“Daphne!” Tony sung as he raced up the stairs and down the hall. He was too excited to slow down, tripping once over a pile of laundry he hadn’t bothered to put away, and twice more over his own feet, until he landed at Daphne’s bedroom door. He gave a courteous knock and waited for about two seconds before growing too impatient.

“I have a surprise,” Tony said as he pushed the door open a crack and peeked his head in. “Also, I need a favor.”

Daphne heard Tony enter their home long before he made it into her bedroom--the young man more often than not disturbing everyone and some things every time he came home. Still, his clumsiness never curbed his speed and she was only able to turn her gaze away from the records she’d been organizing on her bookshelf before he barged in. 

“No response doesn’t mean come on in, sugar!,” Daphne snorted with a soft laugh. “I’d like the surprise and I’d love to hear the favor before I sign my name on somethin’.” 

“That was absolutely fascinating. But I don’t understand why you’re telling me.”

“I just mean...I don’t follow the cycles of the moon closely, but the eclipse is 'sposed to be something of a phenomenon. People plan parties ‘round this kind of thing and all. Interesting, yeah?” 

“… Alright well that’s fucked. There’s no fixing that.” Theo muttered under his breath.

“I don’t believe in that kind of pessimism, sir.” Daphne commented intently as she stood back to watch Theo look over the repair she’d called in regards to the air conditioner in room four. “That noise has to stop eventually, doesn’t it?” 

“Oh please tell me this isn’t what I think it is.”

“Aye–you seen a four year old running around with a pack of slightly older children and possibly my niece? I can’t find my fuckin’ kid.” 

“No, I haven’t, sugar,” Daphne responded with the wide eyed gaze of someone who didn’t quite know what was happening, but was immediately ready to help. “Son or daughter?”
