Iâve come to the conclusion that the earth, the moon, and the sun are the only things that are known to give legitimately every organism on this physical planetâs physical existence life. Without the earth we have nothing. The earth is what âgivesâ us all of the power that we have decided is ours to take. If you think about every other organism other than the human species on the planet youâll realize that every wild animal and plant has a purpose. Not only do they have a seemingly conscious purpose for their entire life (hunting, reproducing, survival), but when plants and animals die in the wild, their remains tend to help their original habitat/ecosystem in some way or another (decomposition/the food  chain). That being said, lets think about the human race. Some humans go through their entire life without ever feeling like they have a true purpose. What happens when humans die? Obviously in terms of our conscious being no one knows, but what about our physical being? Most people hold a funeral or other type of religious/cultural ceremony and the body is just somehow disposed of afterwards (burial, cremation, indoor cemetery etc.). If you think about it, we are legitimately the only organism that has no real sense of purpose for our entire life, and whose remains donât serve any purpose for our ecosystem/habitat. I feel as though the reason that so many people are so caught up in trying to figure out why we are here, what to do with our time here, and where we are going to be after death, is simply because we, as a species, do not give back to the earth in any way. The only conceptual reason for our existence that is possibly provable, is that we are here to keep the earth healthy and maintain its eco-system. Whether we like to think about it or not, we take everything we have from the earth. The earth is what gives us electricity, fuel, food, water, and legitimately everything else that is necessary for life. I feel as though the minute that the human race started creating so many unnecessary things using the earths âresourcesâ (Air, water, soil, plants, animals, raw materials, space, land, wind, geothermal energy, tidal energy, and solar energy.) was the minute that we started feeling unsettled and purposeless. So we started to search for a purpose. Once the human race started obsessing with trying to find a purpose, and not finding anything they didnât already sort of know, they started searching harder. They started building and creating things in order to try to âenhanceâ their sense of purpose and find more to life. They created civilizations and infrastructure and governments. They studied the concept of time in order to put in place a schedule/ calendar. People started think about the possibility of religions in order to answer the question of their own life purpose and what was going to happen when they died. I feel as though generally speaking if everyone treated the earth the way that they would treat their own higher power/god in their religion and/or and was respectful to the land and did not take too much from the earth without giving back in any way, then people would feel like they had much more of a purpose for their entire life and possibly even after death.  If we as a species had just kept on surviving and contributing to the ecosystem more than we were destroying it through out our existence, people would generally be a lot more mindful, sustainable, and have much more of a sense of purpose.
Our earth seems to be a giant living organism. Our purpose, as a species, is to keep that organism healthy simply by just surviving and coexisting with the other organisms that are all just as vital to the earth as we are.
