The first post on here in forever! Okay nine months. Now that I’ve been discussing the story over in the forums, I really want to work on this dark, twisted story again. Don’t know if y’all lost hope that this Tumblr was still active. :/ Generation Two will happen. I promise.

My husband is a kind and gentle man. He is my second, as my first husband perished during a Drakronon attack on our village in Drakon. It is a city-state to the west of here. I came to Wraith to start a new life. I married Artus, my current husband, because he promised to take care of me and my four children. Now that my children are gone, I am at a loss for what to do. It is hard to see my husband be loving and intimate with his first wife, Thalassa. But she is a pure-blooded Kr’v, and as one himself, he needs to keep up appearances for the sake of his position on the city council.
Thalassa has control of our finances. She also owns the home we live in. She is not a difficult woman, but she is fairly aloof toward me. She does not like me to be around when she spends time with Artus. I do not blame her. I don’t like her around when I am spending time with our husband.
Thalassa and Artus like to watch television together in the evenings. I take the time to paint my nails or do my hair, visit friends at night, or take long hot baths. Thalasssa likes watching romance movies, the sappy ones, in black and white. I do not care for these. If I choose to watch television at all, it is mainly to watch the news. I hope the war with the Xenosi will let up soon.
Thalassa has a son of her own. His name is Phoenix and he has the most beautiful caramel colored skin. He is a playful and inquisitive child, though he is often stinky. Since his mother is not home very often due to her work travels, I care for Phoenix. I wake up and feed him, I take him to pre-school for vampires, I pick him up and let him eat chicken nuggets for lunch and cooked carrots with cinnamon, and we play games all afternoon. I change his diapers, I bathe him, and I make sure to read to him every night.
Only when he is asleep do I let the tears fall. He isn’t my own. I miss my babies.
That night they rained fire from our sky. This went on for three days. The roof caved in two places. Our furnace no longer works so we have huddled in the kitchen by the woodfire stove. The electrical lines are down so we are without power to light our rooms, to cool our refrigerated goods, to heat our water, or to power our television.
Our mother and stepfather gathered us in the basement. We gathered by the light of a single lantern. This was not the first time we have come together for a family meeting, but none of us could have anticipated what our stepfather would say that night.
Our stepfather is Artus Superbia. He is a pure-blood Kr’v. He married our mother for love. This we know. He is the son of Rex Superbia, the former ruler of Wraith, the city in which we live, and a mermaid named Babette Marquee. Artus is kind to our mother, and good to our family. He has another wife. Her name is Thalassa Banks, and she is also a pure-blood Kr’v. She works at the city treasury and often travels. We do not see her much.
Our mother is Terra Buchanan. She is a fae, but she once married a merman from the city-state of Drakon, a man by the name of Seidos, our father. He died when the youngest of us was just a wee babe.
We are four.
The oldest is Nero, a young man of seventeen, though on Kr’v the ages are different. He is not yet an adult. Nero is a beautiful violinist, and an avid reader. He is good in school, and helps the rest of us with our homework.
I am the oldest daughter, and I am sixteen. I enjoy sewing and making my own clothing, and I make all the costumes for our siblings on Hohn Bewtna (or the Night of Witches).
I also enjoy cooking meals for the family, and I often zone out during my classes, thinking about the different ingredients for various dishes I want to make.
Minced red peppers for the sausages and flatbread.
Chopped white onions for the pork burgers.
A dollop of nabnaka (a soured cream) for the kromp kolaci (potato cakes) and served with jabyka (apple pudding).
These are from mother’s religious tradition. She is a Devoutarian. They are of the Orthodox faith. Our stepfather has also secretly converted. Most Kr’v worship the goddess, Veni.
Mother said she would send me to culinary school someday. My teacher raps my desk with her ruler and tells me I need to focus. When will I ever use the square root of twenty five or how bats can locate prey in the dark? I would rather cook to my heart’s content in the kitchen?
Our younger sister is Concetta, but we call her Connie. She is nine years old. She is always sketching on any scrap piece of paper she can find. A used envelope. The empty white box of a slice of cheese pie. Up the sides of her school notebook paper. Artus purchased an actual sketchbook for her recently, and she was thrilled. Now she spends every afternoon drawing the pictures she sees in the universe. Or at least that is what she calls it. She told me once that all of life speaks to her and asks to be captured on the page.
Our youngest brother is Thaumas, but we call him Thaum. I think the Simlish equivalent would be Thom, but I like Thaum. It is unique. He is a blue-eyed, blonde-haired tot with cherub cheeks. He is only two and a half, but he is the apple of our mother’s eye. Mother and Thaum are often rolling a ball across the ground together when we arrive home from school, or checking out tadpoles in Lake Sanguine. Oh the innocence of his sweet face and the effervescence of his baby laughter.
After tonight, this would all change.
Nero came to get me an hour after I fell asleep. I was so tired after completing the dinner dishes, I hadn’t even bothered to crawl beneath the covers. Nero was adamant that I awaken quickly. He told me to pack a few things, and to meet him in the basement with the rest of the family. I couldn’t understand his hastiness. I didn’t see the fear in his eyes.
I quickly dressed, and put some clothes into a bag. Moving in the middle of the night was not something I was unaccustomed to. We had moved once before like this two years ago when the Drakronon came to Drakon, and burned up our land. Mother lost everything, and our father perished. We left with barely the clothes on our backs, and when I looked back, I could see our entire home engulfed in flames.
Mother had written to a man in Wraith, answering a newspaper advertisement. He promised a good home, and said he was not opposed to children. He wanted a house full of laughter and love, and he hoped to have at least five younglings. He also wanted a woman to care for his estate, and to provide him companionship when his other wife was away. This man was Artus.
From the moment he met us at the ferry, his eyes were alight. One could tell he truly loved our mother at first sight. He gave our mother a kiss on the cheek, and he told us to come get in his car.
Artus had presents for all of us. For Nero, he brought a chestnut violin, since Mother had written him and said her eldest played in the school orchestra and wanted an instrument of his own. For me, he had beautiful wooden mixing bowls and spoons to encourage my cooking. For Connie, he brought a set of wooden coloring pencils. And for Thaum, he had a collection of wooden blocks. For our mother, he had a intricately carved wooden ring with lovely gemstones. We thanked him, completely in awe of our new stepfather’s generosity.It wasn’t until later that we learned Artus was a talented wood carver, and he had made everything for us.
Mother and Artus were married at the City Hall. The ceremony was short, but reverent. After the wedding, mother was given a party by Artus’ sister, Venus, and his half-sister, Jezebel, and his sisters-in-law. It is a custom of these Kr’v. Since we lost everything in our fire, the women brought us clothes and books and toys. We were insanely spoiled by the generosity of this family.
At the family meeting, we were told we needed to leave the city-state. The Xenosi had not let up their rampage against Wraith. Since Artus was part of the city council he was privy to details many were not. The citizens of Wraith had gone mad during the bombings and fighting in the streets. They believed the kidnappings of non-Kr’v were the root of the cause of the war. They were dragging supernaturals from their homes, beating them, killing them, or offering them as sacrifices to the Xenosi.
“Abduct the witches!”
“Take the mermaids!”
“Slay the fairies!”
They chanted hateful things in the streets. The council had agreed to sacrifice a few hundred supernaturals to appease the Xenosi that now plundered our land. Artus had argued vehemently against the edict, and the only voice who shared his opposition was Percevval, his half-brother. Artus said he “purgers” would come in the morning. We needed to be gone by then.
You see, my brothers and sister, and I are all mermaids. My mother is a fairy. As a spouse of a high-ranking city official and pure-blooded Kr’v, she would be spared, but my siblings and I would not be so lucky. Artus could not bear anything happening to us, so he offered to send us away.
Our mother held each of us, and through silent tears, she whispered her love in our ears. Our stepfather embraced each of us, reminding us all that he considered us his own. He was devastated to see us go, but it was the only way he could protect us, to save us from the reapers that would come in only a few hours. He gave us as much money as he could spare without his first wife, Thalassa noticing the absence. He arranged for a friend of a friend of a friend to take us down the river out of town on a trash barge. From there, we could escape, though he did not want to know where we would be. It would be safer this way.
“Someday, I will find you, and I will come for you,” he promised Connie.
We said our goodbyes, and we walked to the edge of town to make our escape. We stood on the rock face on the edge of the Blood River waiting for the friend of Artus’ to come on the trash barge. We would leave town at four in the morning, and we would have no idea where we were going. My name is Eurydice ‘Rydi’ Buchanan and this is my best attempt at a faithful record of our journey through the world of Kr’v.

Samael Zivot is the oldest son of Percevval Superbia and Zaia Zivot. He first appears in Generation 1 as a young boy and teenager. By Generation 2, he is a young adult. Samael is a werewolf. He escaped off-world during the Xeno-Kr’v War and found a job working as a lumberjack.
Somalyn Zivot is the oldest daughter of Percevval Superbia and Zaia Zivot. She appears in Generation 1 as a young girl and teenager. By Generation 2, she is a young adult. She managed to survive the riots during the Xenosi-Kr’v War and she has stayed with her father and stepmother.
Zaia Zivot is the first wife of Percevval Superbia, and a consort of his brother, Malakai Superbia. Zaia is the mother of Somalyn and Samael Zivot with Percevval, and Jacan Superbia with Malakai Superbia. At the end of Generation 1, she goes crazy, contacts the Xenosi, and kills herself (a.k.a. Death by ranting).
The Conclusion of Generation One: Descendants (DMD)
The Xenosi have directly attacked our homeland. They have come in droves. They have come with massive ships. They have begun city-wide terrorism, abducting our people with little thought or conscience, and bombing our buildings into oblivion. They broadcast their message of hate throughout the city. Apparently they are angry with us... angry that we have been allowed to abduct others, even though they themselves have allowed this for years. They have broken through their own self-appointed blockade.
Per tells me not to panic and to take the children to the basement. The servants scream. One of them is trampled by Arion in our front yard. A nearby blast knocks me from the balcony. Per and I hit the ground, shaken but unharmed. I rush to grab my babies from the servants as Somalyn and Samael try to calm the horses in the stable. I looked up and saw Zaia walking toward the bright lights. She was on the roof with an evil smile on her face.
“No,” I gasp.
Zaia laughs hysterically, claiming she told the Xenosi. She told the Xenosi we have their own princess. We have her as a slave among our people.
“Zaia, come down. Come we must hide,” I shouted.
“No,” she glared at me. “You are the reason my husband has chosen to abandon me, so I will abandon our people to the mercy of the green men,” she screeched. “I will... be... FREE!”
She released a maniacal scream and she lifted her arms up to the fiery red skies and dropped into the green light.
The Xenosi bring their divine retribution...a weapon of mass destruction. They bring their judgment for our sins. Is this the end? We, the Kr’v, the descendants of chaos itself, must now be reborn.
I stood on the balcony of Percevval’s estate and marveled at the falling snow, and the kiss... the kiss I shared with Mal. Per found me, feeling along the marble railings of the roof. He stopped and smiled.
“You sound happy,” he said.
“What?” I was startled.
He had interrupted my dream world.
“You appear to be smiling,” he added.
“How can you tell?” I asked, frowning, worried he would read my mind... and know the truth.
“Are you smiling because of me?” he inquired.
I didn’t know what to say. “The snow is beautiful.”
He breathed and sighed, closing his eyes, the eyes that could not see. “It smells beautiful, and I bet you are beautiful tonight, Cora Mae.”
I shivered. He said my name. That was the first time he had ever said my name. I liked the sound of it.
“Cora Mae?” he said hesitantly and gently, as he reached for my hands.
He grabbed at the air. I frowned.
“Here,” I offered my hands.
He smiled, almost nervously. Something was off.
“Cora Mae, do you think... do you think you could love me?” he asked, his voice wavering.
I stood in stunned silence.
“I love you... oh... damn... I wasn’t going to tell you like that,” Per rubbed his head sheepishly. “Well, here goes... I am a new man because of you. I know I have no right to ask for your love. I took what wasn’t mine in the first place, and I know that I violated you in the worst sense. I cannot imagine the agony and pain and terror you must have felt. Do you know how sorry I am and how much I wish you could forgive me? Do you believe me?”
I swallowed hard. “I believe you.” I could see it in his lifeless eyes.
“Cora Mae,” he squeezed my hands. “No... my darling... I love you. I love you more than I could have ever imagined. I love you more than any woman I have ever been with. If you say the words, I will be yours forever... exclusively. I will leave my wife.”
I gasped.
“Zaia will be well taken care of. I will see to it. I will see she gains a proper divorce and settlement. I will see that she is treated with mercy and kindness. I will see that our children are provided for the rest of their lives, but my love...” Per reached for my face. “You are the woman of my dreams. You are the favored of my heart. I shall not seek another for as long as I live. I want to bind myself to you in every way. I want you and...” his voice cracked. “...and only you... if you could have me... if you should want me.”
I couldn’t help myself. I threw my arms around him, and crushed him to myself. I was in love with Per. I knew I was. Those feelings had been bubbling for months. He was so different from Mal, and yet I had watched this cruel heartless man change over the course of the years I spent with him, and become the kinder, loving man before me now.
“Cora Mae, will you do me the honor of becoming my hebecta ubanep?”
“Your bride lover?” I responded, the tears welling in my eye.
It was the highest honor.
“Yes, my love, be my hebecta ubanep. And I shall be your mykmu jubavik... your groom-lover,” he whispered.
Oh what was I to do?
As I thought through my options, I was interrupted by the sounds of screaming and the sky tearing open before our eyes as ships of unparalleled power forced their way into our atmosphere.
When I finished riding Arion at the Fields of Unforgiveness, I noticed a man watching me. There was something familiar about him. It was Mal. I couldn’t believe it. I hadn’t seen him since he kicked me out of the home and I was forced to live in city housing as a servant.
The first day I saw him, I hit him. I didn’t even care what the consequences would be. He grunted as I ran away. The second day I saw him, I called him names. The third day, I cried. The fourth day, I considered avoiding the Fields of Unforgiveness altogether, but the equestrian track was too nice to abandon. I decided to hold my head high and force Mal to go somewhere else. He didn’t. He came to the fields every day for several months.
Finally, I asked him what he wanted. He dropped to his knees and tearfully tried to apologize. He told me it was because of Olive that he was so cruel. I couldn’t believe he was trying to blame the witch who cursed me, but then he explained that she used some sort of mind control and she was now his latest wife. She was manipulating him with her magic the entire time. He cried and said he was sorry. He cried and said the kids missed me. He cried and said he missed me.
I was stunned. My first husband, my former lover, he was begging me... begging me to come home. He kicked Olive out and divorced her. He wasn’t even worried about the consequences. Just so he could be with his love again. Me. He asked me to forgive him when he finally stood up off the cold frozen ground. He asked me if I still loved him. I felt a pinprick in my heart. Of course, I still loved him. The floodgates released and for a brief moment, I was happy again in the arms of Mal... my one true love.
As the sun rose, he kissed me. It didn’t even matter that he burned beneath the fiery orange sky. He was kissing me. And the flood of emotions returned.I remembered my love. I remembered our passion. I remembered the binding. Was it that easy?

Today I rode Arion for the first time. My energy is almost back to normal. I haven’t felt sick in weeks. I am so grateful to Per for taking care of this beautiful creature for me while I was ill. He has been so devoted. He spends time with the twins, and I hear him telling them stories and jokes and playing with them and tickling them. They giggle unceasingly. He crawls around on the floor and pretends his arms are the claw of a ferocious beast and they slay him... well, not really, they just tackle him on the nursery room floor.
He is actually a good father. This was not something I expected. It took Mal a long time to come close to his children, and even as they aged, he did not spend much time with them. When I was ill, he would feel along the walls in the dark at night if I screamed. He moved his bed into the hall during the worst of my fevers so he would be close. I finally let him sleep on my couch because it did not make sense to make a blind man grope in the dark trying to find his way to me.
Per manages to “see” well enough. He’s adjusted to the blindness with the help of his vampiric genes. He has some kind of sonar, and I think he sees flashes of black and white at times, images. He still manages his seat in the city court, and I have heard rumors that he is more efficient and more lenient. When I asked him about the change, he smiled and said I was the reason his heart was changing. He touched my cheek and walked away.
I have not seen my older children in a long while, but somehow the longer I am here, the more comfortable I have become with Per.
I have never been so sick in my life before. I cannot even think straight. I cannot lift my head. Somalyn has been nursing me to health. She tries to use her fae healing spirits, but they do little. The doctor comes on an almost daily basis. The children cry for their mother and I cannot be there for them.
Per is worried about me. I can hear him come to my bed and sit on the edge. He feels along for my forehead. I do not mind. It’s about the only relief I can get. I continue to feel ill for most of the year. He seems so concerned. I can see it on his face.
I crawl to the bathroom. I can barely make it on my own. I have thrown up more than I thought possible. I do not think I have any strength left. I do not know if I will survive the winter.
I think about Mal.
I think of my quadruplets.
I think of my Rigel.
I think of the twins.
Will I see them again?
I think of Per... and I wonder what this strange sick feeling is growing inside of me. I cannot hope to give it a name because if I do I will admit that Mal and I are through. I do not know if I am ready. But my heart thinks otherwise.
Miya is angry often. When she plays with her sister, she is often mean. Mara bites her knuckles when she is scared, and Miya tries to scare her sister often. The twins don’t seem to want to get along. They play “shark” in the snow. One girl is the shark and one is the fish slayer. Miya is almost always the slayer.
Today she pushed her sister’s face in the snow. Mara cried for over an hour. I tried to think up a punishment for Miya. She doesn’t respond to scolding. She doesn’t respond to time out. She doesn’t respond to privileges revoked. She proceeds to vandalize things, break things, scream and throw fits, or sit sullenly and refuses to listen to anyone. When I was cursed, I never would have imagine I would be at the mercy of my tiny daughter.
Tonight I faced the terror of the beast, as the curse promised I would. A woman by the name of Eveline Laurent came to the estate. She had been transformed into a beast. She came to kill Per. She wanted justice. Her lover, Jeremy Stevens had been turned into a vampire by Per, and then he rejected her.
Eveline ran through the house terrorizing the children, and she attacked Somalyn and Per before Samael stopped her. Zaia stood nearby with a small smile on her lips. She has given up on her husband. She has turned cold... like Misel. I shivered.
Since blood fever descended upon Wraith, there has been civil unrest Many of the leaders of the League are ill or dying and people are afraid. There has not been a shipment of new plasma in weeks. The doctor says I will survive because I am half-vampire. My fae genes will keep me.
Per has grown out his hair as a result of his illness. He is weak himself, though since he is accustomed to the vampire genes, he fights the illness at double my strength. He spends time in the stables. He says I must beat my sickness. He has purchased me a black horse named Arion. When I am well, I can ride him he says.
The doctor tells him to come in from the snow, but he bundles up and brushes the horse in the stable. I think it gives him something to do. The horse is a large enough animal that he can navigate around the creature even with his blindness. Then he spends the entire night coughing. I can hear him down the hall. He is not well enough to be out and about, especially in the bitter frosted air.
Zaia spends her days barefoot in the kitchen. She cooks and cleans and fixes broken sinks, but she laughs at Per’s misfortune. I cannot help but feel sorry for him, even after everything that has happened. Even after his torturous relations with me. Even after he turned me. I feel sadness for him.
But I feel worry for the future. Food is scarce, and the people riot in the streets. I know this is my fault. I know this is the curse. That is why I feel sorry for Per. That is why I have opened our gates to feed those who stumble upon our steps. That is why I feel so helpless and hopeless. But I will press on... this cannot be the worst I have experienced.

Three years have past. This year, my quads will be eighteen in Sim years, though well beyond that in Kr’viot years. I do not know. I cannot keep track of the ages and years. They blend all too easily on Kr’v.
I saw Rigel the other day. The snow had let up and melted for the past three days. He looks beautiful... my little boy. But I cannot go near him. I am ashamed of what I’ve become. Melania finally wrote to me. She said,
Rigel is curious, imaginative, and sweet of spirit. Unlike the rest of us here, he seems untainted by the world in which we live. He likes to play along the river banks, snow or rain or shine. He pretends he is a super hero. He says some day he will be a Hulk. He wears muscle shirts, much to father’s disfavor. I think he misses you. He searches for you sometimes. I do not have the heart to tell him. Oh mother, someday I hope to see you again. I miss you fiercely.
My heart breaks and aches at the words of my gentle Melania. I dropped the letter and passed out, weary from everything. A fever has overtaken me. I am told it is the blood fever. The doctor visited me and explained many vampires in Wraith are afflicted with blood fever now. He finds it strange that everyone is sick at once. I know. I know it is because of the curse.
Per is also sick with the same. He came to me tonight, weak and lacking in his usual energy. He collapsed in my arms and cried out that he could not see. I gasped as I knew the truth. The doctor confirmed. Per is blind.
Zaia has given birth to a baby boy named Jacan. She may now return to Percevval. She eyed me angrily as she returned. She despises me and treats me with disdain whenever I am around. It is not as if I chose this.
She knows she is no longer the first wife. I am not exactly Percevval’s wife. I am his first official consort, though I doubt I was actually the first. However, he seems to treat me well now that I have turned. I am a vampire-fae hybrid.
I have moved to Per’s estate and I have regained some of my status and fine things. I have quite an elegant room. Per does not visit me as much, and when he does, he is oddly gentle and almost mellow compared to how he was. I feel less and less repulsed by him, but I have come to accept in this world I have no choice. I am a pawn for the use of men and at the whim of men.
I spend the day with my children, Mara Alyse and Miya Apryll, the fruit of my union with Per.
Sometimes I see Somalyn, Per’s fairy daughter. She is in love with a man named Steve, but her father does not know it yet. Before this harsh winter, they used to meet on the streets every night for their forbidden tryst.
His other child, Samael is engaged to a woman named Allie though he has not yet finished high school. He will be married to her upon his adulthood. He is gentle of spirit. He does not care for the ways of his father.
It has been winter for three years. The snow has not let up. The storms prevail long past their time. I look out at the white and wonder of my children, of Melania and Megara and Mirzande and Malekto and most of all, Rigel, the child of my love... I turned away from the window. I am dead to my lover. I regret so many things, but most of all, I regret losing Mal.
