Got inspired by your replies about our baby Khan and wrote little something.
Jaghatai Khan x fem!reader
Jaghatai Khan has this a specific tradition: if you two have been separated for a long time (which he actively tries to avoid) the exact second you reunite on Chogoris, the Khan packs up a few heavy supply bags, pulls you onto his bike, and drives you out into the endless, wild steppes of your beautiful world, hundreds of miles away from any trace of civilization.
Out there, you set up a small camp consisting of basically just a single tent (a traditional maikhan), and you completely isolate yourselves for exactly two weeks. For that entire time, you have absolutely zero contact with the outside world. It is strictly time for just the two of you, catching up on every single second you lost while you were apart.
You spend hours on end just talking, touching, and holding each other close. You go hunting, track down and tame those massive, wild chogorian horses so you can bring them back to diversify the gene pool of the herds, and in the evenings, you cook together.
You bathe in cool, shallow lakes scattered across the endless steppe like stars across the galaxy...and of course, you spend your nights making love.
During this time, absolutely no one dares to disturb the Primarch and you. His sons and brothes know that these two weeks are incredibly sacred, and they all respect the tradition without question.
Every single time, it feels like you are falling in love with each other all over again, just like the very first time.
Jaghatai cannot take his eyes off you when you fearlessly throw a heavy, sturdy rope around the neck of a herd's alpha, the absolute largest and most ferocious stallion of the bunch. He watches in awe as you boldly vault onto its massive, sloping back, tightly binding its muzzle with the remaining rope so it wouldn't dare snap its head around to bite you. He watches the effortless way you handle a bow, whispering a quick prayer for luck before letting the string fly to strike down your prey on a hunt, or the tender way you stroke your falcon's head while it rests on your glove after chasing down swift cliff birds.
He knows with absolute certainty that he married a magnificent huntress and warrior, and he is deeply, intensely proud of himself that he managed to win over someone so incredible.
Honestly, Jaghatai could never understand how some men chose their wives. What is the point if she is weak and cowardly? What is the point if she can embroider pretty patterns on a napkin but can't even hold a sword? What is the point if you can't even talk to her because you don't truly speak the same language?
Lying back on the soft moss beneath the wide open sky, you count the stars together while the Khan tells you exactly what is happening on every single one of them.
You are just completely in awe of how he manages to remember it all.
And in return, you recite olonkhoto him. those massive, sweeping poetic epics that can take days to tell. It takes a phenomenal memory to pull that off, not to mention some serious acting chops.
Time and time again, you prove to the Khan that you are exactly the person who is worthy of him and just as importantly, that he is completely worthy of you.
