The Dark Beckons

Iulthyr traveled through one of the many Dimensional Rifts, a Bakugan’s means of traveling between the six worlds of Vestroia. The Darkus Omega Leonidas traveled as fast he could while cussing at his tardiness for his meeting with his mentor, the Knight Percival Ambrosius.

:I knew I should have ignored those pesky El Condors’ taunts. Ambrosius is going to rip my wings if I don’t make it for his training session,: Iulthyr muttered to himself, all while flapping his wings so hard they could pop off without needing Ambrosius to do it. :What?:

The Rift slowed down as its prismatic walls darkened to a dull grey as Iulthyr paused in a levitating position. He looked about for an explanation to this disturbance, unheard of in its history as he took on a defensive stance.

A presence indeed existed in the same plane as the Darkus Bakugan, though that presence hid itself behind the veil of the grey walls of the former Rift. While it felt the Bakugan’s defensive stance from behind the wall it remained silent, gathering and interpreting his energy’s essence with deep interest.

:Sentient being. Dark and light. Light and dark. Most interesting,: a dark echo of a voice pierced through the silent Rift, reverberating the walls with its frequency. :Cleansing required. Make valuable partner.:

:Confident, brave, powerful. Yet. Feral, reckless, impulsive,: the unidentified presence spoke. :What am I? Does not matter. Meeting matters most.:

The dark presence rumbled as it shifted its massive, crusted frame within the space behind the wall. On its dark body, parasitic tentacles burst forth like hatching larvae from around the transparent, rhomboid-shaped gem embedded in its chest.

Despite the dull surroundings, Iulthyr noticed cracks appearing on one section of the Rift before a swarm of black, predatory appendages tore through towards him. The Omega Leonidas forced to contort his body in evading the tentacles’ jaws, spinning and sommersaulting his way around the empty Rift.

Despite his successful evasions, he soon found out the tentacles remained relentless, hungry for a piece of him. His effort could only last for so long and soon he earned scrapes and scratches on his body.

The onslaught did not last long and as sudden as it started, the appendages retreated back to where it came from with the wall reforming back to its original state without evidence of damage. :Observation complete. Sentient show promise.:

The presence shifted back as it’s frame began vanishing into its own dark space, a plane of existence far incomprehensible for any sentient mind to understand. :A joyful meeting. Until next time. Sentient Three.:

:Observation? Are you fleeing already? Come out and fight me face-to-face! Stop hiding like a coward!: Iulthyr barked, his tail lashing in frustration. :And what do you mean Sentient Three? Quit with the cryptic words and-:

As mysterious as it happened, the Rift restarted and everything returned back as normal, bathing the Darkus Bakugan with the Rift’s earlier prismatic flow. :How did.... Ugh, never mind. If the Rift’s working again, I must report this to Ambrosius at once.:
