It was a simple statement, even if it was more direct than the guyâs previous words, but it still felt big to Camden. Of course it was an overstatement, but acceptance had not been easy to find. Attraction⌠Well, he wasnât used to being anyone people noticed. And that was fine, but it made the words hit a little harder. âI mean⌠Iâve died of embarrassment about, like, a million times. Death wouldnât be enough to escape me,â he explained with a goofy smile, cheeks flushed entirely. His breath stuttered momentarily when Conrad grabbed his shoulder, but returned to normal in just enough time to take in where the brunette was pointing. âKitchen,â he nodded as though that was enough of a response, only to realize it answered no question. âYes! Pots and pans are in there. Câmon, Iâll show you.â Cam motioned for the other to follow before walking into the admittedly underwhelming kitchen area, overly clean due to a lack of use. âRight down here,â he stated, squatting down to open the cabinet full of mismatching baking ware. It was an investment that his dad hoped would get him on the right track, but had remained practically untouched since the move. âHow big dâyou need?â The question was asked while he stared at the unfamiliar metal pieces, but he looked back over his shoulder for the answer.
It was hard to pull Conrads gaze away from CamdenâCamden just naturally had an effect over Conrad. âOh, so you're immortal, huh? Good to know, guess we better start planning weekly dinners for the rest of eternity,â he chuckled at himself and then followed closely behind the boy as he watched him look through the cabinet to look at all the cookware. âOh, how big can you give me?â He peered down at Camden and leaned back against the counter behind him, setting the bag of food down as he licked his lips, âI think just a medium sized pot is fineâjust cooking rotini pasta, and a large pan to sautĂŠ some vegâyou have a strainer?â he asked, tilting his head to the side a bit.Â
