just got twitter and im about to delete it why is smoshtwt so against damangela

i mean this sincerely as someone who came into the fandom, like, only months ago. was there any earlier issue that people hold on to re: damangela fans? i know some in the fandom go overboard but i kinda find it a little off that it's somehow been treated as the collective mind of damangela ppl. like some people treat "i know damien's'" as "hah hah caught you, you two fucking aren't ya", but for me, you know how fictional ships work on paper but would totally blow up in real life? yeah. that's how i see them. so i don't "ship" them like that. they're a concept to me atp. where is the dislike coming from. :( i literally wrote a fic trying to process this and i still have zero answers.
