Good movie, but not like the first. Arthur is still funny, and still that obsessed woman wants to marry him.

Good to see old times again, and Hobson too. Interesting things also, like hiring a fitness instructor but only watching him :)

That laugh of Arthur is really great.

I could not get the end fully. She is also pregnant, and they also adopt one child. Hobson’s room or place is given to Fairchild, I think. That part was good.

I used some sentences for the first movie, so that was a mistake.

I actually came to watch this film for Ismail Hakki. Compared with many films from 1954, the image quality is surprisingly good.

It feels like they are telling Nasrettin Hoca’s anecdotes one by one. Instead of a single continuous story, the film moves almost like separate scenes built around different jokes and stories.

There is also a theatrical feeling to it. Ismail Dumbullu’s acting style carries elements of traditional Turkish stage comedy, such as meddah and orta oyunu.

Because of that, the film can feel a bit old-fashioned and fragmented today, but it is still interesting as a way to see older storytelling traditions brought into cinema. 7/10.

I remember the shop security guy from Fort Apache, The Bronx. I think it is the same actor.

Arthur is really funny. Childish, lost, and still likable because he is nice.

I could not fully get the ending. Is she also pregnant, and did they adopt a child? It was sudden and confusing, I think.

Hobson’s room or place is given to Fairchild, I think. That part was interesting. And finally Arthur makes a final choice.

Interesting movie.

Fort Apache, The Bronx (1981) – 7/10

Director: Daniel Petrie Cast: Paul Newman, Edward Asner, Ken Wahl, Danny Aiello

Bronx old times seem very bad. End of the 70s. I did not know. I think it is not like that still.

This blond partner is good. He is more humanist and experienced and supports justice.

People started riot. It was good to take prisoners because the new commissioner is like a dictator. Only believes in rules.

Paul Newman and Murphy are good acting. He is an idealist cop. Helping people to give birth also.

But in the end he was trying to catch a burglar. He just stole something, and they were chasing him, and we were seeing how the city was destroyed, with dead bodies and garbage. It was good to show those things. The point was to show that, I think.

Nice end. He will confess. Probably the nurse died, and she is convinced now.

This is a genuinely solid film. It was nice to see Erol Tas again; he once more fully earns his reputation as a great villain actor.

Irfan Atasoy also seems to be on the bad side here, even if in more of a supporting role.

Writing messages on mountains, stones, and cardboard and hanging them around was also interesting :) They used it almost like a form of social media.

The ending felt a bit weak and awkward, though. The image quality also gets worse around that part, and the film seems to end in a disconnected way, with Cumali left as the one assumed to be guilty.
