I've long been thinking about Cybertronians having very different ways of expressing their emotions, so I'll start with this one demonstration of extreme happiness.
When Cybertronians "scrunch" their faces, it usually means that they're incredibly happy about something.
I have chosen Blades to demonstrate this with, as Blades is the most emotionally open bot of the bunch, and the face scrunching is seen as an extreme expression (think of it as laughing really loudly).
More emotional expressions are to be covered in the future.
(Btw CH2 of rescue bots "Light years away" is almost done, I'm hoping to get it up tomorrow or the day after tomorrow, but CH1 can be read here.)

A mother's plea: Help us survive and protect my child who was born in war.
My name is Sahar. Like any young woman, I dreamed of a stable and happy life. I was engaged to Mohammad, and together, we dreamed of building a warm little home where we could start our life. We spent years preparing our house, but just before our wedding, everything was destroyed in an instant by the war.
I was faced with a choice: to leave Mohammad in the midst of this chaos or to stand by him and begin our journey together, no matter how difficult it might be. I chose him. We got married, not in the dream wedding I had envisioned, but under the harsh reality of war. Our new home became a fragile tent, offering neither comfort nor security.
After we got married, I received the news that I was pregnant with my daughter, and I live in constant fear for my unborn child. I am terrified of the world she will be born into—a world of poverty, hunger, and bitter cold. We have been displaced from our home more than nine times, carrying with us nothing but the burden of loss and the hope of survival. The house we dreamed of is now rubble, and the tent we live in barely protects us from the rain and cold.How will I protect my daughter? We struggle to find enough food. Basic necessities like milk, blankets, and clothing feel impossibly out of reach. The cost of survival has become unbearable. Every night, I am haunted by the thought: how can I bring her into this world, knowing I cannot keep her safe?
After a long pregnancy filled with pain and fear, after nights without sleep, I finally gave birth to my baby girl. She was born in the middle of bombing, surrounded by destruction and poverty—not in a warm room, not in a safe place. Her first cry mixed with the sound of explosions, as if she was announcing her arrival into a cruel world she never chose.
I gave birth to her with nothing but my heart. I cannot promise her anything. Poverty surrounds us from every side, and the cold reaches her tiny body before night even comes. My baby and I are suffering deeply, not because we ask for much, but because I am unable to provide her with the most basic needs: milk, warmth, and safety.
When I look into her eyes, I feel strength. When I look at my empty hands, I break down in tears. I am a mother trying to save her child from hunger and fear, in a world that has shown no mercy even to the dreams of children.😢🥹

My cat, Ego, is in urgent care right now... My friend who's been with me for the last three years is in critical state... We've done everything we could, as fast as we could, but there are things outside of our control, and his state worsened rapidly after surgery.
He developed complications after linear foreign body removal. There's still a chance to save him, it's slim, but it's there. I've been crying non-stop for the last two days, but I'm not ready to let him go without a fight. He has a cat brother, Alter (yes, they're called Alter and Ego), they're inseparable, and I don't want to let him down either. I believe in the vets, believe in my cat's ability to recover, even if he's critical right now. He's only 6 years old, two days ago he was completely healthy, so the situation right now is devastating for me and my mom.
But it's expensive. The whole thing will cost closer to ~600$, including the second surgery and the stay in the clinic after.
If you always wanted to commission something from me – now is the time. I know I have quite a following here, so.. guys, I could really use any help right now.
Waiting time for the commissions will be around a month. I also have ongoing finals (I'm getting my bachelor's degree), but I'm ready to work my ass off for my little boy. March has been really hard for me (my friend's dad passed away suddenly, then a missile hit a nearby building killing 10 people (I live in Kharkiv, Ukraine), it's been A LOT), and Ego's sudden sickness feels like the last drop.
Hopefully the last piece I have to do for uni because this took an absurd amount of time and effort to complete. (32 hours/idk how to measure effort lol)
I highly recommend opening the image and zooming in to get all the little details.
I pulled inspiration from all sorts of sources for this one: the biggest one is an illustration from one of my favourite childhood books about a fantastic forest being that feeds the critters in the woods just because it likes to do so.
I took some inspiration from the Miyazaki' "princess mononoke", specifically the deer god, for Onyx' design itself with the one head being on top of another bird head, his upper torso not having arms and having wings instead, and all other sorts of whimsical details. Onyx is a demigod, after all. He should look the part. I always wanted him to look whimsical, but also a bit surprising, slightly off putting even due to how impossible he looks at a first glance. But never looking terrifying.
I was inspired by "the garden of earthly delights" by Bosch because of how highly detailed it is and how original so many plants and buildings look.
I love creatures, I love all creatures. And I love Onyx Prime too, so, I really wanted to show his love and whimsy through this drawing I did.
Hey just wanted to say that as a very big fan of the rescue bots villains (Morocco and madeline in particular) i'm REALLY interested in whatever's going on in your story.

I FINALLY made a continuation of my previous short rescue bots comic. Explaining what Dr Morocco has been up to in the past few centuries. More lore to come in the future!
Uuuh so the next comic for my Dr Morocco lore will take a while because I currently have a lot on my plate (vacation ended ;-;), so in the meantime, have some (not)Dino Blades! (That I made back in early 2025)
I honestly don't know if I will actually make his dino mode an ancient reptile like in the show. I might just make him scan a cybertronian animal with a similar appearance. But, for now, here's one more Blades doodle for my Blades doodle pile.
