Hi everyone, Mod Fukawa here. It’s been a criminally long time. I know it was irresponsible to go so long without saying anything. So at last here’s an explanation.

First, a little bit of history. Danganronpa RPG began as a passion project. It was an idea born from my desire for a Danganronpa game that I could actually enjoy the gameplay of. I know, sounds weird, but I’ll be frank: I never enjoyed the gameplay of Danganronpa. Danganronpa’s characters alone are what captivated me so much, I think we can all agree this series is home to so many fantastic characters. That’s why I was inspired to create this. Taking this series’ cast, and putting them into a genre I enjoy much more. 

However, over time, I became very, very dissatisfied with the state of  Danganronpa, as a franchise. I haven’t truly enjoyed an installment since Danganronpa 2. I found parts of Despair Girls to be terrible. I loathed Danganronpa 3 (as did many), and I didn’t enjoy v3 either for various reasons I won’t get into here. Anyway, what I realized is that Danganronpa was something I only liked superficially. Since that realization, my passion for the series has dwindled. It took me a while to admit this to myself.

Followers might remember 2017, where I struggled to work on the game due to mental health issues. That’s unrelated to this, but its timing was the start of the slump I had with getting myself to work on this game.

Long story short, TLDR, I lost my passion for Danganronpa so I’ve resigned from the project.

Mod Komaru, who also resigned and has left Tumblr, has similar sentiments as I do about Danganronpa.

All the files had been handed over to Mod Kirigiri. Although busy, she still has interest in making it. If anyone has questions about the current state of the game, she can answer them.

HOW DO YOU BAN THE DIRECTOR OF A VIDEO GAME

We have kept quiet about this for a while. We said in the past that NDRV3 characters won’t show up in the game. That isn’t true. V3 characters will show up in the game. They won’t be involved in the plot at all, however they will all show up somewhere and most if not all will have a sidequest involving them, a special scene when meeting them, or even as a boss. Most of them as bosses will be optional.

We now have a Gamejolt page. I’m still trying to figure out how to use the site, but from now on, this will be where the download for the demos will be, instead of Mediafire.

Wow don't you just love that part in Danganronpa RPG where Mukuro has Togami at knifepoint but thinks about kissing him for some reason? The part you don't see here is Fukawa coming in and blowing Mukuro to smithereens with magic. -Fukawa
