I think a lot of people who make mpreg jokes do it because they consider pregnancy something that 'tames' a person and 'knocks them down a peg'. They think pregnancy is something that marks a person as inherently submissive. Getting pregnant means being submitted to them.
They also think that male pregnancy is a feminist concept not because it recognises trans and intersex men as men, but because something 'feminine' and 'submissive' is forced upon a man. Because that's what pregnancy is to them - something that is done to a person. They think pregnancy is emasculating. Remember this meme?
To people like this it's a feminist line because a woman dominated a man by impregnating him. This is an incredibly fucked up and misogynistic view of pregnancy, and it also reveals the shallow understanding of feminism a lot of people have: masculinity is dominance and femininity is submission, so the idea of a man in a feminine position is inherently feminist, because he is submitted. Especially if he was put in this position by a woman, because then the switch is complete - the woman is the dominant one by forcing him into something.
And yes, I said the idea of a man in a feminine position is inherently feminist to them, NOT the man himself. The feminine position he is in makes him an object to be viewed and discussed, not a subject with thoughts and beliefs. The pregnant man is not a feminist, he's a feminist concept. That, I think, is the core of the problem with mpreg jokes - to people who make them, a pregnant man is an idea, a symbol, a fictional situation, instead of a real human being. They ignore the existance of actual men that can get pregnant in favour of the idea of them, because the first one has agency, and the second one has no agency (because he exists in their head). To people like that, pregnant men = blorbos jokingly impregnated by defying biology, or blorbos in omegaverse AUs, not the living, breathing trans and intersex men. They imagine pregnant men for many reasons: as a sexual fantasy, to make a joke, to declaw and tame them, but never to actually consider what it's like for real life men with uteruses. Pregnancy is just another situation they can put their blorbos in, not a real thing some men go through. So there's no space in their minds for the discrimination we face in gynecological and prenatal care, or the fear of being forcibly impregnated as a way to detransition us. Pregnant men are theoretical to them, just like catboys, so they get annoyed when we remind them that we exist and shoo us away claiming they're not talking about us.

Hello! I'm from your twt following, I saw your older ship chart (I'm assuming it's not up to date) I was curious if you'd think doorman/mirage would work well or not! I really like your imtepation of mirage and wanted your opinion!
I feel like Mirage is pretty much neutral on him, but with what I've seen in Doorman's voicelines he's too inhuman for the relationship to work properly, so it falls into the OOC category for me, although I do like the general idea of Doorrage tbh.

This is what every post-meeting plane ride debrief looks like.
I find it so funny how you constantly trash-talk other Mirage ships, call them toxic, and say ‘you shippers don’t understand Mirage’s character,’ while you ship Mirage with Lash, who is a narcissistic himbo. Not to mention, you portray them as a happy family. I think you should double-check the lore, because you don’t understand Lash’s character either. Toxic yaoi !! Have you ever wondered why most people don’t want anything to do with you, shvyk ? You are possibly some of the most toxic & racist people in this fandom.
also do you actually think me and shwyck are the same person or is this just low-quality bait bro

please explain lash mirage to me i keep seeing it in the tag and i'm intrigued!!!!! (positive)
Well, at first it started as more of a crackship because of the way Lash says "Careful, Mirage", but the more I've thought about the ship the more it made sense.
Bear with me, I'm going to spread the word of the secret Chinese build hidden yaoi gem.
As a wrestling fan, I see Lash as a kayfabe obsessed guy - he has to uphold a particular image of himself in public no matter what to basically make a certain impression so the audience reacts to him and, more importantly, remembers him no matter what (even outside of the ring, full on kayfabe mode). I think he's very inspired by the first ever heel (antagonist) on wrestling scene, Gorgeous George, and replicates it to a degree, but positions himself as an arrogant ego-ridden face (positive character).
The Hidden King has a voice line relating to that.
He's also smarter than people think, proven by a several conversations with Dynamo, Seven, McGinnis and Ivy, each to their own degree.
I heavily headcanon Lash being as a bisexual, because why not, and I think he'd like how Mirage looks and approach him at first because of that.
Mirage is a perceptive man, and I think he'd see right through the image Lash cultivates, and that would spark genuine interest in Lash towards him. And also make him go "Pretty boy, not in front of everyone else, I have a reputation to uphold". And things can go from there, because I genuinely think that outside of his gimmick Lash is a interesting guy, and also A YEARNER. I'M A HEAVY LASH YEARNER TRUTHER. And pairing a yearner with another yearner is GOLD.
In my opinion, Lash as a person, not the character he plays, needs a partner that can see past the charade and hold conversations in private without looking back at who he is to the world, and Mirage to me is an understanding man.
Nashala would also like the idea of these two and play her role in getting Mirage to agree to a date because I imagine her being worried about how much of his life Mirage dedicated to work and work only. She'd push him towards a person who's interested and who's not a genuine danger to society to get his mind off duty for a day or two (hopefully more). And Mirage really doesn't lose anything in giving it a chance, especially since Lash wouldn't really mind Nashala's presence. He'd wink at the vessel and tell Mirage that she'll be their witness, if anything.
There's potential for them to click when Lash drops the gimmick and simply makes conversation. Yeah, he's still incredibly confident in himself (look at him, he has reasons to be) and flirty, but with a person he genuinely likes it's honest, and not a show. Also he'd want to take the challenge of proving to Mirage that he's, in fact, a great guy and a gift to the mankind. So expect a textbook-perfect dates, nice gifts and him being a gentleman (while also making a few dirty jokes here and there to see how Mirage reacts to them).
And Mirage definitely had a long gap in dating, because trying to find a partner that wouldn't mind the fact that he works practically 24/7 and has to take Nashala with him to dates because he can't simply leave the vessel somewhere and forget about his duty. And he usually was the one doing the courting, the gifting and the planning, so receiving such attention for the first time in a while would definitely be a big reason why he'll start developing genuine feelings towards Lash.
Lash falls first, fast and deep - he's used to people perceiving him as his gimmick and not caring enough to dig deeper even when he presents them with opportunities to do so - because it's probably first serious relationship he's committed to in years, limiting himself to quick flings on the side with his fans.
They are sickly sweet. And Lash would tone down the flirting with random people because of it, so Mirage will be a positive influence on his gimmick character :')
Lash would probably boast of having a pretty and smart boyfriend, telling everyone that the greatest man on earth bagged such a baddie. Mirage will just groan in the background, but secretly he likes the praise.
So yeah. They're sweet. And they work wonderfully together.
lash wasn't joking about asking the patrons to spawn in 5 kids for him and mirage
