mom said it's my turn to run the cult

The day was getting worse, and it felt as though I was being thrown left and right without any clear purpose or even my memories to explain what everyone was talking about. I killed people? He must have been joking, or something. And… I haven’t had any real run in’s with ‘what science can do’ besides the trip I just took around the center. I wanted to go home. 

So I did.

I walked back home, exhausted. 

“YOU!!” A small voice rang out from the living room and a young girl slid into the hall. “Brother! You were gone all day! You didn’t leave a note! You didn’t text! You had me so worried!” She ran up to me and hugged me regardless of her anger. I apologized, and hugged her back.

“I made you lunch, well, I made myself lunch and left you some noodles.” She told me and we walked into the kitchen. Grabbing the left over’s I sat down with her and listened to her tell me about the show she was watching on TV. 

She’s rambling a lot, some of what she’s saying makes sense but it’s not exactly easing my mind. The room we enter is large and countless people are rushing around and talking and shouting to others. It’s stress inducing to say the least, as I watch people hurry around carrying metals and glowing objects and things I’ve never seen before. “What… Is this?” I mutter, but the girl doesn’t answer me, she’s lost in taking in the sight. 

In the middle of the room someone is standing, they turn and lock eyes with me and it’s as if the world slows down. The whole room is swirling around them, and they in the center are the eye of the storm. 

“Are you satisfied?” He asks me, though, I don’t understand his question. I am stuck staring at him in confusion and disbelief. I know this person? I know him. Some how … I-

I wake with a start, and breath in sharply. The first thing I notice is a pain in my ribs, and the fact I can’t remember anything. Well, that’s a lie, I know my name, my age, who I am, and typical knowledge, I just can’t remember what i’ve been doing. 

I think it’s time we start to spread our message to even the people before us, let’s change history…

Yeah, of course you can stay over for the night. I hope the trip over wasn’t too much if a hassle, the Zolorian Empire has been cracking down on all of that security stuff since Bessanak Noditus started acting up again. 

You have so many resources and I’m even offering you a handicap because of your lesser intellect and yet you’re still complaining? Look at all of the textbooks on the walls and even the notebook I’m offering you, and yet you say you can’t write me a paper? That does it, I’m going to fail you.
