I do think that a lot of Hye Jin's behaviors in the last 2 episodes can be explained by her insecurity that she isn't good enough. Du Shik kissed her and told her he couldn't deny his feelings anymore and she wants to walk away. Her response was that she got the answer she wanted but I'm sure she wanted to get away before Du Shik would change his mind and she'd be let down again.

And then she wanted to keep their relationship a secret from the town. I know her reason was that she didn't want there to be gossip, but we do have to remember that she knows the town said that they thought Du Shik was too good for her in the past. And even though she's built better relationships since then, I'm sure that knowledge was on the back of her mind. Her decision to say that they were dating at the end of episode 11 seems even more brave if you view it from this lense because Hye Jin decided that she didn't care what the town would think.

Then in episode 12, we have Hye Jin plowing through her bucket list. If she's still so worried about the other shoe dropping and Du Shik leaving because he realizes she's not good enough, then it would make sense that she'd want to make as many happy memories as possible before their relationship ends. And then there's the whole expensive necklace thing where Hye Jin panics because she thinks that Du Shik has decided she isn't good enough because she likes really expensive things and he's more frugal than her.

I know we're going to get into Du Shik's unknown trauma this weekend, but his trauma responses are going to activate Hye Jin's own trauma responses, so I do think it'll be important to remember Hye Jin's perspective this weekend.
