Like the Dollmaker is an absolute disgusting human being who subjects innocent women to a fate far worse than death, but when I read the internet hoax that inspired his character I am reminded that we could’ve gotten worse and I am grateful that dev!Adam decided to tone it down a bit… (seriously, it’s bad)

Father Donald is also a really shitty person but I feel like his character hits different when you’re a Christian and not in a good way. Like ppl who claim to follow God but don’t and instead use His Word to control/oppress ppl make my blood boil and imo are among some of the worst people out there along with nazis and pedophiles.

Ig you can say that he was sexually abused as a child and so it’s a cycle-of-abuse kind of thing and does seem to genuinely want to be rid of his pedophilic tendencies (or at least he claims to be) but idc. A murderous, child rapist is still a murderous, child rapist no matter what. Plus there’s still the “cleansing the world from heretics” thing that he has no remorse for.

I really want Adam to give more characters backstories. They wouldn't make them a better person (obviously) but they'd have more feel to them.

I wonder if Rides with Strangers ever comes out, we’ll learn any more about the other characters backstories, or is Donald the designated Lore Dropper which is why he’s the one in the demo?

Especially because Lydia and I think even the Breather will be strangers in the game. Like I wanna know: Why is Lydia the way she is? Why does she get off to other people’s suffering? Is she like Donald in a way that she was SA’d as a child, which is why she is a sexual predator today? Is it possible—with her mindset being ‘lust’—that she has a hypersexual disorder (as someone who feels like they might have hypersexuality and struggles with it, I’m curious to see how Adam handles that topic if that’s the case)? Idk, just food for thought bc I feel like it’s harder for a woman to become a sexual predator as a woman myself bc… you know, we’re subjected to that kind of shit our whole lives.

The Breather I’m slightly less interested in, not bc I dislike him or anything (tho I’m slightly scarred from my dream of him last night), but I wouldn’t mind a little bit of backstory here and there that explains why he’s like… that.
