It’s really hard to put into words how I’m feeling right now. Grandpa Roach passed early this morning after battling cancer for about 5 years. Of course I’m so incredibly saddened by the loss of one of my favorite people, however he was at home with my Grandma, comfortable and at peace. This man was so supportive to me my whole life. When I had my eye surgery, he was by my side nonstop. When I started not being able to eat because of unknown food allergies, he would sneak my food so I wouldn’t get in trouble for not finishing my dinner. My entire dance career, he was my biggest cheerleader and came to every recital. I’ll never forget all of our summers up in New York, just Grandma, Grandpa, Delaney & I. It was the most fun I’ve ever had, with my favorite people. He named me the Wizard and he’s my Frog head. I’m so glad I got to see him one last time in August, I had such a wonderful time with him and my family. I’ve never had any major loss in my life, and the first is him. I’m glad he can finally be at peace with all of his other lost friends and family. He lived to 80 years old and was with the love of his life for 63 of those. I’ll never forget this amazing, sarcastic, stubborn, important & hilarious man. I love him with all of my heart, forever and always. This is a rant // DO NOT GO TO BAPTIST SOUTH IN JACKSONVILLE, FL. I came here Wednesday at 1pm because I had been so anxious that I was keeping food down or in and my important fluids were all low. That ENTIRE first day, they gave me the smallest bag of potassium they had, which, if they had read my history, it takes A LOT MORE FOR ME. Because of that, it didn’t change and I was admitted to stay overnight. THEN, I got to my room, I’m finally starving and they say I’m on an all liquid diet. EXCUSE ME? I had been having nonstop diarrhea which makes all of the potassium I had been getting irrelevant. So I choked down jello and cranberry juice and was actually feeling okay on Thursday morning. Ready to eat, which they switched me back to solid foods, and ready to be DOSED UP with potassium. In 6 hours, because this particular doc knew what he was doing, my potassium went from 2.6(very low) to 4.4!!! Woah!! That was awesome and I was so excited. They said they were gonna keep me for one more night and see how I did. Wouldn’t ya know it, some asshat gave me stool softeners at some point. So guess what?? Diarrhea all night and when I woke up this morning, ready to go, EVERYTHING WAS DOWN AGAIN!! WOW!!! Also just a side note, today I learned that this is the second time this hospital has NOT GIVEN ME MY ANXIETY & DEPRESSION MEDS THE WAY I TAKE THEM AT HOME. THE SHIT I TAKE CAN PUT ME IN WITHDRAWALS IF I DONT KEEP IT UP! Not to mention that I came here not being able to eat from ANXIETYYYYY. So then my doctor (for today) came in and told me how bad it had gotten again. He ended with ‘let’s keep you here another night to see how your levels are’. Um?? My potassium is now okay, and I’m getting this dose of magnesium. No diarrhea and I’m starving for non hospital food. At this point, I’m waiting to get my bloodwork done in about an hour and then wait for the results. I know they’ll be fine so we’re gonna do something I never thought I’d do. LEAVE AGAINST MEDICAL ADVICE!!! This shitstain of a hospital has literally been making money off of my parents while IMPEDING ME FROM GETTING ME BETTER!! I’ve already made appts and we are leaving here tonight. GOOD RIDDANCE! (at Baptist Medical Center South)
