorse to epically embarrassing his cross-country foe. He spitefully threw plently of low blows to biggie in the most famous diss record ever.
9.I Get Around-One of the greatest party bangers of the 90âs had Tupac letting  his promiscuity be known with no shame but letting the ladies know that, âBaby take it easy, hate to sound sleazy but tease me, I donât want it if its that easy.â
8.Hail Mary- During Pacâs Makeveli days , this song has him attempting to have a moment to zone out the violence and negativity around him and trying to have a conversation with a higher power presumably, Mary mother of Christ.
7. California Love- The West Coast boss shows love to his kingdom of the Westside and expressing that there is no other place he rather party because âCalifornia knows how to party.â
6.I Ainât Mad at Cha- When Tupac was boasting about the âThug Lifeâ and how that was always going to be him he couldnât help but acknowledge and appreciate that some of his friends chose to move on from that. He perfectly described how some friends can grow apart but no matter what they will always be homies.
5. 2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted- During his famous beef Pac cleverly throws shots at his East Coast enemies along side his pal Snoop Dogg while throwing an epic gangsta party.
4.Do For Love- This song correctly depicts the ups and downs of romantic relationships and the difficulties of staying together or letting go.
3.Dear Mama- Tupac showed that there should be no shame or street cred lost in showing love and appreciation to your mama.
2.Changes-Tupac calls for changes in society especially for those in urban areas. He pleads that women should not have to worry about walking alone in the streets and guns should not be so accessible to everyone. He asks that not only political figures make changes but to start within ourselves.
1.Keep Ya Head Up- Tupac gives motivation to those who are struggling and feeling hopeless. He preaches to young men to respect and to not force women in to anything. He calls on young women to value themselves and explains that he acknowledges their daily hardships.
The West Coast mogul turns 47 today. He has surpassed levels of success in music, movies, and business. He is a true entrepreneur who simply doesnât give a f*** if you like him or not. He was part of the iconic West Coast group NWA before breaking away to create a successful solo career. He wrote his own lyrics, helped produce his own tracks, and is one of the founding fathers of gangsta rap and modern-era rap.
This year he has taken greater steps towards becoming an icon by being inducted with his fellow NWA members in the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame and headlining Coachella.
In honor of his birthday here is a list of some of his greatest hits:
10. My summer vacation- Cube breaks down all the typical events to happen when you spend a summer in the hood.
9. Jackinâ for beats- âStill yo beat and give it that gansta touchâ. Cube adds that gangsta lean to a track with beats from other famous songs showing that he has the skills to make a hit out of anything.
8.Gangsta Nation- One of his most famous singles with group âWestside Connectionâ is the perfect
7. Why we thugs- Cube gets a bit political and explains why youth in the hood resort to being gangstas/thugs with liquor stores and gun shops set up on every corner.
6. We be Clubbinâ- Cube gets everyone hyped for all the fun in the club for all the fellas and ladies.
5.You can do it- The ultimate club banger that got people twerking before it was popular. This song makes you want to grab who you have had your eye on in the club and get down on the dance floor.
4. No Vaseline â Arguably one of the best hip-hop beef tracks in history has Cube throwing shots at all his former group mates with no remorse. He gives some intel on the issues that caused his departure in the group and as shown in the film âStraight Out of Comptonâ left them all in awe of his audacity. He just proved that he did not care who liked him but demanded respect.
3. Dopeman- In one of his first hits with NWA, Ice Cube uses his great story telling skills to depict the trials and tribulations a dopeman brings to the hood.
2. Check yo self- âChickity-check yo self before you wreck yo selfâ. Cube gives the ultimate warning to those who even think it is possible to start beef with him. This song gave way to one of the most popular catch phrases ever.
1.Today was a good day- This song is the anthem for the perfect day off. Cube describes all his favorite things to do in one day without any drama including: great breakfast from momma, getting a triple double, a beep from Kim and his name on the Goodyear Blimp.
Check out the birthday mix for Ice Cube today at 6pm PT on #NativeRhymes
NWA IS INDUCTED IN THE ROCK âN ROLL HALL OF FAME
On Friday night, N.W.A members, MC Ren, Dr. Dre, Ice Cube and DJ Yella were all smiles at the 31st Annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. The ceremony was held  at the Barclays Center on April 8, 2016, in Brooklyn.
The Hip-Hop pioneers were introduced by fellow Compton native, Kendrick Lamar. K Dot praised the group for influencing him and showing, âevery kid in the ghetto that you could be successful and still have your voice while doing it.â
After accepting their award and recognition the N.W.A members had a few words for haters and those who did not believe they deserved the induction. One of the people they focused on was KISS member, Gene Simmons who had previously stated that, "I am looking forward to the death of hip-hop.âÂ
"I want to say to Mr. Gene Simmons that hip-hop is here forever," MC Ren came out saying. "We're supposed to be here."
N.W.A has had much success during the 80âs and 90âs. With the release of their super successful biopic âStraight Out of Comptonâ they were not going to be shutdown by critics.
âRock 'n' roll is not just a musical style but a spirit that connects people, be they bluesmen or punk rockers,â Ice Cube explained in his speech. "Rock 'n' roll is not conforming to the people who came before you but creating your own path in music and in life," he said. "That is rock 'n' roll and that is us."
