Hiya! I'm Yureka, mostly known as Dash: @dash-n-step is my main blog for messing around and exploring on tumblr

I often @ myself in my posts so I can reblog them even if I turn reblogs off, don't know why tumblr doesn't let you do that by default

Rules/Conditions of Requests:

You can always drop a requests into my ask box, don't worry about making multiple requests, just don't expect it to be done right away

I draw for fun and am learning as I go, so I may not be consistent

I won't draw NSFW/Fetishes/Anything that makes me uncomfortable

If I find out the request is a request spammed to artists, fetish mining or that the person requesting has a history of harassing people I'm probably not going to do it (just don't be a jerk lmao)

While I try to do most requests that come my way, characters from shows I'm currently interested in are probably going to have more creativity involved

it's actually incredibly funny how defensive all those posts claiming Jax isn't a Vriska are now, in retrospect, like

emotionally manipulative mother that she has awkward feelings about after her presumed death,

huge asshole who picks on everybody around her but insecurities and trauma which explains why she does so leading people to argue whether it justifies it or not,

strong bond with another woman who goes through hell to try to save her, leading people to also argue about the other character being reduced in favor of her development

extremely divisive within the fandom due to all of the above

this comic by a queer artist from over a decade ago somehow got the most annoying people on bluesky to create discourse about it and it's fascinating, and while it annoyed me, after sleeping on it it I'm still mad

woman who lives in the second most populated city of a blue state ''i just don't think people in the closet have solidarity for pride', you're just celebrating remaining within the hierarchy and framework hegemony culture offer us'

but sure, the best way to encourage people to come out the closet, is affirming they they don't belong, and the best way to honor people who never could come out is to alienate them from their would-be peers

"erm, what does not liking labels mean? clearly the cross means the person in the photo is secretely a christofascist bigot" labels are a way to find commonality in the queer experience but no one is obligated to neatly define their queerness through one, and even if this person IS religious, you're literally just allowed to be religious and queer

just the most utter bad faith reading of a comic about showing support to people who aren't in the same place as you are, but oh, sorry it put a chip on your shoulder
