Sometimes I see myself as the painter.

I just want to be a city girl,

With country girl heart,

I go up into town, doing my dream job,

Make my way back in my truck,

To my family in my home, not house but a home,

In the country,

Family waiting for my arrival,

Cook dinner and talk about our day,

Go bed and do it all over again,

Nothing special, just simple.

Crazy isn’t it.

Just the idea of normality,

Distancing myself from all the guideline,

society has created,

Just to breath,

Look up at the sky,

And not have to think we’re my phone,

Take in the air around me,

No sky scrapers,

Tower blocks,

Just sky,

Me, myself and I.

I forget, that’s not the generation I was born into.

Perfect blue skies,

Sun shinning,

Laughter all around,

I blinked,

I thought I was dreaming,

But the moment continued.

To see where I’m at,

To see the difference,

Is to see the change in ones self.
