Being the eldest son of some of the most powerful witches in Indiana naturally comes with a lot of responsibility whether it’s wanted or not, but Jace has to admit it has its perks. Especially with his boyish charm and way with words he often got away with a lot more than his little sister ever did. Jace is more of the free-spirited, carefree of the two— Surprisingly as well, considering their parents and coven spent their entire childhood building them up to be some sort of weapons of mass destruction. But of course Jace never took their practices too seriously, not that he ever allowed his parents to know that. They were so hell bent on him succeeding that he acted as they wished to their faces only to please them, but it didn’t take much to see that really he was a bit of a trouble maker at heart.
Jace was the type of child that had a natural knack for understanding what those around him taught. Magic was something that came easily to him ever since he was young and of course it helped that he was so willing to embrace it. Nothing else pleased his parents more than knowing he had embraced his heritage. Six years of age was normally the beginning point of witchcraft for each child in the coven and funnily enough that was when his baby sister was born. He fell in love with her immediately after her birth and his parents realising his adoration for the child chose to use this to their advantage. Ultimately they began using her as motivation for him to get better and more powerful with his magic use. Spitting claims that he was the one who had to protect her from the monsters out in the world. When things got tough, she was the reason he stayed.
So as time went on and he grew up along side his sister, putting up a false facade to fool his parent into thinking that this is something that he wanted and that he was happy to be apart of. But in the mean time all he was really planning was for an escape route, once Elle turned eighteen they could have a chance to live lives of their own— Instead of these meaningless ones their coven had given them, based around fear and anger. It wasn’t the fact that he hated helping out the coven because as most knew he excelled in that department, but really, for him and his sister— Being a child soldier was no way to live. Nor was having to limit yourself the pleasures of having friends and a life outside of magic. So plan away he did.

Mystic Falls. Jace was almost confused when the elders were pushing to send him there on some sort of urgent assignment. The town wasn’t only small, but it was quiet and quite frankly subtle. But that only made more sense in terms of what the boy and his sister where being sent for— Demons. In the traditional magic community demons are seen as an abomination, something that need to be stopped so that was there job: To settle in and act as the average citizens do. Jace even managed to get himself a job as a bartender at The Grill in order to further convey the image of their normality, even though it wasn’t exactly necessary with their parents large sums of cash. However the entire concept was different for him, he and his sister had never had this kind of freedom and despite the little demon problem Mystic Falls was actually quite endearing.
Unbeknownst to the coven, Jace isn’t as focused of the task at hand of the extinction of demons, as his sister is. While she’s off on her borderline rampage of frustration and magic the boy’s more focused on planning his final detachment from his parents constricting grasps, although he’s failed to inform Elle of this much just yet— A little anxious of what her reaction might entail. He couldn’t give a rats ass about demons or hunters or this ever brewing war against the humans. All he’s interested in is getting a chance the life he had always wanted, before the world goes up in flames and Mystic Falls seems like the perfect place to do that— Even if it’s a hotspot for the wicked.

His baby sister who doesn’t even realise how much she means to him. They’ve stuck together through thick and thin and she was the entire reason Jace put up with his parents all these years. He made it his duty as a child to protect her— Elle is the reason he stays, but he’s never made it her business to know that much. Through everything he’s put her first even if she hasn’t realised because he can’t bare the thought of having her be a puppet for their coven for the rest of their lives.
He’s noticed his little sister hanging around the Demon, although she claims to no what she’s doing. But Jace can’t shake this feeling that Beleth needs to be destroyed and it needs to be now— That is the reason they got sent to Mystic Falls in the first place, is it not? Even though he doesn’t care so much about the demons in town he has a particular distaste for Beleth, and a bigger distaste for Elle being around him, even if it is necessary for their coven’s mission.
It didn’t take Jace long after being hired at The Grill to realise his boss was a witch and vice versa— However she seems reluctant each time she’s around him, almost as if she doesn’t what to even mention their similarities. This has lead Jace to become curious beyond belief and he feels he needs to help her somehow. But does she even need his help? Lately he’s been working up the courage to pull her aside and speak to her about it and hopefully won’t get fired in the process.
Despite just having met the brunette, Jace has grown a rather quick liking toward her— She actually seems to remind him a bit of himself in the sibling department and for that he couldn’t admire her more. They were one in the same, working their asses off in one way or another just to look after the ones they love. It was a rare sight for someone like Jace. Due to this Jace has developed a small crush on the girl, leading him to act just like a school boy with annoying and playful tendencies, thank god he’s above hair pulling.
