Everyone, I would like to introduce you all to Joe "Beaver" Clarendon from the Stephen King's Dreamcatcher.

Beaver is just a silly guy from a little town you might have heard called, oh, idk, DERRY, MAINE! no i'm not kidding. He and all his friends grew up in the same fuck ass clown town the losers are from but inbetween 27 year rests because the child portion of dreamcatcher takes place in 1978.

Beaver was bullied as a child by a teenager named Richie, primarily for his glasses and buck teeth which earned him his nickname. He also has terrible OCD to the point that if he doesn't have a tooth pick in his mouth he can't function because it's one of his compulsions. Beaver is a very silly person, always cursing and spouting weird quips and catch phrases. His most favorite catch phrase is "fuck me freddy!" but he has a vocabulary all his own (Kiss my bender, bite my sack, fuckaroo, ect.). When an alien invasions happening he eats peanut butter from a jar with his hands because he's so stressed. He also has terrible relationship problems like Richie and he routinely fumbles the bag with women, even tho he has kids appearently.

His five best friends from childhood are Henry, Pete, Joensy and a boy with down syndrome named Douglas who mispronounces his own name as "Duddits". On a trip to go check out a town urban legend they find Duddits getting badly beaten and bullied and save him. Notably all of the Dreamcatcher gang wanna just deescelate the situation except for Beaver, who wants to kick the bullies asses for hurting him. After the bullies leave and duddits starts crying Beaver bends down and holds duddits while he sings soothing lullabies to him. It gets him teased by his friends but it makes Duddits feel better and that's what matters. After that the Dreamcatcher gang make an effort to include duddits more, but none more so than beaver. Duddits may not be able to function or comprehend things on the same level they can but they're friends and Beaver won't let anyone forget it. I mean duddits is homeschooled so when they were making dream catchers in art class he made a second one for Duddits, that's how much he cares about him. And as an adult all of them never stop thinking about him in spite of the fact they lost contact years ago.

Duddits later on reveals he has psychic powers and because of the way they saved him so tenderly and plan to save other disabled kids like him, he gives all of his new friends his powers too. Now Beaver, as well as all his friends, have telekinesis they call "the line" that they use to talk to each other from long distances thanks to their special childhood connection. They use this power to help random people they come across, including a young handicapped girl who went missing in Derry's sewer system and is still alive. It's worth mentioning Beaver tries to sing to her too.

Derry, Maine, buck teeth, glasses, quirky catch phrases, kids missing in a sewer, Beaver and Richie might as well be the same damn person and the only reason nobody ever calls it out is because nobody really likes dreamcatcher. It's considered one of kings worst books and worst movies, even tho i think the movie is actually really fun. You can watch it on Tubi if ya want to.

I think in this au he gets sent back to around the time noctis was first born. he's initially furious at bahamut and fully intends to go on a murderous rampage..... until he remembers that's basically exactly what the gods what him to do.

so he goes to lucis, finds baby noct, and appoints himself as the weird uncle. He mostly means it as a way, at first, to subtly manipulate noct as a kid, and annoy regis (because haha funny), but he doesn't bargain on getting attached.

I came up with this AU four years ago, but I never ended up sharing it.
