âWell, thatâs settled then.â Tilden felt his insides growing warm at the prospect of being alone with Daisy. He hated these moments, where he was so caught between wanting to declare his love for her in the Great Hall and shoving fifty kippers in his mouth just to have something to do with his face. In the end, he decided on a solid middle ground. âDâyou think youâahâmight want toâermâtake a picnic out by the lake? Ifâitâs notâI mean to sayâdâyou fancy it?â He groaned internally. Youâre an idiot, Toots! Pushing your luck!Â
"A picnic?" She asked, suddenly feeling a little flutter of panic. Or was it excitement? Maybe a little bit of both. All she knew was that a picnic sounded suspiciously like a date and she wasnât sure if she was ready for a date with Tilden. âWell maybe...â She couldnât think straight, her head was still pounding from her hangover and she needed more coffee. âIf this morning is any indication Iâm not sure how much Iâll be eating.â She said, gesturing to her barely eaten toast. Was the idea of a date with Tilden really so bad? He was sweet, and cute and her best friend, so why was she so apprehensive?

âGreat.â Dom placed the toad back on the floor, where it quickly hopped up onto his shoe. He nudged it off carefully, but it hopped right back on, and Dom rolled his eyes, âHow do I get rid of it?â
"It seems as if you have a new friend." She chuckled as she watched as the toad persisted to get back onto Domâs shoe. âI donât think thereâs anything for you to do. Congratulations youâre now the proud father of one very well dressed toad.â
marlene was quick to pull the notes towards the other with a slight smile as she shakes her head.â donât worry about it, daisy! i donât need any notes back, just return them to me when youâre done, yeah?â
Daisy smiled happily taking the notes. âBless you Marlene!â She exclaimed, quickly looking over the notes. âI could kiss you right now, I really could. How do you manage to stay awake during this class? I swear Professor Abernathyâs voice is more effective than a sleeping potion.â
Kenny was notoriously annoying to his professors because he was the exact definition of wasted potential. He never took notes, only did the most basic of homework assignments, then got a nearly perfect if not perfect score on every test. He was beyond infuriating. So he was surprised when Daisy asked him for notes as if he ever took them. âI donât have any to give you,â he shrugged nonchalantly.
Daisy groaned, slumping down in her seat and rolling her head back in frustration. âThan I am doomed!â She exclaimed, a little too loudly for class, earning her a few disapproving glances from her fellow classmates. âThis is my second arithmancy class that I have zoned out in and Iâm completely behind.â She sighed, her shoulders slumping in defeat. âI should just give up.â
Tilden snuck a kipper from his place, shoving it in his mouth and chewing quickly. âWâwell you donât have to promiseâthat isâIâd never expect you near my nether bitsâI mean, not that I have thought that much about itâMerlin, Iâm saying a lot of things.â A furious blush worked itself over his cheeks. Why does he have to have been born with skin that shows everything. âAhânether bits aside⌠what are you up to today? Fancy a stroll on the grounds this evening? I saw this brilliant patch of wildflowers near the lake.â
Daisy lifted a hand to cover the giggles escaping from her lips. She was torturing the poor boy, it was obvious from the flush of his cheeks but he was so cute when he was flustered, it was hard to resist. âAre you alright Tilden? Did some kipper go down the wrong pipe?â Teasing Tilden always put her in a good mood, no matter how hunger over she was. âI would love a stroll.â She said, her heart warming at the thought of a quiet evening with Tilden. She may have a reputation at Hogwarts for being a bit of a party girl but sometimes she felt as if she would trade all the nights she spent partying for one wonderful night taking a walk with her best friend.Â

âDonât worry, Daisy dear, youâre still the most beautiful flower to ever come out of Wales.â His grin widened. âOf course they feed me, but the atmosphere is so much better over here.â Tilden nudged her gently. âI know better than to try to come between you and your drinks, love. I donât think itâs a great idea to deprive a witch of what she wants when sheâs cleverer than you and wielding a wand.â Despite his teasing, he does position his plate away from her so the smell wonât reach her. âI value my nether bits too much to say no to you.âÂ
âTilden, stop it.â Daisy said smiling bashfully at him. It was probably Hogwartsâs worst kept secret that Tilden was in love with her, it was painfully obvious, especially when he said things like that. Sometimes Daisy thought there was a possibility that she loved him too, and that was more terrifying than anything. âSometimes you have to make a sacrifice Tilden, for the great good.â Her heart filled with love for Tilden as he moved the plate away from her, and she swore she could have kissed him in that moment. âAnd I would never go after your nether bits Tilden, you have my word.â
There were very few subjects that Daisy did not enjoy, she was a Ravenclaw after all, through and through, but the one class she simply could not stand was Arithmancy. The endless stream of numbers bore her more than anything else and she often found it difficult to keep her eyes open during class. âDo you mind if I borrow your notes after class?â She whispered to her desk mate. âIâll trade you for my History of Magic notes, theyâre probably better than your textbook anyway.â

ABOUT
Daisy is the youngest daughter of a muggle born father and a half blood mother. When Daisyâs father received his Hogwarts letter his deeply religious family sent him away to live with an older aunt, unable to accept his magical capabilities. From that point on Daisyâs father turned his back on the muggle community, he was a wizard first and foremost and never looked back. The Hookums were a prominent family in the Welsh wizarding community and Daisy was rarely exposed to the muggle world that her father came from and the family she never met, but it always fascinated her none the less. Â
The youngest of four Daisy was always a bit of an afterthought. Her parents loved her but by the time Daisy came along they were both busy with her and three other children. Daisy was often left to her own devices, and could be described as a latchkey kid. She didnât mind, she liked having her own independence, even as a child.Â
Daisy was one of the faster sortings in her year, the hat barely took any time before sorting her in Ravenclaw, just like her parents. She was studious, quiet, shy and like many Ravenclawâs always had her nose in a book. She particularly liked books about other peopleâs adventures and muggle history books.Â
Over the years Daisy outgrew her shyness and made a strong group of friends. She was neither exceedingly popular nor unpopular, she was just Daisy. Even though she had grown out of her shyness she was still quiet and slightly awkward, and found more comfort in books than people. In the pages of a book she could escape, and imagine all the adventures she would have once she finished school. She dreams of becoming an author and journalist when she graduates.Â
Itâs always the quiet ones, after spending all day in the library you could always find Daisy at a party. She may not seem like the type to be throwing drinks back nightly but she could drink with the best of them. After a few drinks the quiet girl comes out of her shell and Daisy is a whole other person.Â
Tilden beamed with pride. âWell, I bloody hope so. My mum sent these.â He started pulling kippers and eggs toward him, loading his plate up. âTheyâre from home. One-hundred percent Welsh flowers.â He shoveled a forkful of food into his mouth, chewing happily. âYou look great, for someone whoâs risen from the dead. Howâre you feeling?â He lifted a hand to her forehead, checking her temperature (as if that would help diagnose a hangover). âLast night was fun, even though I had to be up at five to check on things in the greenhouse.âÂ
âOh theyâre Welsh, that must be why theyâre so beautiful.â She smiled, looking down at the colorful flowers, loving them even more now that they were from Tilden and herâs home. Daisy's nose scrunched up as Tilden shoveled copious amounts of food onto his plate, the smell of kippers filling her nose and making her feel a little woozy. âMerlin Tilden, donât they feed you at the Hufflepuff table?â She groaned, looking from his pile of food to her plain toast that she had barely managed to take a single bite out of. âI do not,â She said rolling her eyes, Tilden always thought she looked great, he could not be trusted to make an unbiased opinion. âI feel like the dead, why didnât you stop me after my third firewhiskey?â
âThis green fucker yours?â Dom held up the gnarliest toad heâd ever seen - it would not leave him alone, and based off the fucking stupid bow tie it was wearing, it was someoneâs pet. Unless toads as a whole had suddenly gotten into fashion while he wasnât paying attention.Â
Daisy scrunched up her knows at the toad currently being shoved in her face. âUm no,â She said rolling her eyes and turning back to her book that she had been engrossed in before Yaxley rudely interrupted. âI have an owl thank you very much, toads make awful pets. Theyâre always wondering off, case and point.â

Daisy had been staring at the same slice of toast for what felt like hours but was probably more like five minutes. She was suffering from a hang over to rival all others and she had barely been able to get down the potion that she always brewed after a long night, let alone eat a piece of plain toast with butter. She didnât think that anything could save this morning until a small bouquet of flowers were dropped  next to her plate. âThese might be even more beautiful than the ones from yesterday.â She said, turning to smile at Tilden as he sat down next to her at the Ravenclaw table.Â
