when I say "happy summer solstice," I do not mean staged poolside photoshoots or passionfruit margaritas. I mean may you always find your way back to the fire. I mean the nostalgia is warm to the touch and I want you to jump in and play mermaids with us. I know spring's softness sharpened to something harder and hotter, but just think what you can forge in the flame. Think of all the fruits your friends will cut into. When I say "happy summer solstice", I mean may it all become clear in the wake of the salt ocean-kissed to your skin. I mean you are deserving of all the light the year's longest day has to give, and then some.
