Do you think people with different goals can get together? And love each other?
I certainly believe that if two people have feelings for each other. Well thats a start. But you can’t decide your whole life on the basis of your mere feelings. That’s why when you get to know each other, spend time with each other, you come to know if you are compatible with each other or not. I always say mental compatibility is everything.
You don’t have to like the same things, but the tendency to not enforce your decisions on the other the person, and them understanding our insecurities, respecting them, and not making us think that maybe we’re too differently wired for this world, tells a lot about the other person. And yeah, they’ll never make you feel that you are unlovable. Never ever.
And i think compromise is a part of every relationship, but when youre with THE person it doesnt even look like compromise to you, because you do those things happily for your person.
You water each other’s mental health. And grow together. Goals come right after. If you have a stable loving relationship with a person. I think you’re more motivated to reach your goals, because you want your person right their by your side to see it. Everybody has different goals, that’s the beauty of a stable happy relationship i guess that you be there for their goals, and they be for yours, no matter how different the goals are. When people are compatible they happily do things for their person, that they never thought they’d be doing.
And not to generalize it in anyway but it depends on each person differently too. Like not everyone would be willing to delay their goals a bit later, for their person. I know. I, for one, have many many goals and there’s not a thing i won’t do to get to them. For instance, i wanted to travel to these certain beautiful places all over the world. But i love her more than anything. So I would delay my goals, marry her, help her achieve hers, and then achieve mine, with her by my side. Maybe the little money, i would have saved for my travel, i would put in hers? A trip to Venice instead of Barcelona doesn’t sound half bad now does it?
It isn’t compromise. Not even one bit. ALL HAPPILY AND WHOLEHEARTEDLY. When you meet someone incredible, you put their dreams, their goals ahead of yours. You don’t leave yours for dead. No. You just delay them for a bit later, and watch her glow like a little lady bug. Maybe that’s the beauty of it?
