“Greer Lankton was a key figure in the East Village art scene of the 1980′s, and a trans artist known for sewing expressionistic dolls modeled after her friends and celebrities, such as Diana Vreeland and Candy Darling. Elvira, exhibited here, was often displayed with Lankton’s other dolls, creating tableaux of intimate moments between girlfriends.”
