Brynn reluctantly took the money, knowing her big sister wouldn’t back down. “Thanks, Immie.” She said before putting the bra away. “It’s so pretty, I can’t wait ‘til I can wear it and look like you and Lizzie.”

“Honey, boobs aren’t the only thing that changes when you go through puberty. There’s lots of not-so-nice stuff, too.”

Brynn shook her head stubbornly. “I don’t care! I wanna be grown-up, I’m tired of being the only little kid in the family!” She pouted and stomped her foot in frustration.

Brynn grinned mischievously and grabbed Imogen’s hand, pulling her upstairs to her room. The girl dug around in the very back of her closet and emerged a moment later holding a small cupcake-patterned bra. “I saved up my allowance and bought it myself!” She said conspiratorially, making sure her door was closed so Kurt and Blaine wouldn’t find out.

Following nervously, Imogen raised an eyebrow as she saw the bra. “Honey, you don’t have to waste money on things like that. Not when you don’t even need it yet.” She checked the price-tag on the back of the bra, and handed Brynn the money for it. “Here, sweetheart, so Dad and Papa don’t notice that your allowance is gone.”

“Ugh, 11? That’s way too long to wait!” Brynn grumbled. “I wanna wear a bra, I saw some at the mall that were for girls–not grown-up ladies like most bras–and they were so cute! My favourite one had cupcakes on it.”

“I’m sure it was super cute, honey. And I’ll even buy it for you when you get to that age, okay? But not yet. You’re still my baby sister!”

Brynn grinned mischievously and grabbed Imogen’s hand, pulling her upstairs to her room. You and Lizzie have them, I want them too!” She pouted a little bit. “All Dad said when I asked him was ‘uhhh, not for a few more years probably’ and his face was all red.” Brynn’s impression of Blaine was scarily accurate, and she rolled her eyes a little once she was done imitating her father’s off-guard response.

Imogen coughed. She hadn’t expected her sister to be this outright. “Uh- well- me and Lizzie are a lot older than you, honey. You’ll get them when you go through puberty, which usually starts when you’re 11. I started going through puberty at 10, but some people can go through it when they’re six, or seven.”

Blaine smiled and mouthed “thank you” to Imogen, disappearing into the kitchen to wash the dishes. Brynn squeezed her big sister’s hand and nodded enthusiastically. “Sure, Immie! What d’you wanna talk about?” She asked.

“Well- uh. Dad says that you’ve been asking about stuff, like when you’re going to grow- up. I thought that you might want to talk to someone who’s been through it all, honey. Also, Dad’s a tiny bit embarrassed.” She grinned, tickling her sister gently. “So, do you have any questions, love?”
