The Veranda scene was killing me so I accidentally stayed way too late drawing this - Bryce and @curtmega killed this scene
thinking about Curt Mega WWE 7/11 collectible cups ad from 2010
I made a documentary! It's 1 hour and 22 minutes long.
It's not just about The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals: Reprised, but also about what it means to return to something you made, older, wiser, with more perspective and experience than you had the first time around.
i wanted to try to capture what makes working with this group so special, the magic that happens when friends get together to make something. Plus I got to include a bunch of fun footage from the understudy performances.
if you rent it / watch it, i really hope you enjoy the proshot, but I also hope the documentary makes you feel something too!

Old friends. A basement. Making something totally awesome together.
Tomb Quest, the newest comedy musical from Team StarKid, is a FEEL-GOOD ROMP and a return to that classic StarKid energy, all those years ago at Basement Arts.
After the past couple of shows, we wanted to come home, and Tomb Quest is exactly that.
Five old friends meet in a suburban basement on the night of their friend's funeral, to fulfill his final request: finish the Tomb Quest role-playing campaign they abandoned after high school. Monsters and magic will be the least of their worries. Romantic tension, a bitter grudge, bad role-play, and the fact that nobody remembers the rules will put the journey in peril before the first die is cast.
It's a love letter to gaming, old friends, and the chaotic magic that happens when people sit down to build a story together.
Tune in Saturday, May 9th, from 12pm - 3pm PST for the Delving Deeper Livestream, where we’ll be descending into the world of Tomb Quest! Join the cast and crew as we reveal show details, divulge character backstories, and preview songs from the show!
Also, be sure to back the Tomb Quest campaign, live now on Kickstarter! Tomb Quest - A New Dungeon-Crawling Musical

Together, we've survived apocalyptic antics in the tiny town of Hatchetfield, traversed The Lands That Are, and built a record-breaking community.
Every time you've shown up for us, you've helped bring new worlds to life. You built the sets, sewed the costumes, and created the space for big, bold theater.
We're asking you to show up one more time.
Tomb Quest is coming to the stage this summer. It's a comedy about old friends, unfinished business, and the kind of epic quest you can only survive with the right party by your side.
We need that party to be you.
Your support pays the artists, designers, musicians, and crew who make StarKid possible. It builds something original from the ground up. And it keeps StarKid independent, fan-powered, and able to make exactly the kind of shows we love.
So here's the question:
Will you join the party?
Back the campaign, choose your rewards, and help us bring Tomb Quest to the stage. 🎲🪦

I believe we were meant to finish it. To face our destiny together.
Prepare thyself for the quest!!
Hope everyone enjoyed the announcement trailer. We tried to make it look real pretty. Had a blast shooting the video and helping seeing this world start to come to life.
When I read the script, I I laughed my ass off and I cried like a baby.
The characters, the relationship, the music, the imagination of it all?! This show is special.

Starkid's Spacebaby: Analysis (Box)
Breaking The Barrier Between Internal & External
(Note: I'll refer to Sinéad's character just as "Sinéad", since I don't think we got a name for her?)
This is my interpretation of the underlying story in StarKid's short "Box". I'll can't recommend enough to watch this short, it's free on youtube.
constructive criticism is appreciated.
Mimet represents people who struggle internally with something that no else one can see. The miming represents that incohesion between that is seen to the outside and what is happening inside. The enclosing box, the monster, all of these the audience can only truly see it through his external actions, but he most certainly can see it vividly. The audience represents people who despite seeing someone struggle on the external, don't bother to look into their internal problems and help them. For them, watching him struggle and even be emotionally moved by it is all they can do. And at first, Sinéad seems the same...
But the moment the monster scares Mimet and he "Screams", Mimet notices and tries to help. But then she is stopped by that barrier of a box, the barrier separating the external view and the invisible monster mimet is struggling against. One not being able to reach the other, because the outside help can't easily reach the internal mind, just like the internal cry for help can't easily reach externally. But then Mimet is physically hurt, as the monster manages to strike him externally, just like how internal problems eventually manifest in serious external signs. Sinéad Then immediately tries to break that box, and is able to do so just as the monster was about to corner him. And they finally manages to touch each other, as the barrier is gone.
I think Sinéad reaching for Mimet, and the box short as a whole represents the need to reach people who seem to struggle externally not observing and treating them by their external synonyms, but by understanding their internal conflicts and helping with them.

The recent moon mission may have been a success, but this one certainly wasn't. It’s the 1960s and aspiring astronaut Joe REALLY wanted to go to the Moon, but he has unfortunately just failed out of astronaut training. He’s not quite ready to talk about what happened, but he also can’t seem to stop himself from talking about it constantly to his dinner guests. This original sketch from the space comedy series, Wow! Signal, features Lauren Lopez, Joey Richter, Curt Mega, James Tolbert, and Kim Whalen.
Directed, edited and shot by yours truly.
Was the rainbow colors being the colors of the lords in black from the hatchetfield intentional?
Nope! Genuinely no connection or relation whatsoever. Space Baby is it's own thing!
