it was a little too quiet for his taste during the afternoons so he finds out that the sound of the bell was deemed much more cozy and the lack of brightness had given him a sense of strange comfort and so taehyung heads there. though he wasn’t one for nature despite himself being surrounded almost daily but animals seemed to flock wherever his body goes. although he always swore to himself that he’d never use his powers on another animal due to what happened last time, even vaguely remembering the times he has been told that he’d break whatever it is that he uses his powers on. he didn’t technically disagree though. 

taehyung runs his fingers through his newly dyed blonde hair, making his way up the belltower attic, a place that was really just a mystery unless someone happens to easily find it but he does. his foot goes up one more step and he’s met with the white wooden floor as it creaks beneath his feet to guide himself around. it wasn’t as bright as outside and yet through the faint light from the windows, he could make out a familiar face, a long yet slim frame and he realizes he wasn’t alone either. “seulgi,” he manages to grin while looking down at her. he raises his eyebrows at ghosts as if he was a new idea to him but not surprising. “well the attic does have an eerie feel to it, i won’t be surprised. but true... about the cutting class part.” why should he occupy his time with biology when he could be here? though it was seulgi to be out here on this time of day though.

that automatically gave him an idea and his smug face appeared once again while he lingers throughout the reflecting pool. foxes were interesting creatures, he was intrigued by them. the fact that they were suppose to be the best when it comes to concealing identity, hiding their emotions and their use in trickery and mischief. thinking on it, taehyung was pretty disappointed in her skill but he didn’t know her that well and it was better not to judge or tell her this right now. it was still true that he liked foxes, other than dogs. this is probably one of the many reasons why taehyung never really trust anybody right away at this academy due to childish antics such as this one.

turns out that his instincts were correct and he had found her at the drop of a hat. she’s awkward, kind of annoying but the situation was amusing nonetheless. taehyung’ smug was glued to his face as he eyes her, crossing his arms in front of his chest. “you’ve managed to have me running back and forth from here to my dorm, you’re exhausting.” yeah he stands corrected, she really was annoying and more so the fact that she was amused by this situation, maybe he was to. “you’re a fox, aren’t you? generally they have good instincts. you don’t have the best luck, do you?” he shakes his head in disapproval, standing up from where he sat before turning towards her. “your explanation doesn’t matter now does it? are you going to make it up to me? i’ll have to clean my entire room again because of you, little fox.” 

there were too many questions appearing inside his head. like say if he had dropped a few hints that he wanted hoseok all to himself right now, would the other make a move? or if he made a move himself, how would hoseok react? he notices how the other was reacting though when taehyung boldly moved closer yet he wasn’t in the position to judge, he was just as nervous. now that he thought about it, maybe it was a better idea to choose a scarier movie, just so it’d give him an excuse to get the other close to him. but hoseok was right, not like they were going to watch it anyway and especially not when he was around.

he shook his head in disapproval but amused nonetheless. since he was drunk, it was just another reason for taehyung to mess with him. “hm, i don’t know, do i? you get anymore you might just be dead. i should be a good influence because apparently you need serious help.” he jokes, yet he was so obligated to steal the soju bottle away from him and place it farther away because seeing yoongi looking like shit just bothered him for several reasons, kind of makes him nervous but he doesn’t say anything about it. he adjusts himself on his bed next to yoongi and wonders why he was talking about his life when he was more worried for the other. he wasn’t going to lie and say he wasn’t curious about what was going on with him. maybe taehyung could just refrain from talking about himself. he was more humble, talking about everything but himself (at least if there was a reason for it). 

he stays silent, and maybe yoongi was partly right. back then when they had first met and during the days their friendship grew stronger in the past, he was so much more rebellious and careless but guess the whole deal with trying to be the better witch in his family just got into his head more. taehyung was still stupidly childish though, just a little less. “you’re probably right... i used to be much more fun.” he laughs it off, placing both his arms behind his head. taehyung hesitated, too stubborn about the fact that he misses yoongi, he was probably the only one who did. “is it even okay for me to be super sentimental right now?” he runs his fingers through his red hair, trying his best not to be stubborn, especially when his (former) best friend was actually talking to him. “best friend meaning you, idiot. but i guess you’re already talking to me, so...” he’s clearly embarrassed to admit it but it had been true, except yoongi was drunk out of his mind.

he regretted not staying just a bit longer. he remembered leaving quickly after talking to him, as if there was really no tension between the two of them whatsoever. he could admit that it was nice, wanting to go back to those days where they would enjoy each other’ company. now it was nothing but awkward, even when yoongi was here in his presence. his bitterness only made it much more draining for him to even speak. taehyung knew yoongi was acting not like himself due to all the soju bottles that he probably consumed because his voice was much calmer. he didn’t find the energy to be bitter and hostile towards him, or just less than he usually was. “yeah yeah, old friend… former friend, there isn’t much of a difference. how many bottles have you had to drink anyway, huh?”

he says this while his eyes are completely focused on a drunk yoongi, from stumbling onto his bed all sloppily to the nearly empty soju bottle in his hand. he just found himself feeling the responsibility to just keeping his friend company and making sure he didn’t do anything stupid. ‘i missed you too’, that’s what he wanted to say but he couldn’t and not even when he was looking at how vulnerable his friend was. if yoongi wanted to rant, now would be a good time for him to do so yet it wasn’t completely confident as to why he was here. yoongi might as well keep him busy and not like he had anything to do anyway.

the first thing he thought to do was reach for the soju bottle in yoongi’ hand in order to snatch it away from him before placing the empty bottle on the table across his bed. “how i’ve been? i don’t know… besides stressing over my best friend or dealing with a guy who wants to ruin my life or looking after my sister? same old same old.“ he refrains from mentioning the little good things that he had going for him however, not sure whether or not he wanted to share, at least not yet anyway. taehyung was more curious about him.

In spite of his teasing, Hoseok hauls himself out of bed with a bit of effort, rummaging around his bag for his laptop. Once he’s emerged victorious from his battle with his bag for possession of said laptop, he returns to his earlier position, scooting closer to Taehyung and placing the laptop onto the bed. 

“I don’t really care what we watch, I trust your movie taste.” 

taehyung is reminded that with the two of them together, they’d be quite ruthless and even for him that’d be difficult to imagine at this moment. of course this is all in his head because taehyung never knows how to deal with his own feelings in general, even especially in front of hoseok. he only knew the worst ways possible and that scared him, he didn’t want hoseok to witness it knowing he didn’t have much of a filter. taehyung doesn’t say anything in response but it was good to hear that hoseok agreed, mostly like trying to hear his approval while trying his best not to turn back and gaze. 

it looked as thought he was in his own little world when he’s trying to hide his own feelings and that burning desire inside of him but he was also still content with the fact that he had hoseok to make his life easier, in his own way when he’s dealing with complicated shit.

he chuckles at hoseok’s accusation as to what he thought he meant, even subtly trying to change the direction of the conversation. “in your dreams, hyung... and also in that case, i change my mind. how about drama instead?” raising his eyebrows questioningly though he’s joking of course, because he always preferred action movies, mixed in with drama just to feed his own boredom right now. yet he already had hoseok for that alone, to shed some light in his life. once the laptop makes its way towards the middle, taehyung found his body automatically moving closer towards him, feeling the heat from his body even more. “hm, i don’t trust potions so the booze sounds perfect.”

“you want me to choose, huh?” he says, just scrolling through the movie list. to be honest, he was willing to pick the stupidest movie on the list to just a random one due to the fact that he wouldn’t mind whether or not they end up paying attention. taehyung simply liked being around hoseok. his eyes just naturally rests on the first movie he saw on the screen. the third harry potter movie it looks like which it fits, since they were witches weren’t they? “see? perfect... mixed with both action and adventure.” if he didn’t like it, they didn’t have to watch the movie though he knew that all he was going to do was commentate throughout the entire thing, attempting not to stare at the other.

He doesn’t necessarily stop staring, though, once his back hits his bed again- a muted huff of air leaving him- he’s sitting up and watching. He pats the spot next to him then, invitingly of course, a slow smirk spreading on his lips. “Lemme make it up to you?” 

He lets the implication of his words sink in for a heartbeat too long before pulling out a couple of vials and waggling them in the air, tongue between his teeth in a playful expression. 

he feels the warmness of hoseok’s hand wrapped around his wrist as he silently questions whether or not the other realized what he was doing yet he didn’t think himself to shake off his hand. if he wasn’t a little bit tipsy right now then he wouldn’t have to be as careful as he was right now. why was his heart beating so fast suddenly? it was annoying. he found himself relaxed again once his friend managed to let go of his wrist. “are you going to keep on gazing at me? am i that good looking, hyung?” he teases, simply due to the fact that he did look in the mirror before he came over. 

but that was all it was, a joke. 

“you better make it up to me good, i’m not gonna stay up all night to take care of your drunk ass.” but to be honest, he wouldn’t mind hanging out with him at least. taehyung lets out a sigh, doing everything in his power to do anything he wanted to do, nor will he admit it out loud that he was attracted to him right now, so he doesn’t. taehyung gradually makes his way over to him casually, flopping his body on the bed next to the other, making it look like it was nothing, that he was comfortable. taehyung scoots an inch further away but he could still feel the heat of hoseok’s body surrounding him, “hit me.” he says, indicating that he was ready for whatever hoseok wanted to do.

he didn’t know what the silence meant but everything just screamed caution but did he really care to take him seriously? should he? “hey, i’m offended that you’d think like that. i just thought the situation was funny and i just happen to make some innocent comment about it.” he tries not to press further just to save taemin the trouble of anything else but only more words manage to fall as he’s talking. it was true though as to what he was saying, he only managed to watch but taehyung was unknowing that his actions spoke differently towards the other apparently.

It’s a little bit superficial, sure, but it works.

strangely there’s only one person that could be on his mind right now, someone who was fitting enough to cure his boredom. most people were seemingly more open minded than others, willing to talk about anything and everything but taehyung wasn’t in the mood to talk about anything like that; aka his feelings. his train of thought paused momentarily upon the sudden vibration coming from his phone. was taehyung really going to mention how he was just thinking about him just a minute ago? of course not
