Black Pant Fusion

April 29 - May 21, 2026 Thread on Fabric

Spent WAY too long combining two pairs of pants.

Took black jeans and old black pants and combined them. Before, they were both high waisted, too short, and too tight. The goal was to fuse them into one pair of low-rise baggy pants. I used the jeans as a base and made two panels out of the black pants to sew along the sides. I also deepened the pockets of the black pants because they were horrendously shallow before.

I must've measured the length of the jeans wrong because when I sewed the panels all together they did not line up at the bottom 😭. I worked through it by adding another strip to bottom of the black panels.

All in all, this was my first big sewing project, but I'm really happy with how it turned out. At first I was kinda upset at how long it took ("I spent so long making the midd-est pants ever"), but they're actually my favourite pair of pants now I'm very proud of them. And also this got me quite comfortable with using sewing machines :] (although sewing thick layers of denim is so goddamned annoying)

Lace + Hot glue on Fabric

Made this to go along with the braided shirt I made (for a glow in the dark party). Just cut a pair of white jean shorts and made a micro/miniskirt out of it. Lined the bottom with lace (looks good and cleans up the not 100% straight edge). I didn't have the time to sew it so I just hot glued it all together with plans of taking it apart later to actually sew.

Braided Shirt

Made this for a glow in the dark themed joint birthday party. Took ~30 minutes the day before, just followed a tutorial made by deanxoxo on instagram.

This shirt was perfect for it. The shirt glows so bright under black light it's so fun >:] I like oversized tees but this one was ugly so I'd always wanted to make something else out of it.

Wrap Skirt

February 18 - 20, 2026 Thread on Fabric Scraps

Went to my first rave over the Winter reading week. Like always I should have used the week to study, but I instead used all my time on this spontaneous sewing project.

Made a seran wrap and duct tape pattern of my waist/hips and then cut out the shape of the wrap skirt. I then used that template to make a proto out of old karate uniforms (white cotton fabric). Like I said, that was supposed to just be the proto, but I ended up using that as the lining because the coloured fabric I wanted to use was too thin to use without a lining.

The whole project revolved around a genderqueer flag I got at pride 2025 for free. I love the flag's colours but I hate the flag as a whole (especially because some other group has co-opted that as their flag?!) (and also it's ugly im sorry). Nonetheless, the coloured fabric is very, very thin. It works on top of the white lining though.

The purple plaid is from an old purple hot topic pleated skirt. Still have a lot of that fabric left so gotta figure out something to do with that. I backstitched the waistband and boy did that take foreverrrrr

Because I was hand stitching, most of the stitches are just running stitches because I did have the time nor patience for anything stronger. The white lace was just hot glued on because I did not have the time to stitch it. A lot of the seams are shitty, so I might take it apart and machine sew it at some point

Valentine's Art Exchange

My uni's art club hosted a fun little art exchange. Everyone filled out a form indicating what kind of art they'd like to make/receive (traditional/digital), and up to three prompts of what they'd want the art to be. I indicated traditional (it'd been a while since I'd done any proper traditional illustration, and I was tired of digital art [no pen lol]), and the prompts I got were:

Never actually got to do the art exchange with the other person lol. Because of our schedules we couldn't make it to the official art swap event, so we'd planned to do it at a later date, but it just never happened. The woes of busy uni schedules (ᴗ_ ᴗ。).

I'm pretty okay with the result but I think the anatomy's just a little bit off and it bothers me. Wish I'd used a reference.

Had a lot of fun with the rendering. Been a long while since I did an illustration with pencils (rather than ink/paint), and it was fun. Walk down memory lane of my highschool still lifes.

December 2025 - January 10, 2026 | 3rd Year Autodesk Inventor, IbisPaintX Jumper Wires + Ultrasonic Sensors + IR Sensor + DC Motors + RGB LED on Breadboards, Arduino/C++ on Arduino Uno, PLA Filament

So this year we wanted to get the bot done much earlier so we wouldn't be running back another sleepless night. Once again, we lied to ourselves.

The big hurdle was the electronics. Specifically the motor driver (this year we didn't use the starter kit so it was different). For the life of me and my friends, we could not figure out what the hell was wrong with it. It just Didn't Work. We ended up giving up and cannibalizing PBK (Sumobot 2025) for its motor driver (and also motors & wheels) at the end. Sad because we wanted to make ill rat and pbk fight each other </3. Anyways because the motor driver gave us so much trouble this was, again, mainly done the night before the comp

Also we used an Arduino Uno instead of nano and it was absolutely running through our 9V batteries. One battery would last us 2 matches max, if even.

We did pretty well again! Our coding was not very different, and we've got a pretty good sweeping program. Lost in the loser's bracket, but it was further than we thought we were getting!

Saw brush week going around and decided I wanted to participate 2 days before it ended. Challenge was to take an oc and redesign it every day using different visual prompts/themes for a week!

I took my unnamed "spooky gorl" oc, slightly redesigned it and made him a man and then used it for this challenge (I didn't want to use any of 'the babs' because none of them have many design features to play around with).

I sketched everything on Dec 25, then started most of the inks the next day. Then completed them semi-chronologically from there. Originally the 'base' drawing was supposed to be the cosmic brush pose, but I figured I needed to show his base colours/design and the design didn't give cosmic at all. <- so the cosmic brush design was sketched and completed just about after everything else had been completed.

The lagoon one is def my fav, with the cosmic one a close second. The lagoon brush itself gave more beach vibes and I already made him a sort of druid for the garden prompt so I didn't make him some fish monster even though that's what I think when I hear 'lagoon.' Lovely's probably the third but I'm bothered by how twiggy it's legs are in that one. I expected the wretched one to turn out as one of my favs but I find it pretty boring tbh.

What I have so far of an in-progress animation. Was really motivated to get the 'simple' part of it done (everything pre-bridge of the song) this winter break, but then everything kinda crashed down on me when I realised how much work it would actually be. Was in my delusional era before. Just gotta keep chugging onn,, progress is progress. I want to learn krita's tweening for this and that made me crash out because imma have to... Learn it. dat shit takes tiiiime

Backgrounds I made for an animation that may get finished someday. The goal was to finish it this winter break --HA! little did I know that my winter break would be fully preoccupied with having the worst flu ever twice!

Pixel art bg are so fun and cute and take sm less time than my normal art gosh. They were all made in the same file so I don't have individual times which I kind of regret but oh well
