In Finnish folklore, Devil (Piru) isn’t just an evil hunter of souls tempting people into sinful things like gambling and drinking. He’s aware that no matter what bad happens, humans will blame him (and his demons) for it, even when he has done nothing.
Because of this, Devil sometimes helps those in trouble out from sheer “I’m so not up for getting blamed for this shit I have not done!”-attitude.
#I’ve also heard an old finnish story about a woman and a cart. #She was traveling somewhere and the cart slipped of the road to a ditch #The woman cursed yelled damn you devil look what you did #And suddenly her cart is back on the road and she hears a voice #It says I didn’t make your cart go off the road but I helped you because you blamed me #Or something like that #I can’t remember the words exactly
EXACTLY! Finnish folklore Devil is exactly like this. Also humorous and witty and chatty. Can talk with people just to kill time if he wishes.
There’s a story where a man talked with the Devil in his home. They were having just a casual every day chat, when the man asked: “Why don’t you show yourself? I can hear you but I can’t see you.”
The Devil was quiet for a while. Then it answered, with a slightly sad tone: “I don’t dare to do that. I look so hideous you would only get scared and I don’t want that…”
He also really likes dancing a lot. There are countless of stories of The Devil appearing to dance with humans, often in a disguise and someone (or the whole group) later sees through his disguise.
shading colour tips
hey yall its me the Art Mom™ to help you shade pretty
rule 1: DO NOT SHADE WITH BLACK. EVER. IT NEVER LOOKS GOOD.
red- shade with a slightly darker shade of purple
orange- slightly darker and more saturated shade of red
yellow- i think like..a peach could work but make it a really light peach
green- shade with darker and less saturated shade of blue or teal
blue- shade with purple
purple- a shade thats darker than the purple you’re using and maybe a little pink (MAYBE blue)
pink- darker shade of red
white- a really light lavender or blue..or i guess any really light colour??
black- okay listen dont use pure black to colour anything unless you want to leave it with flat colours because you cant really shade black lol
grey- a slightly darker shade of purple or blue (less saturated)
brown- slightly darker and less saturated shade of purple or red
aaaaand thats all i got lol. let me know if there is anything i should add to this list!!

I love it when you can pick up an animator’s quirks.
I’ve read in old interviews with Milt Khal’s fellow animators that he did the swaggle to purposefully show off. Moving the head in 3-d space is an exceptionally hard thing to do but Khal upped the level of difficulty to a place many animators wouldn’t go. Not only are they all doing the swaggle you’ll notice they are all TALKING while they are doing it. This is back in the days where you had to use a timing sheet to pace your animation and a head swaggle doesn’t work if its too slow or too fast so he had to figure out the right speed so it looked natural while the character finishes what they have to say while not interfering with the distinct mouth shapes. Not only did Khal do it without any shifting weight problems or timing issues he would often do it while moving the rest of the body. This isn’t his signature move just because he was good at it.This is his signature move because he was one of the only people skilled enough to DO IT AT ALL.
Milt Khal was a MASTER.
