I’ve been wondering about the brothers lately. Especially poor Melchior, he’s got it rough all the time with no breaks. I’m still thinking about how I barely managed to stop The Maw from destroying the walls in my living room. I noticed at the very last second because Melchior started getting louder with his panicking and hurried as fast as I could, so it was okay in the end.

And hey, I got a cool little demon spider at the end of it all, even if it couldn’t live without Melchior nearby because of feeding specifically off of his despair, and died after the brothers left again.

M: I’m just a load of trouble… My deepest apologies— What else did I break? I’ll have it fixed…!

Hey now, it’s all good, most of the stuff that was knocked over wasn’t broken. Whatever was broken had been things Ember and I planned to either toss or donate anyways. I gathered up the glass stuff and gave it all to my sister to use, so it was alright in the end. You were alright in the end and didn’t get injured, and I got The Maw settled down, so I’m happy.

M: But what if I do break something of value next time? Perhaps it can be prevented if I just keep my distance…

I can assure you that nothing of high value is displayed so openly outside of the bedrooms. I usually keep my most prized possessions stored away somewhere to dig out and look at later, and not even Ember knows where I store everything most of the time since I scatter the storage spaces all around. And if the thought of accidentally breaking things worries you, Ember and I have no problem taking things down to put away if it would make you feel better. We enjoy having all three of you around, Mel, and we’re always happy to accommodate when needed.
