I'm Normal About Pufferfish

On a deeper level I felt like it represents Alice as having what Charlie and Morgen will never have. Not the status needed to be wearing this luxurious dress, not the comfort in their own femininity because their lives were either cut short or twisted by her. She makes herself the sole propriety of femininity, something that is further contrasted by her being a white woman while Charlie and Morgen are Black trans women.

Charlie changed Morgen's life too. Even if she had to wear the armour to slay the witch that is Alice, she still made the decision to transition because Charlie did first. It also shows that while Alice gets to be fancy with her dresses, Morgen has to develop edges to survive 😔 based on real life experience gap between white women and Black women.

I want to show that while Morgen wants to dress like Alice too, she doesn't want to be Alice. That's why her fashion is somewhere in between Charlie and Alice. Charlie albeit early in her transition, knows resolutely that she is a woman. She knows she has been barred from feminine space, barred from just interacting with her little sister! because her own mother was afraid of her... simply for being disabled.
