The bathroom is looking extra festive these days as we keep the poinsettia away from the pets.

A cattle drive stops traffic on U.S. Highway 20 near Arco, Idaho, on Tuesday, July 5, 2016. Cowboys, cowgirls and their dogs worked as a team to move a long line of cattle from one grazing area to another. Crank up the volume. I haven’t seen any cattle drives here in Livermore (Calif.) for awhile. The first one I saw was just after moving here. It gave the boys the most original reason for being late to school that day. The CHP stopped Tesla Road traffic for one maybe as much as a decade ago. I think there’s too much traffic now.

“Fart” means speed in Norwegian. I will admit to being immature enough to find the headline and its translation hilarious.

This creature from the sea, with its coffee bean eyes, could not make it onto the bed, so the dining room table became its resting spot.

These charming swans jumped up on the bed yesterday.

Not too old. Just a different kind of beauty. Kind of like people.

I am captioning away. It seems like a never ending task. This old hinge and door latch are from a rustic mountain cabin above Sandane, Norway. 

Sometimes flowers gain a new beauty when they are withered and crumbling.
