For those that have been uncertain, the birth order of the Fortemps brothers is Artoirel → Haurchefant → Emmanellain.

アルトアレール : オルシュファンは、私の弟なのだ……腹違いのな……。 実直な父が犯した「唯一の過ち」の結果だと人は云う。 ……だが父は、私生児を捨てず、騎士として育てた。

ARTOIREL: Haurchefant is my younger brother… my younger half-brother, that is. He is the product of what some refer to as my father’s “only mistake”… but my father would not reject his illegitimate child, and raised him as a knight instead.

But you knew this even in English, because the English script has Emmanellain saying:

Emmanellain: Ah, but where are my manners. Emmanellain de Fortemps, second son of Count Edmont de Fortemps─trueborn, that is.

I was in Ishgard working on the 68 RDM quest and noticed a thing

Artoirel wasn’t in his usual spot! The quest later takes you to coerthas so I went to talk to Emmanellain to see if he’d say anything about it. And sure enough,

―Some of them proved to be extremely popular with the fans, like Alphinaud, Estinien, and Haurchefant. Was that something you’d anticipated? Maehiro: If I’d seen it coming, maybe I wouldn’t have received as many angry letters that made me fear for my life! [laughs] Even the person who wrote most of the scenes never imagined there’d be such a huge reaction from the players. One example would be the Heavens’ Ward, which is full of great characters like Grinnaux who the fans love to hate. One thing I regret, though, is that we originally had more scenes introducing each of them in the main scenario, but those parts ended up on the cutting room floor. I feel like we should’ve kept them. Yoshida: When we were checking the story, we realized that there were too many characters to show all of their backstories, so we had to streamline it. Each member of the Heavens’ Ward is unique, with his own reasons for following Thordan. Some side with him of their own free will, while others are compelled by a sense of duty. So it’s a shame we weren’t able to depict all of this in game.
