This was the first newscast after former first lady Barbara Bush’s funeral service & procession. We wanted to be respectful and share the immense impact she had on so many people. 

In the days after former first lady Barbara Bush passed away, we had team coverage on her life and legacy, and what Houston was doing to remember the woman known as “America’s Grandmother.”

This newscast is a good example of how I incorporate social listening & social media into newscasts. From sharing tweets to letting viewers vote in an interactive poll, we try to make the audience feel involved. 

We lost one of our live shots with technical issues, so the first block is a little shorter than planned. But there was still some good storytelling and fun moments in this newscast. 

This was a fun newscast! We got to do team coverage for the first day of the Houston Rodeo. It’s the one time of the year when Houstonians break out their cowboy boots and hats. 

We dealt with some breaking news when police thought a gunman was on the University of Houston campus. But we still managed to talk about Fat Tuesday, too.

This was a live show from our stage right outside the ballpark for the Houston Astros home opener on 4/2/18. We had some limitations because our three live cameras were on the same source, so we couldn't double box to weather or take as many jib shots as I would have liked, but the show was still jam-packed with action.

It’s feeling very orange in our makeshift newsroom today. We’re getting ready for some live shows from downtown Houston -- right outside Minute Maid Park. It’s the Astros home opener!

When the 2017 Super Bowl was in Houston, we did our shows live from the convention center with all the fans surrounding the set. This one focused a lot on what to expect from the halftime show.

Another fun show leading up to Super Bowl LI in Houston. This was one of a week's worth of live shows at the convention center in downtown Houston, and we were able to show Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri breaking a world record live on air!

The days leading up to Super Bowl LI were action-packed and fun. I was thrilled to produce live shows from the George R. Brown Convention Center in downtown Houston. This was one of them.

It has been so great to have Sara Shookman reporting live from Rio for the 2016 Summer Olympics. Today we explored how northeast Ohio athletes feel leading up to the Opening Ceremony.

The Republican National Convention kept us very busy. This was an interesting show to produce because we had to shift everything around to not be disrespectful and talk over the national anthem. Today is the last day of my six-day work week schedule I’ve had since the week before the RNC started. Phew!

For the second day of the Republican National Convention, we watched Donald Trump become the official Republican nominee in the middle of our live broadcast from Quicken Loans Arena. History being made!

It’s been a very busy couple of weeks. We’re doing extended newscasts at 7 for the week of the Republican National Convention. Monday was particularly fun because Donald Trump’s plane landed in Cleveland during our newscast!

It’s been a pretty crazy couple of days here in Cleveland. We’re finally champions! So we are going “All In” on Cavs champion coverage.

Local chef, Jack Moore of The Black Pig, is turning a popular dessert into a savory meal that could win him a competition among some of the best chefs in the world. We’ll talk to him tonight on Channel 3 News at 7.
