Dalhousie now has an institutional subscription to Covidence. This means that Dalhousie-affiliated users can now create unlimited amounts of reviews on Covidence. Covidence is a systematic review management tool that allows you to upload your citations to the website, and then to screen the articles according to your inclusion/exclusion criteria. The Kellogg Library now has AccessMedicine! This resources gives you access to the Current Medical Diagnosis and Treatment, the Practice Guidelines in Primary Care, and the Pocket Guide to Diagnostic Tests databases. You can also check out their  AccessLange Basic Science Series and Clinical Reference Series. 

It’s been made easier to navigate by using the bar above and clearly highlights when there have been updates to the information. There’s also an app which allows you to access the information when offline after signing up for a free account.

As we celebrate both African Heritage Month and the 150th anniversary of the founding of the Dalhousie Medical School, the Faculty of Medicine has completed a profile and interview on Dr. Chadwick Williams, one of the first African Nova Scotians to graduate from Dalhousie’s Medical School. BMJ Best Practices has great new features! You can search for items by search bar or by specialization, and have access to over 200 calculators, 348 patient leaflets, and procedural videos available for viewing. There is a new Evidence feature in which BMJ partnered with Cochrane Clinical Answers to create the best evidence practice documents. Click here to check out these new features! 

The videos are organized by skill level and type of care. 

Scientist love Twitter, and visual abstracts seem to be retweeted more often than tweets with just visuals or links. Annals of Surgery found that visual abstracts create interest and convey complex information without going over Twitter’s character limit. This is a must read for whoever has a publication or research they want to promote!
