Message: Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays! Jinyuu is such a cute pairing, so hereâs a little fic featuring them!
The Best Present
Jin looked up from his CCM as his doorbell rang. Curious, he glanced at the clock, noting that it was far too early for Ban and the others to arrive. Slipping his CCM into his pocket, he went to the door and opened it, a smile spreading across his face a moment later. âYuuya!â
âHello, Jin,â Yuuya replied warmly, cheeks still red from the cool afternoon air.
âWhat are you doing here? I thought you werenât coming home until the new year.â Jin let him in and waited while he slipped off his boots and coat.
âI decided to come back a little early. I missed you.â Yuuya gasped as he followed Jin into the living room. âWow, your place looks great!â
Jin looked around at the strands of garland and lights that had been stuck to every available surface and smiled ruefully. âAmi is responsible for most of it. Sheâs really into ChristmasâŚâ Tipping his head towards the tree in the corner, he added, âthe tree is mine, though.â
âItâs really nice.â Yuuya walked over to study it, bending over a moment later to take a closer look. Jin could tell that he was looking at the ornament that they had made last year, their initials written in English on both sides of the round silver ball.
âShould we make some more this year?â he asked, stepping up behind Yuuya and slipping his arms around his waist as he straightened up.
Yuuya leaned back into the embrace and nodded. âIâd love to. And next year, Iâll be here to put it on the tree with you.â
âIâd like that.â They stood in silence for a few moments, Jin simply grateful to have the one he loved home in time for the holidays. âBan and some others are coming over for a party later â are you able to stay for it?â
âOf course. I was able to sleep on the plane, so Iâm not too tired.â Yuuya turned around to face him, a gentle smile on his face. âIâm glad to be home with you, Jin.â
âIâm glad to have you home.â
Yuuya blushed slightly at that, his cheeks going even redder as he looked over Jinâs shoulder. âCould you take about two steps backwards?â
Jin nodded and did so, wondering if Yuuya wanted to take a picture of him with the decorations. Yuuya squinted, studying him, then pushed him back half a step. âPerfect,â he said with a sly grin.
âPerfectâŚ?â Jin tilted his head slightly in confusion as Yuuya slid his arms around his neck and pulled him close.
âLook up.â Jin did so, and stared at the piece of mistletoe that was hanging from the ceiling above him. Amiâs doing, of course.
âYes, this is the perfect spot,â he agreed, looking back at Yuuya and pulling him in for a kiss.

Message: happy holidays! i hope you like this and it isnât too ooc or anything like that.
(oh god i donât think i can put readmores in submissions)
Yuuya had never really gotten a chance to experience what was considered an âeveryday life.â He didnât remember much of his early childhood, and his memories of time after he was taken by Kamiya Craftâs researchers were even blurrier. Whether that was a side effect of the countless experiments he was used for or his mind subconsciously repressing those rather traumatic experiences for the sake of his wellbeing, he wasnât sure. In fact, there was a lot that he didnât know about. The world was far more vivid and alive than he thought it could be. There was so much to do, and so much to see that he didnât know where to begin.
Although video games, according to Hiro, would be a good start.
It was that decision that led them to where they were now â standing in the entrance of what Hiro proclaimed the best arcade in the city, located in a large mall downtown. The arcade, named Game Start according to the sign they passed on the way in, was nothing if not loud and bright. All of the patrons seemed to be struggling to talk over the music and sound effects that cluttered the air, and the moderately bright overhead lighting didnât do much to distract from the glare of monitors and flashing lights meant to grab playersâ attention. It was moderately crowded, and the majority of people present seemed to be students their age, with the occasional adult or young child mixed in.
For all the noise and energy, Hiro seemed right at home in it all, which was quite the antithesis of Yuuyaâs wide-eyed staring and slight sensory overload.
âSo? Pretty incredible, right?â Hiro asked, looking over at Yuuya with an expectant grin.
Yuuya wasnât quite sure how to respond yet, but he tried. âWellâŚI wasnât expecting it to be quite thisâŚbusy.â
Hiro laughed. âIf you think this is busy, you should see it during tournaments!â Yuuya gave him an apprehensive look. Maybe he ought to drop that subject. âHow about you and I play that LBX fighting game?â he motioned towards an unoccupied machine, with two platforms and screens back-to-back from each other.
Yuuyaâs expression turned even more confused. âIs it different from fighting with real LBXs?â
âTotally different! Letâs hurry before someone else goes over there,â Hiro replied, grabbing Yuuya by the wrist and dragging him towards the game. Once they reached the machine, he directed Yuuya to one screen while he took the other. The screen displayed âLittle Battlarsâ over a panorama of a grassy field. The game seemed to be controlled entirely on a touch screen, far different from the handheld controllers that LBXs were equipped with. Yuuya stared at the touch screen, trying to figure out the controls beyond placing his hands over the two hand-shaped outlines.
âSlide your hands left and right to move and tap the screen to attack, alright?â Hiro yelled from the other side of the machine, over the obnoxious techno music that was playing over the speakers.
Hiro pressed start, and one character select screen later, they were squaring off in the same field shown on the title screen. Yuuya had chosen a Deqoo and Hiro had picked Achilles, which seemed to have been added to build excitement for the modelâs release. The first thing Yuuya noticed was that Hiro had been right â this was completely different from fighting with another LBX. Moving back and forth felt awkward, and they were restricted to a 2D plane. Tapping the screen with different fingers made the LBX do different attacks, but before Yuuya could figure out any combos Hiro rushed toward him and attacked. He frantically tapped the screen to try to find the block command, but ended up fruitlessly attacking back against Hiroâs effortless string of special moves. The next battle started immediately, and while Yuuya managed to deal some damage to Hiro via frantic uncoordinated tapping, it ultimately ended in the same way.
âGood game, Yuuya!â Hiro called, with utmost sincerity in his voice. Even still, Yuuya felt more than a little embarrassed at being so soundly defeated. He and Hiro were about equal in skill when it came to regular LBX fighting, but here there was a clear gap between them. Yuuya had gotten used to the fact that Hiro knew a lot about things that he had no idea even existed, but this wasnât the same. No matter how much this game differed from controlling actual LBXs, they were still fighting with LBXs. For so long, all heâd known was how to fight, so why was this so hard?
âYuuya? Hey, Yuuya?â
Yuuya jumped slightly, startled out of his thoughts. âHuh?â
âI was right, wasnât I? This game isnât like actual LBX battling at all!â Hiro exclaimed.
Yuuya laughed, starting to feel better. âYeah, I guess it is.â
Hiro left his side of the machine and walked over to Yuuyaâs, standing right next to him by the touch screen and started single player mode. âBefore we fight again, let me show you how to do combos,â he said, eagerness plainly showing in his expression. He would always get like this when he was teaching Yuuya about something he was passionate about. It was almost as though Hiro was more excited about teaching Yuuya things than Yuuya was to learn about them. Not that Yuuya disliked him for it â if anything, it made him feel more comfortable knowing that he wasnât boring or annoying him.
âSure,â Yuuya nodded, watching the screen as Hiro selected the Deqoo that Yuuya used before looking down to watch Hiroâs movements.
Yuuya tried his best to follow the lighting-quick movements of Hiroâs hand as he rattled off long sequences of inputs at a dizzying speed. How Hiro could have possibly memorized this, he had no idea. Sure, LBXs had a similar combo system â but the CCMs had way less buttons to work with. Compared to remembering combos that could get as intricate as tapping the screen with your left thumb and pointer finger while swiping your right ring finger up (but not too far up, as Hiro explained, because the touch screen doesnât register your input too far away from the center), the combo system employed by LBXs seemed blessedly simple â and made the skill gap between him and Hiro seem as wide as a valley. Yuuya was more amazed by this than he was discouraged, though.
âHow long did it take for you to memorize this?â Yuuya asked, and Hiro stopped talking for a moment to think, but didnât take his eyes off the screen as he continued to beat up the poor computer player.
âHmâŚmaybe a couple weeks? I practiced as much as I could every day,â he answered, grinning as he finished off his foe with a flashy special move.
Yuuya was stunned. âThatâs all? Hiro, youâre amazing!â he exclaimed.
âMe? NahâŚâ Hiro laughed, scratching the back of his head and looking down at the touch screen in embarrassment but clearly enjoying the praise.
Yuuya shook his head. âNo, you really are amazing. Youâve taught me so much about this game, and everything else! ItâŚâ Yuuya swallowed, and took a deep breath to clear his nerves. âI-It really means a lot,â he finished, feeling a blush rise to his cheeks.
Hiro looked up at Yuuya, surprised at the sudden confession, but smiled at him after a beat. âWell, you make a great disciple!â he replied in his best Senshiman voice, ruffling his hair playfully.
Yuuya laughed, lightly pushing Hiroâs hand away to try to get him to stop. âThank you, Master!â
âOf course! Now, itâs time for the next step of your training! Once you can beat the computer, we shall fight again.â
They spent the rest of the afternoon doing nothing but playing together, although they never ended up trying any of the other games. It was one of the best afternoons Yuuya could remember ever having.
He decided he could get used to having a normal life.

Happy holidays! I hope theyâre full of cheer and good food for you!
Word Count:Â 469
Characters:Â Sena Arata/Houjou Muraku
â
It took a firm hand on Arataâs arm to stop him from running into every store, and an even firmer grip to stop him from running to every stand with food at it. Muraku hid a small smile as he gently pulled the other boy away from the tempting smell of coco and peppermint, watching Arata pout as they moved away.
âWe can come back later.â He offered, making Arata perk up and start walking a head, tugging Muraku along as they traveled from store front to store front, Arata pausing in front of each display to admire the lights.Â
âMuraku, Murakuâlook, they made a Ferris wheel!â The snow had started to gently drift down again from the grey sky, landing on Arataâs face and tingeing his bare skin with red, âLook at that storeâs tree!â Walking a calmer pace, Muraku caught up to his friend, whoâs eyes were shining like he was far younger than he actually was, âWouldnât it be cool if the dorms could get trees like this? We could have them in the common rooms and decorate them all together!â Arata was chattering excitedly rubbing his hands together, stopping every few words to blow a quick breath onto them, âO-or at least in the school, right? It could be really funâhey, Muraku, do you think we can put up Christmas trees in the Second World?â He grinned at the thought, âWouldnât that be cool?â
âOur commanders might object to it.â Muraku pointed out, and Arataâs face fell a little, ââŚBut it couldnât hurt to ask the other people in your team about it.â Like a piece of elastic, the smile was back on Arataâs face, and he quickly jogged ahead to the next set of glowing decoration, his arm almost slipping out of Murakuâs grip in the crowd.
As the other moved ahead, the Rossius pilot was afraid he had lost the other, and he grasped the air clumsily for a moment as the back of Arataâs jacket went further ahead in the crowd.
âArata?â Part of Muraku was afraid that the other boy wouldnât even be able to hear him, when suddenly a cold hand was around his gloved one, and Arataâs face, complete with red blush from the cold, was in front of his, âAlmost lost you!â He grinned, curling his other, equally cold hand, around Murakuâs, âThat wouldâve been badâanyways, come on!â He started walking again, this time slower and keeping his hands holding onto Murakuâs, âA store up there has special Christmas cookiesâoh, oh, and coco!â Arata kept one hand intertwined with Murakuâs, leading the way now as he talked excitedly about the holiday decorations around them. Pulling his scarf up higher on his face with his free hand, Muraku let himself smile a little more, tangling his fingers with Arataâs.

Message: Here we go, dear jinkaidou, Merry Christmas! I hope this somehow turned out like I hope it would and of course what you hoped to get. FlowershopAU with Arata, Haruki & Implied Jinyuu. Itâs a bit of everything, I guess, because I couldnât decide.
Itâs a small shop near the train station, nothing extraordinary if it wasnât for the colours of the flowers, the blue façade and its sign which depicted a blue star-shaped flower Arata couldnât name. He had walked by many times now without paying it any mind and he probably never would have if his friend hadnât directed his attention onto it.
âFor motherâs dayâ, Haruki tells him when Arata looks mildly confused, standing close so that bright colours were filling his view, the scent of the flowers clouding his mind (and for a second he wonders whether he should buy some for his dad).
âYeah, maybe.â
Arataâs reply his unusual indifferently, shows Haruki that it is not something he thinks to keep on talking about and as far as Haruki knows him he is sure that the topic wonât come up again; heâs wrong, but he doesnât know that at this point, only drags him a few meters further and says they still have some time to buy some sweets and this is all it takes to bring a smile to Arataâs face again.
(Haruki wonders, retrospectively, if it had been a good decision, whether it wouldnât have been better to ignore the shop and keep the thoughts of a motherâs day present to himself â but even if he knows the events which follow after that, heâs still not sure about right or wrong).
~*~
âCan I help you?â
Arata asks himself why heâs suddenly standing in the flower shop just one day later. One the way from school, alone this time, he had only been kneeling in front of the flowers outside the shop before his feet had carried him inside. The interior is not pompous, fits to the simplicity the façade radiates at first glance, nevertheless he doesnât realise the flower seller until he directs this question at him.
âAh, noâŚâ
When Arata eventually looks at him, he sees the young manâs smile, how he beams with joy and he is so baffled that he doesnât know what to say at first, especially when the young man crouches down next to him, still smiling, before he looks at the flowers Arata had his eyes on.
âPretty arenât they?â
He hadnât really realised which kind of flowers he is looking at, still, he nods, because now that he sees the white flowers, they do look nice, just like the young men. (He almost had mistaking him for a woman â his high ponytail, the soft features â but a closer look at his broad shoulders tells him a different story).
âFor a friend, family or someone special?â
In the back of his mind Arata knows that he is merely this friendly to sell his goods, to make a better appearance and earn money, nevertheless he feels that there is more, so the reply âfor my dadâ tumbles out of his mouth before he can really think about it.
âThen we should look for another kind, donât you think?â
Arata doesnât know anything about flower language, but since the worker whose name tag reads Yuuya walks him away from the white blossoms, they must have a rather unfitting meaning (he tries to keep from thinking âbadâ, because itâs not like flowers knew the concepts of good and evil, after all it were the humans attaching letters to colours and meaning to beauty).
âYes, please.â
On that day he doesnât leave the shop with a bouquet of flowers but a large grin and a plan to convince his friend to look forward to.
~*~
When Arata tells him to meet him at the flower shop and not the ice cafĂŠ, Haruki is mildly confused.
And concerned.
He knows his classmate by now, better than he probably wants to (and this means a lot, after all he didnât intend to be friends with him at the beginning, their friendship a mere consequence of a lot of occurrences he doesnât really want to remember), and flowers are nothing he really spend time thinking about. He is rather talking about the newest action film and the merchandise it brought with it, why the heroes are always better than the villains and how amazing the special effects are. Haruki is usually a fan of in-depth plot and not those mindless action scenes but slowly Arata was able to pull him into the universe of action films and now there are more than one action figure gracing his own shelf, after he found himself accompanying his friends to the newest filmâs releases whenever he shows up with a few tickets. He knows him, how much he likes sweets and how he falls easily asleep because he spend to much time avoiding homework with reading comics, but flowers? He would be surprised if he could tell more than the difference between a rose and a sunflower. Besides, he still remembers the last time they stopped in front of the shop, Arataâs mind troubled with thoughts it shouldnât be.
With a sigh, he shakes his head, realising that any worry beforehand isnât going to help and he should just hurry up and meet Arata who is probably already waiting for him. And he is right when he sees him standing in front of the shop.
As soon Arata sees him, he waves, yet before Haruki can do more than utter a âhelloâ, he drags him inside, the surprised yelp accompanied by the chime of the shopâs bell.
âWelcome.â
They are greeted by a man with black and white hair whose in the middle of arranging a gift basket, the theme of motherâs day presented by red and white roses. For a short moment Arata wonders if he should ask where Yuuya is, after all itâs him he talked about the issue, but he doesnât. The young man seems equally nice but he has a more dominant presence even though he appears reserved and Arata isnât sure if he should just go to him, wait for a few minutes or just come back a next time; the seller takes the decision away from him.
âCan I help you?â
Haruki wonders whether he can, because he has no idea what Arataâs intention to show up here is. Or with him, for that matter, so he just stars at his friend who seems to hesitate, another reaction he doesnât see that often.
âYuuya said you were looking for temporary staffâ, he finally answers and while the young man doesnât seem to feel the need of interrupting his work, Haruki is rather confused.
âArata, am I right?â, he says, looking up when heâs finished with tying a red bow around a teddy bear so hat he can secure the last white rose in its plush arms.
âYes!â, is his immediate response, a little bit of weight falling from his shoulders since their coming isnât for naught and he can convince Haruki to do this job with him after all (because Haruki is smarter than he is and can help him with learning in regard to the flowers and his school stuff) so that he doesnât have to do this alone; he doesnât have to do this at all but he really likes to try new things out and this is one chance he might not have again,
âExcuse me⌠Arata?â
Haruki has finally found the words to react, however the other one doesnât give him any chance to voice his doubts, already giving him reasons to an argument he never voiced.
âWe can always catch the train on time since itâs so close and if we donât we can go to the cafĂŠ nearby. Also your mum loves flowers â every mum does â and itâll make her happy to know that her son not only buys her some but also possesses knowledge over it.â
Even though they were reasons Arata preferred â and Haruki has the feeling that he thought a long time about the positives sides he wants him to show â Haruki canât deny the appeal, still, he doesnât think that he should agree, after all âschool doesnât allow us to.â
âWho cares. Itâll be fun.â
He furrows his brow, a sigh leaving his lips and he really questions why they became friends; this is only an attitude Arata can have in terms of important decisions like that.
âAnd you are?â
After listening to their talk for a moment, the young man comes forward, a little smile on his lips to ease his otherwise dominant presence, causing Haruki to tell him his name without hesitance; heâs a bit embarrassed that the two of them were talking like that in front of him and is glad that there doesnât seem to be any other customer at the moment.
âNice to meet you two. Iâm Kaidou Jin.â
Itâs an easy name to remember, thankfully, and wondering whether there are more people he has to address in case he agrees working together with Arata, he looks up to Jin.
âAre you and Mr. Yuuya the only oneâs working here?â
It almost feels like Jin knows what he is thinking about, always a step ahead, but Haruki quickly ignores the thought, especially when Kaidouâs smile slightly widens with his next words.
âNo, there are two more, but we are the owners. âThe Little flower shopâ⌠This is our first work. I doesnât have that much of a known circle yet.â
There is pride in his voice, without a doubt, something Arata picks up as well, curiosity pushing him on, asking something which actually should be obvious.
âHow important are these flowers to you?â
It doesnât take him long to answer, itâs almost an automatic reply to a question he expects daily (but that canât be the case, Haruki thinks, itâs probably because these words mean more than the flowers itself).
âFlowers donât replace an excuse. You canât give them to someone in hope that theyâll do the trick for you and earn you the forgiveness of other people. But they do make people smile, they can carry little messages and most importantly they are pretty to look at. Colourful even.â
He doesnât look like the type to think something like that, and even though Haruki doesnât say it out loud, Jin seems to know what he thinks, as if it was written across his face; he is really good at that; he realises.
âYuuyaâs words.â
This should be everything Haruki needs to know to agree working here, two rightful owners, the simple shop and their ideal, the concept, still, there is one more thing.
âHikaru will scold you for thisâ, he tells Arata, turning his attention back to him, and itâs the most effective argument he has up his sleeves, but Arata shrugs it off.
âYou mean both of us. If he finds out. We donât need to tell him.â
Its such a typical reply of him, and honestly, had Haruki been expecting anything else? Not really.
âI didnât agree.â
âYet.â
Haruki canât believe this, another sigh leaving his lips, and shaking his head in disbelief while massaging his temple.
âNo way, forget it.â
Thatâs what he says but next week he is standing here again, in the middle of the shop, wearing a green apron Yuuya handed him.
âSo, you decided.â
Itâs more of a statement than a question but he isnât mad because Yuuya is always smiling and somehow he wonders if he always had been like that. He must have been, after all his sunshine like smile and flowers seem as if they were meant to be (itâs not, but he doesnât know that, doesnât have to, because Yuuya just wants to forget the times of hospital visits and medicine, just wants to remember the colours of the flowers his friends put on his night stand to paint the white room and fill it with life).
âHaruki?â, he asks again, his smile wavering a bit when he doesnât get an answer right away, fearing that he pressed him into it after all, helping Arata into forcing him to work.
âDo you know every meaning?â
This question throws him off-guard, still, heâs easily able to answer it, with a simple âno, not yetâ and the smile is there again, even when Haruki asks â after a moment of hesitance â about the blue flower on their signs, the one whose name he doesnât even know; this time the answer is easy as well, but merely because he knows its meaning better than the one of any other flower.
âIt means forgive me. Regret for things you have done. Itâs an apology.â
He furrows his brow, thinks back to the talk he had with Jin, and the sound of it doesnât fit well with him, something he also doesnât mind saying out loud.
âItâs rather weird. Jin said that flowers donât serve as ââ
âItâs just a little message, donât over thinkâ, Yuuya interrupts him, causing Harukiâs suspicion to grow and for the first time he wonders what he is exactly doing here.
âSo youâll work with me?â, Arata drags his attention away, an anticipated smile on his lips, so that Haruki canât help himself but to smile lightly and shake his head in amused disbelief.
âI canât leave you alone. In the end you drag another poor soul into this.â
âI wouldnâtâ, he protests, puffing his cheeks and pouting like a child would, something he rarely does around him, a sign that Haruki can allow himself some teasing as well.
âMaybe. You glutton.â
âWhat?â
âYouâre going to spend all your money on parfaits.â
âNo way.â
Yuuya goes back to the counter, to take care of an old lady who bought a gift basket and is laughing lightly, telling him something about âah, the youth of these daysâ when she sees how the young boys have their little banter; he just smiles and tells her that itâs lively like that. She canât deny this and so she bids farewell with a chuckle.
Yuuya looks back at the guys who star at each other for a moment, determination to stand by their opinion before they burst out laughing, Arata louder than Haruki who tries to tone it down.
It goes without saying that both take the job, helping out in the shop and learning more about flowers, how to take care of them but also how to deal with customers, something Arata has surprisingly no trouble with, and of course he spends most of his earned money on dessert.
(Also Hikaru finds out about it at some point, but he keeps from scolding them because he works at a cafĂŠ, so he isnât someone who should throw stones while sitting in a glass house )
And somehow, Haruki thinks, that pointing out the shop in the beginning might have been a really good idea.
A/N: The flower they talk about is a âBlausternâ. The English name should be âblue scillaâ? However the species which is common in Japan but rarely used as an ornamental plant is the âOstasiatischer Blausternâ (Barnardia japonica) which is called Japanese jacinth in English? Languages, man, idk.

From: haruizulou
Message: Merry Christmas moon-blitz! Iâm sorry in advance if this fic is kinda short, and enough fluff, but I really do hope you enjoy reading this! and to be honest⌠I donât really know how the title is related to my story, but I just thought of it, whoopsâŚ
December 25
Yuuya warmed up his hands as he waited outside a cafe.
Itâs been awhile since heâs seen him, after he left for Kamui Daimon, and now heâs traveling the world with one of the students he met in the school.
Sighing, he remembered the day he suddenly just got a text from the boy saying that heâs in town for the season and wants to meet up with him. Excited, Yuuya replied saying when and where they could meet up, which resulted to him standing outside a cafe.
"YuuyaâŚ" turning around to see who called him, he saw the man he was waiting for, Jin.
"Ah, Jin-kun!" he greeted
"Hey Yuuya," Jin saw the boyâs freezing hands and gently held them in his own, "You know itâs cold today, you shouldâve brought mittens⌠And you couldâve waited inside, you knowâŚ"
Yuuya blushed at the contact and said, âSorry about that, I was in a hurry and well, I just wanted to wait for you here and we could just walk in togetherâŚâ
Jin smiled and said, âWell then, letâs go in shall we?â
Nodding, he went in the cafe doors with Jin.
â-
"âŚThat Arata sure is interesting, huh?" Yuuya commented on Jinâs stories of his time in Kamui Daimon and when he traveled abroad with the boy.
The two sat in a quiet corner of the cafe, and they chat among themselves of what had happened after they last seen each other.
Jin nodded as he took another sip from his coffee, âWell, now heâs with his family for the season, so I thought maybe I could visit you. Since Iâve been away for some time.â
Yuuya blushed, âWell, it is nice to see you this season, Jin-kun. And I know how busy you are and how you want people to have fum with LBX-â
Smiling gently, Jin placed his hands on top of Yuuya, interrupting him, âYuuyaâŚâ caressing the back of Yuuyaâs hand with his thumb, he whispered, âI love youâŚâ
Changing his shocked face to a gentle one, he whispered back, âAnd I love you tooâŚâ
And together they said to each other,
                                          Merry Christmas
