He’s trumped him a few times in the past, ranging from that stupid crystal cave dispute, to quieting a rowdy book spirit. To the dark wizard, Klug can’t back his words. At all.]

“Kyaa—!” 

 Klug let out a scream and  recoiled when the Nuisance Puyos fell on top of his perfect chain. That threw a wrench in his plans. Klug’s eyes narrowed as he concentrated, and decided to clear the Nuisance Puyo before his big chain won him the match. 

He set up a quick chain, and the ground beneath them trembled as Klug’s magic flared and a crater formed on the battlefield. Klug beamed, an ambitious glint in his emerald eyes.

 “Crater!”

[A confident smirk grew on Schezo’s face as he was able to disrupt his chain building. Thinking a step ahead paid off for him, but now he has to act on it by building another chain to end things quickly. Ah, but while he isn’t in any danger, that doesn’t stop Klug from retaliating.]

“Nrgh-!”

“……”

“I’m going to win this battle if it’s the last thing I do!” 

 Klug grins, his cosmic magic beginning to form in his hands. The demon-possessed spellbook floats at his side in a purple aura, out of the way. He quickly adjusts his glasses before setting all of his focus towards the Puyo in front of him. If he could build up a long chain before Schezo, he’d be victorious for sure.

[Likewise, Schezo concentrated his magic, building his chain up nice and high. The sword emanated an...electrical charge? Schezo seems to be setting up something to catch Klug off-guard. If he could snipe him with a quick spell, he can ruin his concentration if he’s focusing too hard trying to defeat Schezo in one swoop. With a quick but potent one-two chain, Schezo fires off several bolts of lightning!]

A yellow Majin, for lack of better word, bounced over to the wizard. 

[Schezo raised his sword up, wreathing the blade in flames with magic. The sword is no ordinary weapon, it is an ancient magical blade and his partner. With a swing of his sword, a trail of flames was unleashed an razed the open ground.]

Black Sig usually didn’t wander around the ancient ruins. He had no real reason to. Mostly, it was to check on a few friends of his. Some insects took a liking to the place, so he vowed to visit it once in awhile to make sure that they or their family was alright.

In the distance, he heard this weird thump. At first, he thought it was just another piece of rock falling down, but the dark aura around him seemed to think otherwise. Curious, he approached where the fall happened.

[What was in that potion? And how did it lead to him ingesting it? He wouldn’t be so gullible as to be a guinea pig for it, so it had to have been slipped into his drink somehow! He sat wall-eyed after he had his drink, as if he’s awaiting for something. The life in his eyes are dimmed, looking like he’s hypnotized by the drink, waiting for Astra to say something…]

[And that scent is something Schezo didn’t pick up on. He wasn’t too versed in potions, so unusual scents would easily go past his radar. Alas, the damage has been done. Without much complaint, Schezo followed Astra to…somewhere. He has no idea where exactly, but there better be some plan B in tow. No antidote in sight means that potion is going to stew a bit.]

“…Is something the matter?”

                ✩~ Is something the matter. Yes, something was definitely the matter. And halfway                 down the hall to her antidote stash the witch froze.

                “… Hehehe… Is something the matter… You tell me, Schez. I love you. I love                 you to pieces.”

He wouldn’t remember. Might as well say it all.

                “And I can’t ever really let you know. Because you wouldn’t see me the same way…                 Because you have Lagnus instead.”

She couldn’t even say ‘what do you see in him’, because… Ugh, because Lagnus was nice. He was a nice guy! Stupid nice Lagnus… It was hard to even wish him ill he was so annoyingly nice. The thought made her frown, made her cross her arms with an irritated huff. Her eyes stung, but she did not want to cry.

                “… I’d burn down the world for you, you know? We could have it all…”

“I-Is that so, love?”

“……”

“Then… then battle me! Now!”

 Klug wasn’t going to take an attack on his pride like that sitting down. Besides, fighting a powerful dark wizard like Schezo would certainly be beneficial for his strength.

 “And if I am the victor, then you have to train me until I am the best!”

“Fine then. Prove to me your skill! Prove that you’re worthy of my teachings!”

Right, they had asked his name. Well, he saw no real reason to lie over it. “I’m Altale. It was raining outside, and this was the nearest place that offered any shelter.” He explained, keeping his tone steady and talking much more slowly than he would otherwise.

For some reason, he was now feeling an odd, prickling sensation against his skin, somewhat akin to chills. And Altale knew that it wasn’t from the bit of water he had gotten hit with. Was it some kind of presence in the vicinity? His magical sense was not honed like most true magicians, and that was a highly detrimental feeling. 

“I am Schezo, the dark wizard. The caves here are the Crystal Caves, a tunnel connecting to town and the open plains.”

[Schezo tapped upon a crystal, letting its power fill the air briefly. It’s rich in mana, imbuing him with power for just a brief moment. Magical crystals aren’t easy to come by, as their sources tend to be scarce in number.]

[What was in that potion? And how did it lead to him ingesting it? He wouldn’t be so gullible as to be a guinea pig for it, so it had to have been slipped into his drink somehow! After a moment of silence, the witch picked up her tea again and smelled it more carefully this time. It had been off before, she’d picked up on that, but…

There were the usual scents coming from it, but then some entirely unexpected. Cinnamon, cosmos, meteor dust, the sharp kind of tingling when the vestiges of dark magic happened to brush her skin-

                “Oh fuck. Gods damn it all…”

That smell was unique to her smelling it and she’d smelled it quite a bit over the last few days while preparing it. Astra set the cup down sharply and looked back at Schezo, who’d just taken a huge draught of his tea. Ugh… He was drugged. With love potion. Just excellent. 

                “Ugh, so lame…” She pinched the bridge of her nose. It would have been so much                 better if she hadn’t known about this. If she hadn’t figured it out. At least her secret                 was probably not out, but it meant… Uuuuugh. It meant she had to deal with this                 some way or another.

                “… Alright. Alright. I’m calm.” Deep breath in, deep breath out. Right. “Come here,                 Schez. Ugghhh…” Think. What should she do about this? She didn’t just have love                 potion antidote on her person, though she was sure she had stores of it                 somewhere. Might as well make money off angry former lovers trying to cure their                 loved ones as well as hopeless suitors (another lament, so much money lost…). He                 probably wouldn’t remember anything, at least. Maybe fleeting bits and pieces. He                 shouldn’t if she’d made it right.

                “This is so annoying, Schez…” Might as well talk out while thinking since she didn’t                 think he’d remember. “Stupid me. Of course you’re not yourself. Nope. Of course.”

“Please let me look at you.”

“I can’t believe you picked me.”

“Do you like it when I touch you there?”

“I want to hear you moan my name.”

“Don’t be shy, sweetheart.”

“I love everything about you.”
