reason that arsenic is dangerous is pretty interesting actually. It’s right below phosphorus on the periodic table so you can see they have similar properties due to the amount of electrons in their valence shell. So Arsenic will actually start to make bonds with the chemicals in the body that phosphorus would. But because it is a much bigger atom than phosphorus that means it can’t make as strong of a bond because it’s just too heavy, leading to all the bonds it makes eventually breaking. So when arsenic replaces all the phosphorus in a cell and then just fucking breaks it basically destroys the cell from the inside out
