We’ve been working away for weeks with a fantastic designer http://www.danielheath.co.uk/ to create a wall for the Trend Trail at Tent London.  Based on the ‘Alpine’ colour palate – set to be a key trend for AW 12/13 as predicted by the colour trend people at Mix Magazine  http://www.globalcolor.co.uk/mix-magazine.php it’s great for us to be able to showcase our laser cutting and large scale laser engraving work in a decorative way using a wide variety of different materials and techniques.  http://www.tentlondon.co.uk/trend-space-3-alpine-2013-0  The show opens in a couple of hours so more photos then but in the meantime a sneak preview……

We lasercut these pieces of outdoor grade stainless steel for a garden wall that needed brightening up. The vintage wallpaper design is beautiful and we've used it on a few things. We love this design, it was taken from some vintage wallpaper and it seems to look good on anything. The design was used to great effect in a beautiful garden that had an oil tank which needed hiding. We laser cut the design in MDF which was then painted with outdoor masonry emulsion. Not sure how long the MDF will last outside but we'll let you know.

well it’s not actually, more made to hold rubbish. One of our Barnsley customers makes amongst other things waste bins and we do some laser cutting for them, it makes a change to be able to keep it local.  The material is galvanised mild steel which is usually the thing for this type of work so it’s rust resistant when it’s outside. We are very lucky to work 15 minutes from Cannon Hall our local stately home and country park http://www.barnsleylive.co.uk/visit/cannon-hall-museum,-park-gardens/ and they have kindly agreed to feature our Beacon as part of their Jubilee weekend celebrations. Pictured are the 2 Jane's - Jane Galvin on the Left from Barnsley Council's Arts and Museum Service and our Jane Robinson who officially handed over the beacon to Cannon Hall yesterday. Everyone at Cut-Tec is always up for a party so we will be heading to Cannon Hall for around 8pm Monday 4th June for a huge company picnic ready for the officially lighting as part of the country-wide celebration at 10:15pm. The lovely people at www.hello-yorkshire.co.uk will feature the event, you can also find further details on our website www.cut-tec.co.uk.  Its been all go with everyone wanting to know about the Beacons, Jane was on BBC Radio Sheffield this morning talking to Rony Robinson about what we have done.

We've been busy over the past few months working with Bullfinch http://www.bullfinch-gas.co.uk to create the Official Gas Beacons for the Queens Diamond Jubilee http://www.diamondjubileebeacons.co.uk/  We laser cut the top part of the beacon that the flame appears from in shiny stainless steel and we think they look amazing.  We managed to get one of the last Beacons off the production line to donate to Barnsley so we can all be part of the Official Jubilee celebrations.  Its nice for us to use our lasers for something that makes history....

We've been very busy for the last week or so learning lots of new things with one of our laser suppliers in Germany. We think its really important to make sure our people and technical know how are bang up to date so Ian, Jane, Luke & Bruce went out there to get technical and enjoy the beer. We've got a few clever tricks to try that not many people will have the machinery and knowledge to do - we always like to be a bit different with our large scale engraving, photographs engraved 3metres x 2metres look very impressive, the texture on wood especially is astounding. http://www.cut-tec.co.uk/Laser%20Engraving.html
