âWorse? Whatâs wrong with being the captain? That means you make all the rules, right?â Owen asked, giving a small shrug as he slid into the seat beside her. âReally? âCause you havenât seen me in action yet. I may have zero skills.â

"true but we need eight kids for a team and at the moment if we don't include yours we have three names on the sheet. Everyone is more invested in tourney than anything else so we're not doing as well as we would like" Esme said shrugging as she grabbed her bag and pulled out the sign up sheet
"sign there please, at the first meeting you'll get a release form that your parents have to sign making sure the school isn't in trouble for liability and blah blah blah"

Cassius knew he had to play nice especially since he wasnât at full power thanks to fairy godmother. Unlike most she wasnât dumb enough to trust him which she was smart not to. Sunglasses covering his unnatural yellow eyes since he was told they freaked others he spotted her. Maybe making a friend would make being stuck here less but he tended to doubt that. âHey. You are Esme right?â Thinking he heard someone else call her such earlier.Â
Esme had been tuning her ukulele when she heard the stranger call her name and looked up
"yeah what's up?" She asked as she looked back at the instrument as it got just to where she wanted it to be and moved on to the next tuner adjusting as she went

Hania had her hands shoved deep in her pockets, she hadnât even noticed she had wandered to her sister until she spoke an Hania looked up at her
âAn accident,â she said her voice having a hint less bitterness than usual because of how distracted she was
âI got a letter, apparently iâve been invited to auradon.â This was going to be murder on her reputation on the aisle, no one would ever be afraid of her again unless she could manage to be sent back.
    she thought it felt colder than usual, and, yeah, she was the curious sort. she followed the cold, following it until her arms were wrapped around herself and she was wishing sheâd brought a jacket. followed it until she turned the corner and was faced with snowflakes. actual snowflakes. â this is snow? iâve never seen snow before. â

Vale had been building sculptures again, the only thing he would really use his powers for which resulted in a few inches of snow around his feet and snowflakes falling around him. It felt great to get out and actually use his powers he had just been about to put the finishing touches on an arch he had been making, covered in delicate frozen flowers and creatures that had cinderella and Prince charming underneath it, the two dancing underneath when he heard her behind him and jumped
âWhat are you doing way out here?â Vale asked he had thought he had gone fat enough that no one would find him evidently that wasnât far enough
ây-yeah it is,â he said a little sheepishly, he grabbed his jacket that had been hanging off of a tree branch and offered it to her quickly âYouâll freeze in just a leather jacket like that.â

Hearing footsteps, Evie knew exactly who was headed her way. Sheâd already started busying herself while waiting, and her patience was running low. âYouâre late,â she said simply.
âI know iâm sorry,â Dizzy said hurrying in she really was, she had just lost track of time. âI was doing homework and then all of a sudden i looked up and was late!â it happened a lot, Dizzy would get invested in what she was doing and forget to keep track of time, sheâd been late for several classes and other things as well because of this.
âAre you mad?â she asked a little hesitantly already expecting a âyesâÂ
There wasnât a single person that would have guessed that Carlos would love dogs so much, once he was introduced to a real one and found out how friendly they could be. His mother had scarred him, he thought for life, but all of the bad she had caused him was fading away with the days he spent at Auradon.
It started with the school mascot, having been given permission to take care of him and keep him in his dorm. Then Carlos had seen a stray dog and couldnât help himself; he took the furball in. Then he saw another, and another, and another, and pretty soon his room had enough dogs in it to populate an animal shelter. It was getting more and more difficult to hide them, but when he heard the knock on his door, he managed to get them all shoved into the closet and behind the closed door of the bathroom. The school mascot was allowed to roam free, since he was allowed to have him, but he saw one of the smaller puppies on his way to the door and simply shoved him down the front of his shirt.
âHey, hello, uh, hi. Yes. See? No dogs here, âcept the one Iâm allowed.â The tiny head popped out the collar of his shirt and his eyes widened, but he pretended it had never happened. âNothing to see here, so you can go now.â
Esme had been coming to ask if she could take Duke for a walk, Djali had been kicked off campus again and well she felt like she needed some stress relief playing with adorable animals would do that, even if it did involve knocking on a virtual strangers door to ask to play with the dog for a little while.
So when Carlos answered and was all fidgety she wondered if it was just her until she saw the tiny head peer out of his jacket âClearly,â she said reaching forward and pulling the puppy out so he wasnât hiding any more as she patted the little thing and cradled him in her arms âheâs so sweet! where did you get him?â Esme asked never looking up from the pup as she wiggled her fingers in his face and watched him nip at her hand she couldnât stop herself from laughing a little bit, exactly what she needed.

âBesides I donât really like apples, unless theyâre in a pie or something, I prefer grapes.â Scarlett said she dug through her messenger bag until she pulled out a small container of green grapes, she always had a couple of snacks on her just in case
