DR Roleplay Help

The following is a list of links to help with roleplaying, writing, or otherwise thinking about any Dangan Ronpa or Super Dangan Ronpa 2 character. That means translations of scenes involving that character…facts about that character, their likes and dislikes, their major character traits, and so on…analysis posts about that character…and anything else I could find. If you have any more links that belong here, message me!

If the character you’re looking for doesn’t have much under their section, I suggest you turn to the “GENERAL FULL-SERIES INFORMATION” and see if there’s anything that would be useful to you there. If you just need to brush up on the character, you could reread their Free Times, for example…otherwise I don’t really have anything to help you, yet. Sorry.

Links for each character are loosely organized from “most objective to least objective” order. In other words, translations go first, then notes on character, then analysis posts, then more headcanon-y things based off of canonical information.

Here are two documents full of everything each of these characters has ever said in-game (as translated by Orenronen), as well as their respective preferred free time gifts. Use these to get a feel for how Ishimaru and Yamada talk…search for something specific Ishimaru or Yamada might have said…refresh your memory on how Ishimaru and Yamada interact with others…form interesting conclusions about Ishimaru’s and Yamada’s lives based on their loved or hated free time gifts…relive Ishimaru- or Yamada-related memories…I don’t know, whatever you want to do. Hopefully they’re helpful!

These are collections of every single thing each of these individual characters said over the course of Dangan Ronpa, as translated by Orenronen. They’re pretty useful for roleplaying purposes! Check to see if the character said a specific thing and if so how often, or skim through to get a feel for how the character talks and interacts with people in general. Great for clearing up misconceptions about characters you may have accidentally inherited from the fandom after not reading the original work in a while, or remembering how Fukawa stutters or how she insults people, or checking for some more minor character interactions like between Celes and Kirigiri or Fukawa and Yamada. Highly recommended for all ages!

I’ve been working on these for a while now, and this is the result of all that time spent, but I also have a sort of bonus I’m going to put in another post.  No prizes for guessing what the bonus is, considering I’m going to post it in like two minutes.

Here’s a collection of every thing Celes says in Dangan Ronpa (as translated by Orenronen). If you’re someone who roleplays Celes, whether on a regular basis or only when randomly assigned to her through the Epicmafia sorting algorithm, this might help!

Each of these links leads you to a document containing every single line that given character has said within the Orenronen LP, as well as their free time gift preferences (except for Monobear, who unfortunately does not accept gifts). Use them to get a feel a character’s speech mannerisms, refresh yourself on a character’s interactions with other characters, check whether a character said a specific thing and if so how often, relive that character’s best moments, read all the Monobear Theater segments at once, and so on and so forth. Fun for all ages! (By “all ages” I mean mostly roleplayers, fanfic writers, analysis posters, mega-Hagakure fans…you know, anyone who might be interested in this sort of thing.)

Here we have, in two documents…every line these two characters have ever said, as well as their Free Time Event gift preferences and some translated gift descriptions for the more important ones. (I can’t take credit for the translation of the gifts, of course, or the translation of the game itself…this is just a collection of all that translated material into one place.)

Skim through them if you want to refresh yourself on their speech mannerisms! Search through them if you want to check for something they’ve said at some point! Read through them for a feel for their character, the way they interact with other characters, etc, etc…hopefully the fanfic writers, roleplayers, DanMaf players, and general Chihiro or Mondo enthusiasts of the fandom will find this useful.

These are basically a collection of all the dialogue the two say in Oren’s translation of Super Dangan Ronpa 2, so you can get a feel for how they speak and how they interact with each character - learn the answers to questions like, “how often does Twogami call someone a simpleton, or an ignoramus?” “what’s the name of the places Hanamura claims to have grown up in?” “does Twogami appreciate Akane’s common interest in food, or is he condescending about it?” That kind of thing.

Also both guides have a list of their free time item preferences - which gifts they really like, which ones they hate, etc., and the translation notes for the important ones.
