In the continuation of the series of paintings based on Simerian Mythology that I was commissioned to create, I present to you Erishkigal: Goddess of the Underworld.

“Standing Nisa“

Last week, when I finished the "Wings of Protection" painting, I remembered to add a new type of characters to my project. The concept consisted of a small tribe, of very kind and funny beings that were obsessed with the eggs of the Great Owls. During the night, they sneak through the trees and open a small hole in the eggshells. Then they pour the contents into those bugs barrels. As soon as they arrive at the village, they all feast on that night's loot. The problem is that the Owls do not always go unnoticed.

If you're a fan of @thehaunting you probably recognize this one. I call it "Dani's Guilt". That expression of suffering on the character's face with the visual overlay of her boyfriend's glasses create a sense of guilt, almost as if she was the reason he died.

"Ishtar, Goddess of Heaven" is done! Another commission for a series of paintings based on Sumerian mythology.

A couple more sketches for the Elpharae architecture. Slowly I'm figuring out a visual language that works for them.

A bunch of ideation sketches from last night. Managed to sit for a couple of hours and turn on my "work mode". I'm pretty happy with the result as i now have some cool ideas to work with.
