Word count: 4.9k

Now MC has to deal with her two chaotic boys, and a Basilisk child (Tom) that slowly works his way into the dynamic. Now MC has a chaotic boy, voice of worry reason, and a Basilisk as her three friends (eventual poly lovers?)
Warnings: None, somewhat proofread
Notes: Ambiguous House so you can think of any of them for this one. I’m going to be really honest here to myself, I’m not too happy with this one imo and initially I thought this would work but now I’m not so sure. However please please please comments/feedback are most appreciated as I'm concerned for this one. (more notes towards the end of this.)
As the Sixth Year enters, you anticipate a bright new future ahead of you as well as your friends after your grand adventure from your Fifth Year. Scaling from a Goblin Rebellion, facing Dark Wizards, and discovering essences of Ancient Magic from past wielders of the power known as the Keepers. And yet it drained you from that year, but it was the best year for you to live in Hogwarts; as well as meeting new people in the Wizarding World rather than the Muggle world.
Such as meeting your two favorite Slytherin boys, as they’ll always stay by your side whenever you need it. Whether going head straight into danger or simply being together as a trio. You love them both- as well as you being their guide and voice of reason for any conflict that arises in your small circle. Just to put it simply, you found people to be with to create new memories that will be forever memorable. Until one day that changed…
—
Upon entering your potions class with Professor Sharp, you were seated with your two Slytherin boys on a potion table. The lesson of the day is creating the Polyjuice Potion. You remembered using the Polyjuice Potion in your fifth year from Professor Fig in becoming Professor Black. You were curious how to make the potion as it could maybe have more uses in the future. By taking notes with your quill and parchment, and listening to the lecture of Sharp, you were then nudged from your class partner. With his unkempt wavy dark brown hair and star-scattered freckles, as it was none other than Sebastian Sallow.
“What?” You whispered to Sebastian, while still listening to the lecture and paying attention to Sharp.
“I read the most intriguing item from a book in the Restricted Section. And I think you and Ominis might be interested in this one.” Sebastian whispered back with anticipation in his voice as if he found something that was groundbreaking.
“Again in the Restricted Section…?! We’ve talked about this, Sebastian…!” You exclaimed to him in a whisper, that you won’t get caught for talking in the middle of a lecture.
“I know I know, but I promise you that you won’t regret this discovery…!”
You glanced over to his side and gave him a concerned look that either this would go bad or worse than last year. And knowing Ominis that he would agree with you as well and doubting that he would pursue it as this would be inevitable either way for whatever he has found in the restricted books.
“Will you two quiet down…! I’m trying to listen!” Ominis whispered harshly between you two, annoyed that he had to listen to your bickering.
Both you and Sebastian looked at Ominis before you glanced back at Sebastian. “Sebastian I-”
“Ahem…” Professor Sharp stopped his lecture and gazed at the three of you as you were interrupting the class and everyone in the room had eyes on you three. You nervously chuckled and felt embarrassed in being in the spotlight with the title of being the Savior of Hogwarts yet she still can be a distraction in class. “Please set your conversations outside of class, Ms. L/N.”
“Apologies Professor, won’t happen again.” You spoke formally and elbowed Sebastian’s arm for making them almost in trouble and hearing him groan lowly from the hard hit. With that Professor Sharp continued his lecture and did a demonstration of the Polyjuice Creation. Following it through you eventually mastered making the Potion as it will come useful if needed.
—
After class, the three of you headed to the great hall for lunch and you headed over to the Slytherin table after getting your food sitting across from Sebastian and Ominis. You then took a bite of your muffin before you spoke to Sebastian. “So what exactly did you find in the book, Sebastian?”
“Alright so,” He began with a green apple in his hand. “After looking around in the Restricted Section I stumbled upon a book that piqued my interest. A relic of some kind.”
“And what did this tome show you of this, and yet you come to us to speak of it?” Ominis asked almost irritably about Sebastian seeking and finding rather dark items or spells, such as last year in learning all three of the Unforgivable curses.
“Come now Ominis, this is groundbreaking and we can change anything with this relic. It says we can time travel with it.” Sebastian spoke with passion in his voice as if he found his eureka.
“What does that even mean…?” You chimed in and tilted your head to the side with slight confusion on your features.
“From what I read, we could travel back at any time frame. That being to a critical or crucial event whoever touches it. Either forwards or backward.” Sebastian explained. “And yet I thought to myself maybe just maybe… that we can all stop Rookwood from Cursing Anne and maybe none of this would’ve happened.”
“Sebastian…” Your eyes softened in how he never stopped finding ways to help his sister despite her being away from him after what happened in Feldcroft and Solomon. Though you still wanted to help him nonetheless with his endeavors. Ominis’ eyes faltered as well and pitied him for his persistence even after the whole incident. “But isn’t there some kind of caution for this kind of stuff? Like perhaps… not meeting me or anything that has happened now?”
“But if you think about it, it would only remove the segment of Anne being cursed and everything would maybe go as it may now. Since Rookwood and Ranrok were searching for something back then.”
It seems plausible as Sebastian explains this ‘time traveling’ relic, it’s very risky to do but if it’s just a simple action to change, perhaps it won’t be a major problem in your current timeline.
“Is this even safe, Sebastian…?” Ominis asks with caution, already concerned with this entire situation at hand.
“I’m sure, and I promise if anything happens I’ll take responsibility for all this,” Sebastian swore to you and Ominis. “Call me selfish but… I just want to set things right for me and my family.”
As you looked over to Ominis to see his reactions and he was slightly conflicted from all this, yet he does want to help but feels that this is risky once more. “If it makes you feel better, Ominis, I can keep everyone safe if this works.” You reassure him and place your hand on top of his to comfort him. “We’ve been in the worst scenarios before, no?”
Ominis lifted his head in your direction as he had your attention with concern, but when he heard your words his eyes softened to you, and felt safe from you. That you would do the right choice for the three of you, along with being the voice of reason. “If we could do this, then I trust you.” He moved his hand on top of yours and gently squeezed your hand as if he were comfortable with you.
You nodded to him and looked back at Sebastian. “Alright then it’s settled, we’ll go with your plan on yours with this ‘relic’, Sebastian.”
The look on the boy's eyes gleamed in eagerness and anticipation to yours after hearing you say. That you’re willing to dive in for another escapade though it seemed harmless other than the other time with the Inferi Relic. “So…”
Sebastian then explained where this Relic is located and so forth. As this specific one is in Salazar’s Scriptorium hidden behind his bookshelf. As Sebastian explained that Salazar would have this relic as an emergency if anything, though it appears in the book he read that he never used it in his lifetime. With this information, the three of you knew where your next destination would be.
—
Upon entering the Scriptorium once more, Sebastian was leading the way, you were behind him and Ominis was on your side to stay close to you as he still has some memories from last year.
The three of you walked up the stairs to Salazar’s desk and began to search where this ‘Time’ Relic was. As the boys stood around, you searched through the bookshelves left by one of the founders of Hogwarts. You try to be careful as you can as who knows what spells are imbued in these old tomes knowing the founder of House Slytherin is cautious of others. Until you stumble upon a rather peculiar shelf where one of the books is rather still pristine looking than the rest.
You then touched the book and pulled it, it was attached to something, and as you pulled further back. You heard something unlocked and one of the bookshelves shifting back sliding to the side and revealing a relic of some kind. It was a small and spherical shape glass item inside of the sphere was a small hourglass. With a circular handle on the top with elegant metalwork, but it looked pristine as well as if it was never used. When brought out the hourglass originated itself to an upwards position with the sand in the bottom.
“Sebastian, I found something…!” You shouted out and looked back at the strange item in your hand. Sebastian and Ominis came to your position with subtle urgency.
The boy looked over to the relic in your hand and his eyes lit up as if they found their golden snitch. “This is the one! This is a relic!” He exclaimed. “Now…”
“Now what?” Ominis chimed in with concern on his expression.
“Now if I recall correctly, we just need to hold onto the relic together and… I think we just let the relic do its work.” Sebastian explained though unsure if that’s how it functions as the scriptures from the book were difficult to read, due to the language changes throughout generations. “We should head over to the Undercroft where it’s safe from prying eyes.”
The three of you nodded in agreement and exited Salazar’s scriptorium. Along the way you were holding the relic instead of Sebastian just in case he manages to get it work out of the bloom. As you inspect it, you see in the circular handle you see a little prong in the middle like a button of some kind. You decided not to touch it or tell the boys about it until you headed to the Undercroft safely.
Upon entering through the gates you all walked to the middle of the room in a circle. “Ok then, might as well begin, are we all ready?” You asked and took a deep breath as you looked at the two boys in front of you.
“I’m ready,” Sebastian said as he mentally psyched himself up.
“Ominis?” You looked over at him and saw him still worried about this rather unknown territory once more. “I promise I’ll protect you all and you have my word.”
Ominis’ eye looks up, not directly, to your direction and you see his shoulders relax from your words as he builds up his trust in you. “Alright, if anything happens I swear I will end you both.”
“Well, when we return that is.” Sebastian chuckled, to lighten and be more optimistic in this situation. “But let’s begin.”
You were holding the relic already and Sebastian placed his hand on the relic touching the base of it. Ominis was the last one and he held out his hand, you then assisted his hand to guide him to the relic. And yet… nothing happened.
“Nothing happening…” Sebastian was beginning to become irritated that it was not working as intended and left wondering what they were doing wrong. He took the relic from your hands and inspected it himself, then muttering to himself the steps from the book he read. “What are we missing here?”
You looked over to Sebastian seeing that he was getting desperate and went over to his side. “Here, lemme have a look.” Offering your hand for him to give it back to you. And yet he did with eyes of dismay and trying to think throughout this escapade.
As you inspected the relic, you looked over the prong-like button from before and you thought to yourself that perhaps this was the last step. “Let’s do it again.”
“What? But nothing happened and we’re still here in our time.” Sebastian motioned his hand as he stated.
“Though I think I know the solution to our problem here, so let’s try again.” You prompted and held out the relic in your palm for the boys to place on once more. As they placed their hands on the relic, all of you psych yourselves once more unto the breach, you counted down. “3… 2…” You breathe on the last part and place your other index finger on the button. “1…”
You pressed the button and the relic whirled, lit up like a lantern, and the hourglass inside began to spin. Speeding itself 360 degrees to a maximum and a golden aura surrounded the three of you and felt a sudden pull from the relic as if your entire being churned around. The world around you felt it was shaking and unstable where you stand.
“Nrgh…!” You grunted through gritted teeth. Then seeing Sebastian and Ominis gripping your hand, with their expressions in a struggle to hold on to the relic. “Hold on!” Sebastian yelled and grunted before both of you saw Ominis get pulled into the Relic.
“Ominis!” You and Sebastian said panic in unison until Sebastian was pulled into the relic as well. “Sebast- argh!” You were the last one to be pulled in and everything went black for a moment, then suddenly feeling that your body pressed from all directions and seeing lights coming in and out as if speeding through a town. Almost feels like it’s a portkey of some kind but in a very much rougher and unrefined version of it.
Eventually, you fell, face flat on the cold stone floor as if an anvil was dropped in your back. It was dark and freezing, you groaned as you used your palms to push your body slightly up and your eyes were readjusting as it was blurry when you arrived on solid ground after being, in a way, transported. Bringing out your wand you mutter Lumos and lighten the area around you. Your eyes darted left and right trying to see your friends yet you see two bodies as your vision returns.
“Sebastian! Ominis!” You then immediately stood up on your feet, though wobbly your legs were, you ran to their sides nudging their shoulders urgently with both hands.
Sebastian and Ominis groaned and moved slightly as they were waking from the fall as well. You sighed and exhaled through your nose in relief that they were breathing and well. “Are you two alright?” You asked as you continued to hold your well-lit wand up to give some light.-
“More or less.” Sebastian groaned and pushed himself up on his elbows. Adjusting to his surroundings before taking a step forward to stand up on his feet, staggering but fortunately stabilizing himself with his arms. He brought out his wand and cast Lumos to bring more light against yours
“Ominis?” You looked over at him and assisted him to bring him to his feet.
“Thank you, I’m quite… alright I suppose.” Ominis winced from the fall of the relic. “But my wand, where’s my wand?” He felt vulnerable without his wand for him to navigate his surroundings.
You looked around and fortunately found his wand lying away from him as maybe rolled away from him after the arrival. Grabbing in your hands, you gave back to Ominis in a gentle fashion and he thanked you in return before seeing the familiar red circular radiance on the tip of the wand.
“Did it… work?” You asked Sebastian as he was rubbing his eyes to adjust his vision.
“I think so… though candelabras are extinguished…?” He looked around to see that all the light sources in the Undercroft had ceased, which was strange though it could be when you were spun around almost like apparating in midair. “Let’s light them up so we can see.” You nodded to him and went to find the candelabras with Confringo to ignite each of them.
After lighting the last candelabras, you took a gander at the room and there were cobwebs everywhere almost that the Undercroft was untouched for a millennium. Even the main entrance was covered in cobwebs and dust. “Strange…” You mused to yourself. “I can’t say for certain but I think from looking around that the relic did something.”
“But where is the relic?” Sebastian asked as he walked to your side and the two of you returned to Ominis as he was standing still regaining the bearings of his embodiment.
As you went over to the center your heart dropped the moment your eyes laid on the relic, seeing that it was destroyed on the ground. The circular handle was detached and most importantly the main center of the item, the circular ball, and the hourglass inside was shattered and the sand was nowhere nonexistent as if it had evaporated after the usage. “Sebastian…” You called him over and he had the same reaction as you did when you saw it. He clutched his head in fear that his only way back is destroyed if it did work that is.
“I have strong feelings about this,” Ominis commented with concern in his voice.
“What do you mean?” You asked.
“I’m sensing that we don’t belong here at all, and more worryingly, I’m hearing… voices again similar to the one in the scriptorium,” Ominis explained gravely and his grip on his wand tightened from hearing the words of Parseltongue. Making you and Sebastian look over at each other in worry.
“Still, like what she said, we can’t be certain until we head out of the Undercroft.” Sebastian said as he put his wand in his robes.
You and Ominis nodded to him and after getting yourselves sorted, Sebastian went over to the exit and cast Incendio to clear away the cobwebs that covered the gate. He opened the gate and the three of you exited the Undercroft before emerging out of the clockwork doorway into the ground floor of the Turris Magnus. Upon stepping out it appeared it was nighttime with candles and braisers litten up as well as saw no students around. That it’s after hours or curfew.
It seemed that everything appeared the same, nothing new or anything out of the ordinary. “Hmm… nothing drastic I assume,” Sebastian spoke quietly in case there were any Prefects on patrol in these parts of the castle. “But we should head back to our common rooms before we get caught.”
With heel clicks from your shoes as you walked to the main center, in the seating area where the stringed instruments would play music during the day. You were just listening in to Sebastian and Ominis’ bickering on what was the point of acquiring the relic that it didn’t work in the end but Sebastian keeps his optimism high as well as keeping the morale up for the three of you.
When walking down the stairs to the Transfiguration Courtyard, they heard another set of footsteps on their left…
“You three.” A flat but velvet voice was then heard that made your hearts drop immediately, turning your heads to the left and emerging from the darkness. There was this boy, tall and handsome with pale skin, jet black wavy hair swept neatly to the side, and dark but vibrant blue eyes. Based on looks, it appeared he was the same year as you though you don’t recognize him along with your classes.
He had a gray uniform, a sweater vest underneath his white shirt, a prominent tie, and robes that bear the colors of House Slytherin; along with its sigil on the left side of both his uniform and robes. There was a small badge on his robes with the word Prefect etched on the banner of the badge with his house color on the background. It was imminent after seeing his uniform compared to yours that something was wrong.
The boy then approaches the three of you with a stern expression and a rather intimidating presence around him. You couldn’t help but think immediately that he looks… almost like Ominis in physical features. He narrowed his eyes like a predator eyeing his vulnerable prey, as he inspected your uniforms that weren’t like the other uniforms, almost like it was outdated compared to his.
Especially with the house sigils as they were far different compared to seeing Sebastian and Ominis’ robes to the one he has currently. “What are you doing out here at this hour?” Though I have never seen you three before, where are your proper uniforms? Instead of this… outdated and dusty ones.” He said in almost disgust.
“Uhh- what are you doing here?” Sebastian instinctively asks back.
The boy looked already annoyed by his remarks. “I’m a Prefect, and I must find students and peers like you three to be in line, as well as follow the rules in place. Especially those who are out after hours…”
“Right… um… we’ll be on our way back to our dorms, we won’t cause any trouble. But, I have one question if you don’t mind me asking.” You speak out nervously and the boy turned his head quickly to you. Making your heart skip from his gaze as undeniably he was pretty and handsome to see, though still, you were wary of him as a stranger to you. “What… year is it now?”
The Slytherin Prefect boy leaned his head back from your inquiry. “Don’t be daft. It’s 1943 or did you hit your head hard on the floor or from insomnia.” He said harshly.
As he answered your question, the expressions of each of you dropped to pure shock and horror. That you did time travel but rather… forwards in time instead of backward as you three hoped to achieve. And yet your ticket on the way back is destroyed as if it was your one-way trip.
“That… can’t be…” Ominis spoke and was shaken by the information. You were in a state of shock as well that the plan didn’t go as Sebastian said it would go. Speaking of which when you looked over to Sebastian he was speechless and disheartened with his head slightly down trying to take in everything from what he heard.
The Prefect sees the utter disbelief that washed over your expressions and was unamused of your dilemma until he brought up a question of his own. “Who exactly are you three?”
Three of your heads turn to him and there’s no point in lying for where they are now, that they are in a future time frame.
“I’m Sebastian Sallow.” Sebastian started.
“Y/N L/N.” You continued your introduction.
“I’m Ominis. Ominis Gaunt.”
“Gaunt?” The Prefect precariously asked. “As in the Gaunt?”
“Y-Yes,” Ominis answered with hesitance.
“How… interesting.” The Prefect mused to himself. Almost intrigued from hearing that surname in his ears and scanned him from his pale ocean blue eyes as well as his sentient wand. “Now with the looks of your faces, I assume you have a story to tell.”
You looked over to the boys and saw Sebastian shrug his shoulders as he didn’t know what to do from this point and Ominis looked over to your direction in wary as well as concern about the situation you’re in. After some thought you took a deep breath and looked up to the Prefect. “This is maybe a lot to take in, but everything I say is the truth.” You said in honesty.
“You have my attention.” The Prefect crosses his arms in his chest to prepare for the information given to him and then you begin to explain the entire scenario as vaguely as possible but he eventually gets the premise of your ‘unique’ situation.
—
“I see…” He mused and kept looking over to Ominis, he was curious about him and his family. That he knew about the renowned House of Gaunt Pureblood family before.
“With that being said May we ask who you are, since we introduce ourselves.” You said and shifted slightly.
He then turned in your direction and sighed silently. “Very well. Tom, Tom Riddle.” He said in slight disdain as he introduced himself but needed to keep up his reputation so to speak.
“It’s uh pleasure to meet you, Tom.” You gave him a nod as a sign of respect and formality. Tom nodded back at you. “...Likewise.” He said plainly as he was eyeing you, curious about why you were with these two and more importantly that you were the only girl in the group.
Almost as if there was something on the back of his mind, though he was uncertain of the circumstances as they speak, regarding the fact that three unlikely student peers in the same year as him came from a different time. But no matter, he’ll play along with them, so to speak, as he was… fascinated or intrigued by this find.
“I assume that you’re going to tell the professors about us, no?” You asked with uncertainty as he is a Prefect and he has to report back on his roundabout in the castle for any students that sneak out of their dorms.
Tom took a moment as he pondered to himself before he answered, “No, but if I may, I’m more curious about your arrival here and where you came from before. As a trade-off for me to not tell the professors and keep you three a secret.” As he spoke, you thought your eyes were deceiving you that you saw a small smirk sneak up into his lips, but it could perhaps be the poor lighting from the braisers.
“And how can we trust you if you don’t?” Sebastian asked almost defensively from just looking at his appearance before them and his antics from the moment he emerged from the shadows. Also how he’s interacting with you specifically with no sign of hindrance after you asked, which boils his blood in how calm he’s taking in with this encounter.
Tom looked over to Sebastian and batted an eye on him. “I can be trustworthy. Besides, how could I be a Prefect now if I wasn’t trustworthy to the professors and staff in the first place.” He said as a matter of fact. You, in the background, nodded to the side slightly in agreement as from what you remembered about Prefects is that they must have almost top-notch grades in all classes and be exemplary examples of the respected student body to be appointed to the role of authority in their house.
Sebastian narrowed his eyes at Tom as he wasn't convinced by what he said and crossed his arms. While Ominis on the other hand was also not convinced by Tom’s persuasion almost as if he felt he heard that before from his family as well as had a gut bad feeling from him from just simply hearing his voice that there’s malice and darkness in his intention. “Though you may be right in your role, I still can’t seem to find a solution to my worries,” Ominis remarked and gripped his wand slightly out of tenseness.
“I’ve given you the leeway for not telling your presence to the staff, and yet you still don’t trust me?” Tom asked in slight disbelief at his words. Tensions were rising as trust was now the main obstacle, and the fact that all three boys in front are all from Slytherin was certainly not helping in your favor.
You need to sort things before things go out of hand and knowing Sebastian can bring trouble in the circle. “Alright,” The three boys had their attention on you with Omnis on the left, Tom in the middle, and Sebastian on the right in your view. “How about we trust each other for now as a compromise as we have no choice, and we’re still trying to get our bearings in this new environment we’re in. Tom, I’m sure you have other things to do at this time but still, you have our thanks for providing some leeway on our behalf.” You said earnestly towards Tom.
He hummed monotonically in response to your reply along with a nod, while Sebastian and Ominis were wary of your decision but if you believe this is the best solution, they’ll abide by it. If Tom becomes untrustworthy, then you have no choice but to abandon him and find other ways. For Tom’s end, once more he’s curious of the three of you, though normally he’s rather independent and private to himself with fellow students. Yet you intrigue him that you are rather the unique ones than the others in the school currently.
With that sorted, Tom then straightened his back and had his eyes locked onto yours. “So,” He took a step forward while Sebastian and Ominis glanced at him from his forwardness in approaching you. He leaned his head down to your height. You tilted your head back slightly from him as you then saw a glint in his eyes and was attentive to your answer. As if he could see right through your soul that piques his curiosity.
“What else can you tell me about yourselves other than just your names?”
Notes: Okay I may have a favoritism with Tom in here because my obsession of him from CoS returned immensely however, call me ambitious though I am a Slytherin but I was planning to maybe do like routes for each of the boys with MC for those wanting to be with an specific snake boy in their preferences but that's a big maybe. Depending on my writing drive that is.
