Chemistry is a lie sold by depressed wizards gaslit into dismissing their alchemical past.
Often for me, life can feel like unreliable narrator vs unreliable narrator. A battle of people who both think they're right and know best. A situation where losing is often the best outcome because then you don't have to fight as much. I hate having to try to be myself when everyone just wants me to do it their way. Being myself gets me yelled at, called stupid, and told I'm being unsafe. Nobody seems to support me. Nobody says "hey, that seems like it could be bad, but what's the safest way to do it?".
Ontop of that, I can never tell if I'm right anyway. I can't tell if I'm convincing them because I'm not showing my cards, or if they're convincing me to not trust my own senses. I feel gaslit but also like I'm probably wrong anyways, right? There's no reason for someone to be so assertive if I was even questionably right. I'm not mad about any of this, just.. unmotivated to deal with it. I'm just saddened by it and crumple up.
Hear me out:
Fantasy villain who's sole motivation for trying to kill the hero is because if they truly are the "chosen one" they'd probably live, thus preventing people from faking being the "chosen one".
God, the (at least local) American education system..
I answer the question on my online H.W. and get the answer wrong. I'm told it's wrong. It is not explained to me how, why, or where I went wrong. Simply that I am. Comparatively, when I have physical homework assignments, I get them handed back with quick jots of criticisms (a necessary evil for learning), and I'm left to interpret whatever's on my paper in order to improve. Improvement from these small few word responses is not only expected, but necessary so that the foundation of my information we'll build upon in class isn't warped.
Either way, I end up wrong and without a clue of why. They have office hours, and tutor-halls. I go to them, and learn equally nothing from the current-students-turned-tutors. They work in the ELA/Science/Math/etc. department, not under my teacher. The questions I have about my teacher's specific directives or requests are left unanswered in exchange for general rules. Speaking to my teacher themself only results in speaking with a stressed, tired 40-to-60-something year-old, who simply wants a relaxing paid break instead of office hours. I ask questions, and get rude, confusing responses. I stop asking questions.
In class, other students are struggling. Our teacher simply treats us all like we're unprepared, or mentally incapable of completing the assigned tasks. Students forget assignments in one subject just to do an all-nighter studying for an exam in another class. A catch-22 of which classes you can lose your good grades in.
At the end of the day, I'm left being told "that was your responsibility! Not mine!". "You are supposed to know your course requirements for your degree, required course hours, which teachers are better rated, where the classroom is on campus, etc", says my appointed academic guidance counselor. "You were supposed to read the syllabus, check online for homework, check in person for homework, pay attention at all points throughout class, actively participate, take notes, be quiet, give feedback, ask questions, email us before missing class, only miss class if you're sick, etc" says my teacher. "You're supposed to take care of yourself, brush your teeth, brush your hair, take showers, eat regularly, drink enough water, keep good posture, exercise, etc" says my doctor. "You're supposed to make time for friends, make time for love, meet new people, focus on yourself, think about what you want, take care of yourself mentally, hug your friends, make good friends, learn coping mechanisms, use coping mechanisms, process trauma, etc" says my counselor.
I know, these things are reasonable requests. I should be able to do them, according to most people. Why do I always end up feeling like I don't have enough time? Like I don't know what to do? Why are so many things expected of me? How can I possibly do all of them?
God, this sucks.

Sometimes while waiting for my class to open at college, I overhear lectures in other rooms. Today, I heard a teacher assumedly teaching human biology. The thing is, however, the way she described it could be misinterpreted as threats.
"Your kidneys are gonna be tucked back here - and your bones are around there, and that's where your heart's gonna be."
Lately I've been thinking about content and the morality surrounding it's creation, particularly through the lens of youtube.
I think that it's morally a dick move to make content with the intent of making money.
Is this a justifiable moral belief?
Here's some arguments I could come up with that are against content creation with the goal of profit:
It can waste people's time with clickbait for a video the person isn't interested in watching. It can set a dangerous precedent for what is accepted as content, possibly promoting dangerous, illegal, or immoral activities in the name of mass production & mass consumption. If too much is produced, it makes it impossible to find content created without money as a primary goal
Some arguments for the side agreeing with content creation for profit:
If veiwers dislike the content, they can simply give it a negative rating through dislikes or other means, letting it all sort out in the algorithms. If content or media on youtube is being consumed in order to kill time, wasting people's time is irrelevant as long as it can satisfy their need for a distraction. People also need to make money to have the necessities to survive, so allowing someone to do that through even a minimally creative format produces not only a more fufilling occupation, but potentially a higher quality product if done with care.
Overall, I'm not sure how to feel. I think this is possibly a good example of order vs conflict sociology, though.
Thanks for reading <3
Videos I see lately are titled like "Is 4 a real number?" and my stupid ass is clicking on them.
I fall for clickbait too easily, but I am equally starved for genuine content.
+ I'm one for pedantic arguments and all, but I can only watch so many videos on pedantic arguments until I either become a nitpicky person, or until I just get bored.
Thinking is something I think I took for granted. Time to think, things to think about. As I've dealt with more trauma, I got less room to think. Space I could have used for thinking about my day, or for planning ahead gets overtaken by my misery. It's hard to think about if I've eaten or what I ate when all I can think about is the worst moments of my life. I don't try to think about them. I do not welcome these thoughts. I try to ignore them, but they still take space.
Trauma makes it really hard to function. I want to, but I just can't sometimes.
the real issue lies in no snackies for good boy

It's weird how the "dread upon realizing you're in your own Truman show" thing doesn't really apply if your life is below good. Even just having an okay life, or especially a bad one, just makes you go "This was all fake? Well, first off, that's horrendous, secondly, thank god it wasn't real.". Like sure, psychologically irreversibly scarring. But at least you don't have to deal with whatever stressors you had. Bad job? Not real. Bad family? Not real. Pile of taxes? Not real.
Sure, in the real world you'd be homeless, but ideally also able to get a job in some form unless society outside is completely unlike life inside. Become a political campaign activist for stopping future Truman Shows from happening, go on TV and maybe get some local support for what you went through, maybe even sue?
This really doesn't apply to everyone, but I just thought it was neat.
I'm constantly "looking at inspiration" and never actually doing anything artistic.
I'm beginning to think I just like art as opposed to like making art.
I remember having teachers tell me "fastest isn't a word, you use most fast, or more fast, not fastest!!" yet everywhere I look now, I see the word "fastest". It's a word, btw.
Complimenting someone on something they're insecure about is a kindness critical hit
Dwarves and elves are the most fucked up "fantasy creatures". Like dwarves are literally just short humans but suddenly now they are another fucking race. Elves having pointy ears makes them a whole new species. This includes "fantasy creatures" such as elves, dwarves, hobbits, sometimes wizards. Definitely more.
