How long must fires burn before man can understand?

Money can’t buy a new forest Or restore the air We long to be billionaires living with smog and soot in mansions built of rot

Giving us an aeriform sense of accomplishment while the smoke corrodes all life

The insanity in the world makes me want to curl up and hide........

We’d all love to hold fast belief in centrality of self: servicing survival denying truth

Incomprehensible billions exist(ed), our solo narrative vanishing quickly

like sparks popping from a campfire burning brightly fading fast.

Numbers carry no empathy our place in the collective unidentified. Conquering statistics meaningless;

A child is amused by the simplest things.

A basin of water and a shovel can provide countless hours of entertainment.

Why do we stop the wonder we have gifted to us as children?

Even now I stare at the basin and the shovel

Thinking of fluid dynamics, surface tension friction and entropy.

Should we limit our curiosity and passion to developmentally appropriate pursuits?

Zoera’s Justice

I’d never kill.

But if we are to imagine some alternate reality where I did,

I’d be a poacher serial killer.

Something about harvesting wild animals for their tiny bits

enrages me.

I’d be a special-ops-trained sniper with world class skills used to murder poachers.

Paradoxically, I love eating meat and have killed animals myself.

Poaching just makes me want to kill.

Morality is a constant (like everything else) so why hold fast?

We know society dictates the possible and forgiveable as well as the rest.

It’s a sign of the times, not a sign of character. To suffer against the trending or stand on the fence proudly with hands held high to the sky
