Simon is curiously looking over Grace's shoulder at what he's working on at his desk. He sees the periodic table in one of the books and does a double take.
"What's with your periodic table?"
"Nothing? Why?" Grace answers without taking his eyes off what he's reading.
"It’s missing a few elements."
"What?" He slides the book across the table to check and looks up at Simon, confused. "No, it's not?"
"Um, yes, it is. It's missing like five," Simon insists, pointing at an empty space next to the periodic table on the page. A space Grace knows is supposed to be there. Then, something dawns on him.
"How many elements are in the periodic table?"
"Really? Do you think I'm stupid or something?" Simon accuses, miffed.
"No, I don't. Please answer the question," he answers solemnly.
"123. I can count, Grace."
"118," he blurts out back.
Grace's eyes are wild and wide, gripping the edge of the table with white knuckles. They stare at each other in silence. Grace watches as Simon's eyes slowly widen in realisation.
"You don't know about the 5 others?" Simon asks, stunned, already knowing the answer.
"We didn’t know there were 5 others!" Grace wheezes back, now fully losing his mind.
He launches himself off his chair to throw himself in Simon's direction, startling him. He has to make a conscious effort not to pull away on instinct. Grace cups his face in his hands.
"Are they stable? Do you know them? Can you tell us about them?" he asks, frantically.
"Yes, yes and yes, of course I can. I went to school."
"Simon, this is going to change everything!" he beams, euphoric.
"I doubt it since it didn't really change things for us but if you say so," Simon says, sceptical but nevertheless happy.
"Oh, it's going to, trust me!" he assures, staring deep into his eyes.
They are burning with such passion that it leaves Simon in awe. Is it possible to love something so much that it sets your heart ablaze? He wants to experience this.
"I need to call Rocky immediately and you're going to tell us everything!" Grace continues, letting go of him to run to the phone.
"Wait, right now?" he asks. That wasn't planned.
"Right now!" he declares excitedly from the other side of the room.
And that's how, one afternoon, Simon suddenly finds himself teaching an Eridian engineer and a molecular biologist about something he'd learned in school as a teen.

If you want to actually fix your sleep schedule you need to consistently go to bed half an hour earlier than the night before AND either keep your wake up time the same OR consistently wake up half an hour earlier as well, until you are sleeping at the times you actually want to be asleep at. This is of course, very difficult to do but does actually work.
Must not pick that scab off. It will not in fact get rid of the scab and just create a different scab. The scab is not done cooking yet. I am completely normal about scabs. <-gripping the edges of his chair so tightly the wood is starting to crack
