your brother was finally being drafted into the NHL tonight . he wasn’t any certain pick , but you were still so proud and excited. when you arrived you were seated in the same row as a tall boy with blue eyes and rosy cheeks . your parents had went somewhere with your brother so he could be interviewed. you sat by yourself for what seemed like hours but was only a few minutes. your family finally arrived back to your seats. you had made eye contact with the blue eyed boy countless time through the night and caught him taking glances at you. Your dad introduced himself as well as your family to the rosy-cheeked boy and his family . you shook all their hands , when you got to him he held your hand a little longer than expected and waited for you to make eye contact. “Nolan Patrick” “y/n” you said back with a warm smile . “beautiful name for a beautiful girl..” you smilied as you shook your head at this cheesy pickup line. he asked if you’d be down to make a simple bet with him. up for anything you agreeded ,” depends on what your putting down , Patrick” he let out a small laugh before telling you more about this bet. “well y/l/n , if I get picked In the first five tonight , you have to give me your number . “ regardless , you’d give this cute boy your number . you shook on it and sat back down in your seat. currently they were announcing the 2nd nhl draft picking “ The Philadelphia Flyers select Nolan Patrick” . He stood up and embraced his family . as he was hugging his mother he winked at you. He nervously made his way to the stage. you could tell how proud he was of his accomplishment and you, only knowing this boy for a half hour , were proud of him . Nolan’s family had left their seats to meet him . your brother was selected shortly after being 4th draft pick for the maple leafs . Now it was your turn to head backstage with your family . hoping you’d see nolan because you’d be sick if he left without your number . you spotted him taking pictures with his family but looked away before he caught you. You were waiting for your parents to be done getting their pictures taken when you felt a hand on your lower back right above your butt. you spun around to be faced with Nolan himself . you could tell he was excited and happy to see you again. “ 2nd pick y/l/n you know what that means “ he unlocked his iphone and handed it to you so you would enter your phone number. he wanted a contact picture so he asked one of the stage crew to take a picture of the two of you. he snaked his arm around your waist as you leaned into his shoulder . The picture was adorable , you guys definitely made a good couple. you sent yourself the picture and saved nolan’s contact . Nolan is shy but he doesn’t beat around the bush. he gets straight to what he wants which was a lunch date with you tomorrow . His family called him back over so he gave you a long hug, his hands went down your arms and grabbed your right hand. he placed a kiss on your hand before telling you he was already looking forward to lunch with you tomorrow . he walked back to his family and gave you one last smile before leaving the backstage area. The night was one you’d live over a million times if you could. Nolan texted you as soon as he got to his car (he drove with his parents so he’s not texting and driving.) you spent the rest of the night texting nolan and planning your outfit for tommorow .

you have just landed your first major job as an in arena host for the Philadelphia Flyers. You majored journalism in college for four years now and were glad it was paying off. Tonight you’d meet the Flyers for the first time. The game was scheduled for 7pm , but you had to be there at 4pm. As you got out of your car to enter the Wells Fargo center , you noticed a player holding the door for you. “Thank you so much “ you said as you grabbed the door from him. He didn’t move, instead stuck out his hand “Nolan Patrick, a pleasure to meet you “. You felt instant relief at how nice you were already being treated , “y/n , back at ya “ . You looked over your shoulder before closing the door, out of habit, when you seen another player heading towards the door . You heard the deep voice from earlier, “TK just in time to meet the new host “ he said with a chuckle. The somewhat small boy smiled a little before face planting causing you and Nolan to crack up hysterically. He got up quickly, laughing himself “I’m already falling for you” he joked ,also sticking out his hand for yours. You introduced yourself for the second time tonight and hurried inside because it was starting to get windy. You walked into the press room where you were met with the rest of the team. Hextall took this as an opportunity to introduce you to the team as he called out their names , each giving you a simple nod or some other form of cheerful greeting. You introduced yourself and thanked them for this opportunity . You were in the corner talking with some of the bosses but began feeling distracted by the many eyes on you. The young players were caught checking you out and sent to the locker room . You chuckled to yourself because they were making this so easy for you. You already felt so liked. The Flyers obviously ended up winning this game (you’re crazy if you think I was going to say they lost lol) As you walked back from the bench you went to the press room and waited for the list of people you’d be interviewing tonight , giving the players time to shower. With each list came a name and a set of questions for each individual. Your first player was non other than #11 himself. You took a liking to him within the short time you’ve spent with him . You were sent back to the locker room to began your interviewing . You walked over to TK and when he seen you coming his way, a smile grew on his face. A few teammates teased him because they already knew of his new crush on you. You made a bit of small talk before the interview began where he threw in a few compliments. He would not break eye contact with you the whole interview almost as if he knew of the reaction he’d get from you. Afterwards, he asked you to go to chickies and Pete’s with him and a few teammates because he wanted to “get to know” you better. You could tell he was nervous when he finished with the “if you want , you don’t have to “ you cut him off by telling him you’d meet him in the press room when you were done. The night was well spent and definitely one to remember . The day you started your career and met the love of your life.
