Okay i just spent a half hour looking up inheritance rules in england, and while dan is absolutely full of shit about martyn standing to inherit phil's entire estate automatically (you can leave anything to anyone over there, regardless of relationship), there IS a 40% inheritance tax for non-married partners on all assets over £325,000. If you're legally married or in a civil partnership, you're completely exempt from it and just get all of your spouse's money.

So yeah tbh i could see that being a really great incentive to get even a staunch commitmentphobe down the aisle lmaoooo
