I feel like I’m going insane here.

So, ginkgo is associated with the mara-struck, right, it’s the gold, fan-shaped leaves that grow out of their bodies right. In China, ginkgo is associated with longevity, which is thematically relevant because of the mara-struck’s connection to the Abundance. So when Planarcadia dropped, @beanmaster-pika and I realized that the trees lining the road to the Graphia Academy are also ginkgo trees. Which, if it’s just a coincidence, it’s a very interesting coincidence. Ginkgo is also symbolically important in Japan as well, with a similar meaning as China, except instead of longevity, it means endurance.

(Fun fact: six ginkgo trees were among some of the few living organisms to survive within the 1/2 to 1 1/4 mile radius of the epicenter of the bomb at Hiroshima.)

But there’s more. The tree that grows in the Phantasmoon Courtyard is also a ginkgo tree. Again, it could be a huge coincidence!
