try hurt me it takes lot more than you think ive had tail almost cut off twice
you care so much must love me
You’re impossible. You don’t even speak proper English. Why am I wasting my time on you? Because you’re just that irritating? Probably. But definitely not because I love you. I would never love something so violent and feral and selfish.
As for whether or not I could hurt you, I’m sure Hal would do it for me. He could rip apart something like you. Or at the very least break your wings. Leave me alone and we’ll never have to find out.

“I should be asking you that, considering you’re invading my home, bromeo,” he answered simply, a grin upon his face as he spoke so casually. It’d been far too long since he’d last had a conversation with anybody, and the blonde didn’t even try to run as soon as he was able to clearly see the ghost. He’s grateful for that.
“My name’s Hallian, and I’ve been dead for almost ten years now. I’ve spooked off a lot of people because I don’t exactly want any uninvited roommates, you know? Especially not if they’re going to throw out everything I own. But you seemed fun to talk to, easy to scare, and that’s why I’m making you wear my shades–so you can see me. Of course if you’re not into that, I have plenty of clothes you could throw on instead,” he rambles.
“...o-oh.” He hadn’t thought about that. Flustered (but managing not to stutter), Theo attempts to explain himself. “I’m sorry, Hallian. Uhm. I didn’t really expect there to be a ghost. People tell all sorts of stories and-- yeah, I brought all this equipment and stuff-- but I wasn’t actually anticipating that someone had been living here. I’m not here to be a roommate or anything. I just wanted to see if ghosts were... real.” He pauses. “Which I guess they are.”
Theo listens to the ghost’s ramble, figuring that he was talking so much because it’d been so long since his last friend. He sort of gaped at the time-frame that Hal referenced, though. “Ten years?” Theo repeated in disbelief. “That means you died when I was six. That’s crazy!” He sort of chuckled, sheepishly fiddling with his fingers.
“And-- I think I’m okay with these. I would rather wear some dusty shades rather than a shirt with a bunch of moth balls.”

You again?
you loooove me
me lizard? i know you are but whats am i
I don’t love you. You are a nasty beast that lives in a disgusting forest and you are absolutely filthy. If you come any closer than that I’m going to hurt you. Don’t touch me.
Oh no, had the human heard him? He didn’t think he would, didn’t think it even possible. And as he looked at Theo, Hallian could quite literally see the blonde trembling, and he could hear how his voice stuttered, and he felt guilty because he caused that. He was a ghost, scaring people was their thing, wasn’t it?
He really didn’t want it to be.
Probably not for the better, Hal made the decision to test something he’d only heard of once or twice–that if a human wears something that belongs to the ghost then they can see that ghost. That’s what he heard anyway. So for a moment, Hallian disappears into his closet, only to return–and faster than Theo could react–to slip a pair of triangular shades onto his face, pushing them up the bridge of the human’s nose with his index finger. If he turned out to be wrong, surely he’d end up alone again, but hopefully that wouldn’t be the case.
“Did it work?”
He probably should have avoided the strange floating anime hazards as they rushed towards his face, but for some reason, Theo stayed put. He blinked once-- then twice-- and when his eyes focused behind the shaded triangular glasses, he... well. He wasn’t sure what he was supposed to do. Leaving a question unanswered seemed impolite, though-- especially now that he could see the ghost that was keeping him company.
“Uh... y... yes?” Theo’s brow quirked, uncertainty coloring his features in place of the fear that had been there before. The sensor, though still in hand, had been all but forgotten in favor of examining the features of the boy(?) in front of him. Who was he? How could he see him so clearly? And most importantly--
“Who are you?”

Stop that. Stop purring. Stop grinning at me with that stupid little smile. You are a giant overgrown human lizard and you are very unwelcome here.

It was cute, really, how the human walked around as if he knew what he was doing. Hallian decided to further indulge him. Keeping a few inches above the ground, he stayed in front of the investigator. He brushed his fingertips against the device in the other’s hands, making his presence quite clear.
“Are you scared yet?” The question wasn’t asked with the intention of receiving a response. He was dead after all.
“...Oh my go-...”
Are you scared yet?
Theo felt a giant shiver run down his spine as a disembodied voice spoke. He wasn’t sure where it had come from or why he could hear it or if he was even actually hearing things, but dear lord did it scare him to death. He dropped the hand-held interference sensor and the device clattered to the ground loudly enough to startle him twice.
He wasn’t cut out for this kind of stuff and he doesn’t know why he even had the delusion that he was.
“W-Who’s there?” He demanded, scrambling to pick the sensor back up and wave it around like it would protect him. It wouldn’t-- he knew that-- but at least he could pretend.

Hi. I’m Theo.
Who are you?
amarexfelis
Hello! My name is Theo. It’s very nice to meet you.
as long as it isn’t interrupting or anything! i don’t sleep much so i won’t be a nuisance. i can even sleep on the floor if need be. and that would be great! i’d try my very best if it helps. and hey! no worries, it isn’t to bad if i cheat a casino. i may not know how to play poker, but i always win. and– i won’t ask if it makes you uncomfortable. not to mention i am a guest, so i should respect your morals. definitely. and you’ll have to tell me all about earth.
No, of course not! I wouldn’t invite you if I wasn’t serious. And heavens, no. You are a guest. You will be sleeping on the couch, not the floor, and that is final. What kind of job would you consider getting? I could start looking for one now, if you want.
Oh, well. If it’s a casino then I don’t feel as bad. People should know better than to gamble with their money! I won’t ask you how you always manage to win-- that’s probably something that just comes naturally to you, right? And... thank you. I would rather not talk about her. Assuming that was what you were talking about.
It’s a deal!

“You want to… kiss?” The inquiry came soft, quietly leaving the android. He hadn’t thought about that before, or at least not beyond a purely educational standpoint. To initiate such an action, and to participate in it, meant quite a lot to Hallian. But slowly he tilts his head down so that their noses are brushing, their lips just millimeters apart. The whirring in his chest became loud, clear to the both of them as Hal’s hands slipped down to gently grip the front of Dirk’s shirt.
“Yes, okay. We can do that,” he murmurs, his voice still soft and tender before he almost cautiously presses his lips onto Dirk’s. He can’t help but savor the feeling of such delicate flesh against his own synthetic skin. Only after Dirk breaks the kiss and catches his breath does Hallian once again speak.
“I think that we should do that again sometime.”
He’s... surprised. He hadn’t expected Hal to kiss him. His first reaction is to reject the kiss-- the only person who had ever kissed him on the lips was her, but Hal feels different. His lips are colder and smoother and though they’re not wet, they’re not dry either. The whirring of Hal’s fans is like a pleasant buzz in his ears, his eyes slipping closed as their mouths pressed together. Dirk finds his hands on the android’s waist, holding him steady, holding him close. It’s almost unfair how Theo is the one that has to break the kiss because he needs to breathe.
But he loved it. Instead of responding to Hallian’s statement, he simply does just that. He kisses him again. And this time he smiles as he does so.
The living being was about as startled as Hallian had been, and for some reason, that made the ghost laugh, though the other couldn’t hear it. He couldn’t help but think that tonight would be fun.
As the afternoon progressed, Hallian kept a close eye on the intruder, following him around like a lost puppy dog and watching with curiosity as he set everything up for the night. Occasionally he’d even make a comment or two as if the blonde could respond.
Whether or not the devices were set off remained up to the ghost and if he decided that he wanted to set them off, and of course, how could he pass up such an opportunity? It’d be all too amusing to scare off the human.
But at the same time, did he really want to be alone again?
As the daylight began to fade in favor of the pitch black night, the ghost went about beginning his haunting. First he started with something simple. Allowing his feet to finally touch the ground he walked up the stairs–stomped up them more like–creating quite loud banging. As soon as that was done, he floated into his bedroom and decided to alert one of the devices, causing it to whine out a response to the supernatural being’s touch.
Ghost hunting investigating involved a lot more sitting and twiddling his thumbs than he thought it would be. Sure, night time came around, the spooks were supposed to start. But how long was he going to have to keep checking these monitors and seeing nothi--
STOMP STOMP STOMP STOMP STOMP.
Theo looked up in surprise as heavy thumping sounds came from the stairs, like someone was intentionally throwing a tantrum as they headed up to the second floor. It startled him, certainly, but at least he didn’t scream. And then the alarm for the-- second bedorom?-- went off.
Whelp. That was his cue.
With a handheld monitor in his left and the banister in his right, Theo carefully made his way upstairs. The steps creaked under his weight (they hadn’t underneath the sound of the stomping, so that was indicative of a ghost, right?) and as he reached the second floor, Theo started waving the device around in a slow arc, the way he’d seen it done on TV. That was really where all his expertise was coming from, honestly, so maybe this wasn’t the best of ideas. What if it was a poltergeist, after all?
...Well. He’d deal with that whenever it happened.
